For example, do you need to sanitize prior to each feed, after every wash, how long are sanitized items "good" for? this covered everything i was wondering! mainly was if baby didnt finish a bottle how long until she couldnt eat it anymore... life saver. ive wasted ounces of milk thinking if she didnt finish it after exactly 2 hours from when she last ate that it was bad.

I'm curious to know where you found these guidelines. I was told the 4-4-4 rule, 4 hours, 4 days, 4 months. I've forgotten milk on my counter for more than 4 hrs and threw it out in tears. Lol. I've thrown out so much milk because I was following that 4-4-4 rule. I'm glad you talked about being able to shake the milk to mix it. So helpful. Thank you for this video!

I did hear about not shaking the breast milk just yesterday and got so nervous because I have been to mix it altogether! So many contradictions when it comes to anyone’s baby haha but you made me feel better! I haven’t finished the video yet, but have you heard of the pitcher method? What are your thoughts?

Thank you for this! I did my own research because the lactation consultants I talked to at the hospital where I gave birth in February told me never mix cold & warm milk ever, never shake to mix the fat back in & don't feed any breastmilk left in the bottle after a feeding. My kiddos are almost 10 years apart & the LCs are a little better then they were 10 years ago, I did give birth at the same Hospital, but half the stuff they said was contradicting and confusing.
You’re right in that it is totally acceptable to mix previously cooled milk with freshly pumped milk. The AAP put out a statement this past Fall (2021) stating, “Mothers can mix warm milk and cold, or even consider pooling milk from 24 hours together, which may help even out variability in nutrients due to pumping time or breast emptying (which influences fat content of the milk)”

This makes me feel better knowing I can mix cold and fresh. I have multiple bottles at a time in the fridge now since I don’t get a lot of milk, but maybe half a days worth. It’ll save on bottles for sure

Thanks for the video! Do you know why AAP removed this new guideline about mixing milk from their website? CDC doesn't recommend mixing warm and cold milk, according to their website.
Thank you for the video! My question is if the frozen milk has the same benefits after thawed. I am talking about the antibodies in the milk. My pediatrician told that the breast milk after frozen, thawed and warmed up, loses its properties. Specially the antibodies

Hi, I love your videos! Could you speak about a clogged duct and mastitis? I had a clogged duct last week and now trying to keep from having that happen again.
Ooooh. Clogged ducts suck SO MUCH. I had a couple very bad clogs so I literally feel your pain--my first one I couldn't even lift my arm up. I am so glad you got it resolved. The key is to make sure you are completely emptying your breasts/not leaving milk sit for a long time. When I had a clog things that were recommended to me were: hot shower and massage, trying all different levels of suction on your pump, dangle feeding, epsom salt in your hakaa, pointing baby's chin toward the clog when nursing, taking sunflower lecithin 3x a day, and considering having your partner attempt to suck it out (Kurt was thankful we never had to use this option lol. Usually I would have Kurt massage while I pumped WHILE lifting my arm over my head and moving it in different positions. Once I resolved the clog, I would wean the sunflower lecithin daily and then spaced to every other day--it helps to thin the milk!! Hope that helps!!

Regarding labeling, time put on the storage bag;
Do you put the time you started pumping or the time you finish?
If you use the pitching method do you include the time you started/finished the first pump or the time you started or finished the last batch for the day before packing it?

Can yall please talk about Obstetric Violence! I am terrified to go to the hospital to deliver my second baby because with my first nothing I wanted happened i.e. delayed cord clamping, one hour of skin to skin before he was weighed/measured etc., the lactation consultant came in and said it's time to feed and pulled my top off while I was holding my newborn, and the doctor delivered my placenta for me by the time the nurses were done wiping him off etc. It's a topic that's not talked about enough and I would love to hear from yall as I will be in the delivery room again in the next few weeks and it's giving me so much anxiety that my wants will not be respected

-put it back in the fridge good until the next day “
Does this apply to both chilled Refrigerated milk, unthawed milk, and warmed milk?

Thank for the video great timing for us as we are planning on introducing expessed milk in the next few weeks. How long does it take to thaw frozen milk?
Congrats on your new babe! And so exciting to be introducing a bottle--thought it can be tricky. If you haven't checked out our video about paced bottle feeding, I'd highly recommend: czcams.com/video/ThW_0qB7OIg/video.html !! As for thawing frozen milk, how quickly is kind of up to you! You could just set it out on a countertop to let it come to room temp, you could run in under warm water, you can allow it to thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Another is to warm some water, remove it from the burner or microwave and set the bottle in the warm water to thaw. Be sure the heated water is warm, not boiling hot. Human milk can also be thawed by rotating the container under running warm water. Some like to thaw human milk in a waterless bottle warmer.
The one thing to do is NEVER MICROWAVE breastmilk--it kills the antibodies!!

Are you able to freeze milk that you have pumped in the morning and midday together?
Question on the night bottle. My baby never gets enough at night so we do a bottle of breast milk. That helps him sleep 3-4 hours vs 1-2 hours at night. Do you pump while your baby bottle feeds and do you pump at night if your baby goes longer than 4 hours? Also, can you do a video on pumping schedule with your spectra and Elvie/Willow during the course of the day between nursing?
