The amount of love you have to have in your heart for someone to endure that and not walk away is truly unconditional... Makes me wanna call every single person who put up with me when i lost my wife.... bravo Mr.Sandler and Mr Cheadle great work!!

I love that this scene highlights what people that care about people who are suffering have to go through. We have to walk on eggshells because they're suffering ptsd, depression, and grief on astronomical levels. We've all suffered so we can share that empathy and humanity enough to want to connect with them, but we have to remember that because we're in touch with pain and grief, it's hard to suffer the abuse they hurl at us in their pain. It's the great push away, and now I want to view this movie to see if Alan keeps trying to pierce through his friends vast pain. If their connection in youth is enough to make him invest in a friend that still exists to this day.

This was a great movie. Initially I thought it was going to be boring, but it turned out really good. I loved the part where I learned what happened to his family. That's how I began to understand why he behaved that way.

The smile on Adam Sandler‘s face when they are riding the scooter around New York City is 100% authentic and real. I hope you took in the moment because that is something I bet years and years from now he will look back and go. That was a really special day.

Adam Sandler's single masterpiece. Ungodly acting from an unsuspected actor.

I often think that this movie is so emotional, it scares people away. I had never heard of this movie until CZcams recommended it, and that’s a damn shame.

    Charlie's grief caused PTSD.
His grieving in-laws stalked him to the point that he couldn't trust anybody to not be part of their agenda.
Yes, he needed help, but not how the in-laws were going about it - strictly for themselves.
The father-in-law was more passive about it, but the mother-in-law was like a dog with a bone.
(Richard Klein & Melinda Dillon were great in their roles).

NYC in 2007 was a totally different city then. The stores weren't all closed, people weren't all snappy with each other, and the Starbucks stores had bathrooms. It's as though NYC exists in pre and post pandemic. This is a great movie, but it seems so hollow now.
