    It's probably a good thing it's that thorough. In Australia is down to the local Motorcycle wreckers and check blinkers, headlight high and low beam, rear brake light
    Number plate light, horn and tyre depth. $23 and your done.

      @FabMotorbikes  Před 2 lety +1

      wow that's not much at all. I've been surprised by how little bikes are checked in some places. And here's me thinking the MOT isn't thorough enough.

    Loving the content and great information. Have yu had to do a valve adjustment on your bike?

    • @FabMotorbikes
      @FabMotorbikes  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you. Yes I got it done when the bike got to about 24k miles on the clock. All were in spec. Which I believe is often the case with these bikes 👍

      @@FabMotorbikes did they check or have to adjust. If you dont mind me asking what was the cost. I love the look of your bike and thinking of getting one as my first bike and I dont want the valve adjustment to put me off getting one.

    • @FabMotorbikes
      @FabMotorbikes  Před 2 lety +1

      I used a trusted local bike mechanic and it was about £280. They did say that it would have been more expensive if they needed adjusting (maybe £350). I expect dealers dealer would be more pricey though.

    Hate the MOT test, long waits to get a test date and my local test centre will fail a bike for the smallest thing.

    • @FabMotorbikes
      @FabMotorbikes  Před rokem

      Yea I agree. It can be an absolute pain. Worth running through issues yourself before hand 👍

  • @N269
    @N269 Před rokem +1

    Isle of Man - NO testng ever. BUT... but better not have an issue as they'll throw the book at you if you're irrsponsible and have serious faults. 👍

    • @FabMotorbikes
      @FabMotorbikes  Před rokem +2

      Interesting! I did not know this. I can imagine they are strict. I visited the island once and learned that given you were allowed to go as fast as you like over the mountain (in 2011 at least) , there was a zero tolerance speeding policy everywhere else. Which is fair enough

    • @N269
      @N269 Před 2 měsíci

      Actually, there is a tolerance, but it's not wise to flaunt it. Locals are the bulk of the offenders, funnily!! 👍👍 Oh, I should have qualified the non-mot. Any vehicle under 3 years don't need one, but if over and never registered then needs only one. Vehicles not taxed for 2+ years will need a test... 🍻

    E.g:- MOT, insurance and

    • @FabMotorbikes
      @FabMotorbikes  Před rokem +1

      Hi , the only 3 things you can do is to see the MOT history, do a HPI check and ask for service history.
      You can check the MOT history here: www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/?_ga=2.204633936.1137100944.1681572551-330441764.1681572551 it’s a free service but you will need the ref number. If it has passed the MOT recently that is best.
      A HPI check has to be paid for and is offered by many organisations (google will help you) . It shows if an insurance company has written off the vehicle in the past. This tells you if it has been in an accident or not.
      And service history will tell you if the owners have looked after the bike as well as possible.
      Thanks
