That was a real family guy type joke 😂 it’s so obvious the is Seth McFarlane’s creation.
This version of dark humor was actually relatively mild, though. And actually, unlike a lot of more modern dark humor jokes on Family Guy, this one actually got me to laugh. Gotta give credit to Mark Walberg, though. Until the Ted movies, I didn't think he could be that funny of a guy.
It was like when Peter and Lois started fucking in the grocery store and the guy just walked by and said, “This is a cool place.”

Welllll, in actual fact, it can, and does, happen especially when the defibrillator is used within 60 sec of the onset of a shockable rhythm. Now if he really was in asystole, that is not a shockable rhythm, but I have done 1 round of cpr with 1 dose of epi on a patient in asystole, got enough blood pumped to get them into v-fib, then shock them and have them convert to normal sinus. It is possible and happens on something of the order of around %13 in in-hospital arrests and around %3 in out of hospital arrests. Btw, I am a 16 year veteran paramedic, so I have seen it a time or two.

I was definitely shocked when I heard Morgan Freeman joined the cast of this movie. I guess even if your film isn't a huge blockbuster, if it does well enough, you'll have even the most high-profile actors signing on to join the sequel.
