  • In this video Fabien talks about a tour he took on his Suzuki Van Van RV125 in Scotland. Scotland is a beautiful place to tour and it is more than possible on a Suzuki van van. The Suzuki Van Van can handle the twisty roads of Scotland with ease. It isn't the usual bike for a tour but it more than possible to have a great time on it.

    Should do the Northern 500 if you guys get time. There's a road from Blairgowrie up through the hills towards Aberdeen called Old Military Road the A93 or Lecht road. The scenery is absolutely stunning and runs through the Cairngorms National Park. Both Lecht, Glenshee and the Cairngorms isn't ideal in colder weather as they are our skiing areas. Can definitely recommend during April to August. The Great Glen is another as well as Rannoch Moor. We live up from Inverness and the roads for riding although stunning are dangerous if you think your the reincarnation of Barry Sheene or a more modern day Guy Martin.
    Saying that some great roads in england. The isle of wight is gorgeous but one hell of a ring stung ride from the Highlands.
    Northern Ireland and the Causeway Coast is another must ride

      I definitely need to get to doing the full Northern 500. I found riding in Scotland was effortless in terms of finding nice roads. I could pick any road on the map, and there was high chance it would be beautiful

      @@FabMotorbikes I do enjoy the lake district, the Pennines as well. Obviously a motorbike around the London ring road is way better than a car.
      Had been down to Hastings, took the car and absolutely hated it 😁. I'd love to do the run from London to Brighton for the bike meet.
      There is a bike run around Shetland but sadly invite only.
      Sadly I'm getting to the age where those longer rides on my gsxr just kill the wrists and back after 100 miles or so.
      Great excuse for a few nights away though.
      Any tips on other roads worth traveling down south

      @@FabMotorbikes haha i've had mine about 5 years, can't get rid ever, so much fun, just wish it had a 300/350 and it'd be perfect for me.

      @@IBatesI I have actually always said a similar thing. I believe if Suzuki made a 300/350 or 400 cc version it would sell really well.
      It’s the reason why I quite like the Ducati Scrambler 400 and 800. They look a bit like a Van Van but with more power. But they still don’t quite have the Van Van charm

      No problem, glad it was helpful. That Honda is a great bike for the job. Reliable and quite big roomy for a 125cc motorcycle 👍

      Interesting… Do you feel it’s too heavy?

    • @tomduffy5129
      @tomduffy5129 Před 3 lety

      No its light as anything it just corners like a bus really seems to suck at everything shame really cos it does look cool

    • @FabMotorbikes
      @FabMotorbikes  Před 3 lety

      I’ve found it to be a good all rounder. But definitely not for everyone. The massive tyres allowed me to lean sooo far! What other 125cc bikes have you experienced?

    • @tomduffy5129
      @tomduffy5129 Před 3 lety

      Ok i hate to.do this but i rode it for the first time today in the dry and it was very fun lol im converted

    • @FabMotorbikes
      @FabMotorbikes  Před 3 lety

      Haha no worries. I understand 🤣 those fat dobbley tyres are actually quite dodgy in the wet in my opinion. But in the dry they seem to grip well.
