Makes me so sad knowing how amazing it could have turned out if they were given enough time. The game has some of the best dragon ball scenes/voice acting period, even til this day.

Only difference is that Nano actually defeated Perfect Cell, unlike poor Vegeta who got bodied

Burst Limit was so underrated. At the time of its release everyone was so in love with the Tenkaichi series that it was seen as a "step back" going to the budokai style. Its honestly a shame because this game still looks better than most of the games that came after, and thats including the Xenoverse games.

Same bro me and my cousins played this and the whole budokai series and more I miss those days lol ultimate battle 22 on ps1 was also a jam back in the day. They reused good concepts from old games like UB22 to make some of the gba games and even burst limit was reminiscent of the budokai games, raging blast of tenkaichi etc.

Honestly if they had taken the time to finish this, include the rest of Z and maybe even some GT favorites like the SSJ4s, I think people would be mentioning this alongside Tenkaichi 3 and Budokai 3 as the best Dragonball games ever. It's a great game, it's a shame to think about how much more it could have been.
This was the game that sparked my dragon ball heart before Xenoverse 1 and 2 back in the 360 days.
ik this is all for fun and no "try harding" but just a few things (well, I should say- don't read if you wanna discover every mechanic on your own, these are just 2 of my favorites)
you should learn to grab+Teleport (downwards or upwards) combo, or "Heavy Strike" + special/'something' (I think the input for heavy strike is "triangle/Y + R2/RT", and what I mean by 'something' is that if I remember correctly certain characters have certain specific options during that hit-stun, the game won't let you input/fallow-up with just about anything.)
also by teleporting up to the sky you get some extra damage when transitioning from "ground screen" to "sky screen", same effect with the reverse.
these are very satisfying to utilize imo. (if you're confused, the "heavy strike" i'm referring to is the one where you punch through the opponents defenses with a gut punch that stuns them, it stretches their guts/back like in the series- you'll know exactly what I'm referring to when you see it, it's satisfying and you can even combo it into a few other things if I remember correctly... it's also risky if you miss so don't abuse it or you'll be punished).
Oh, and also Aura spark is very useful, I think you've both used here and there but not to the full extent (you can vanish attack infinitely and into a pursue attack + much more, as it basically keeps you at "max aura" until it fully drains with its timer.)

I was number 1 on the leaderboards on this game back on the 360 the competitive scene was nuts on this game good memories and obvs we turned the drama pieces off

I really hope they decide to re-release a finished version of this game. The graphics, music, voice acting, and fight scenes were probably some of the best out of any dragon ball game ever made.

Gosh played this so much as a kid, but not being a kid who actually watched the series knowing everything it missed sucks so hard XD as later games that added buu and all that made me so confused on who he was, but thankfully lots of games since retell the DBZ story all the time so it's not as rare as it was before, but it's a crime GT and Super haven't gotten their games yet

When Goku goes Super Saiyan and fights Frieza to me it has the best English voice acting in any of the other DB games. Sean Schemmel fucking kills it in that fight.

Today I learned future trunks also appears in Z, the accual future trunks arc is just a reappearance, and he's the Version that cuts up mecha frieza. I did not know that!
This the one game I regret not buying. By the time this game came out, I was just starting college, so my nerdy side was dwindling and I was honestly fatigued from all of the budokai’s and Tenkaichi’s of the ps2 era.

btw nano in case you didnt know dragon ball z burst limit was finished there is a full version of it the psp version called dragon ball z shin budokai is burst limit and it covers the full story the moves are the same and the attacks are the same so you should give it a try
A little random but being able to swap BACK to your own body after Ginyu swaps is something more DBZ games should do, it's much more chaotic and I love it

This game was the first thing I knew from Dragon Ball, I didnt understand anything but I loved it!
I really hope that if they re-release this or make a sequel that they don't touch the gameplay mechanics. It's perfect and it has so much detail that figuring it out and learning it makes 80% of the time enjoying it.
(perhaps making a new option to either turn off "action events" or their cutscene, or simply make more fluid and less intrusive "action event" mechanics. )
other then this, regardless of who remakes/releases it- DO NOT CHANGE A SINGLE THING COMBAT/GAMEPLAY WISE.
if the buu saga were to be added I'd be _very_ happy/satisfied, if they added super or GT then that'd be a super win/bonus, but if in order to have those things gameplay mechanics need to be compromised/changed- then I'm ok with the original roster, I just want more people (and myself) to play with the same exact system and see them uncover it and have the same experience I had when I played this game on my 360; those moments of going "Oh sh#t- this is how I can do this on command?! I can also do this?! and combo it with this?! :0
So this is how this works and this is how I can take greater advantage of it?!" X]
this game just gave me so many of these moments, were you realize there's another extra layer/mechanic, needless to say I love it.

5:22 if I remember correctly you can simply block solar flare. (it has been a while but I think I recall there being an easy way to counter/block slolar flare within a reasonable window/frame of time. )

Burst Limit 2 need to bring ki charging back. Ki charging matters so much in Budokai 3 which made the battle more technical. BL2 needs to take out the drama pieces. They need to expand the roster and story till current manga arc. They need a story mode like Infinite World. They need 3v3 also…. That’s the BL sequel we need.

This game was indeed finished, the reason we are missing the buu arc is due to the director trying to make the game more in line with Budokai 1, I believe this was even a budokai remake originally.
Nano is going all out with these vague titles. I'm loving it.

Definitely some non-canon bootysauce there, Ginyu's *body* doesn't own the Body Change technique, and this isn't some recent revelation, Ginyu in Goku's body used the Body Change, so the technique belongs to whatever the ki/spirit core of Ginyu's mind and he can use it in the new body.
