Just a idea... Lay down large pipes along the bottom of the water flow area and cover them up in brush.. Have the intake be like 4-5m away from where the dam will be, then build the damn about half a meter from the outflow keeping it on the ground and under the water line they allow... That should allow them to feel like they get there home, but allows you water control.... They say the sound of running water trigger them to build the damn so might want to put the pipe under ground.. Can also brake up the water out put in smaller pipes down stream.

The red water is most likely from a beet processing plant upstream, Ive seen something like this before.

I grew beets in my garden in Montana and I found the Greens from a beet plant pretty tasty.

Hard work. That dam was huge. It looked like it was wide on the backside of the dam.

Ok I read in the comments the water is red from Herts from a processing plant. beers can be used as a source for sucrose. In 1948 sugar was still rationed in the UK. Kiddies sweets did not come off the ration till 1950. My mother was pregnant with me in 1947- 1948 and Beetroot was her MUST HAVE food. I personally could not stand the taste. The red juice left on my plate after the beetroot was removed gave me the goosepimples as a child. I have no allergic reaction if I eat it.

Here in Montana, they had to kill all of our beavers to regain control of moving water.

Love your videos. Probably a silly question but with the red dye from the Beets, do the beavers have a pink tinge to their coats and does this water contaminate anything.
