When I was little, a distant Uncle who was sleeping over, came to my shared room with my sister in the dead of the night and tried to grope my private part. I didn’t know what he was trying to do but it woke me up and he made an excuse and then left. He came back a while later and that woke me up again. I was annoyed and went to my mom to tell her Uncle was bothering me. She didn’t say anything but told me to lock my door. Since then, I didn’t like the uncle very much and was very weary around him especially when he sent us to school. Thinking back I am quite sad. Later, after a worker from our community came to our house to do some special stuff for us children I was receiving weird calls. Call that was asking me simple stuff at first and eventually begin to ask me what I was wearing. On the third time, I don’t remember what he said but it scared me so much I cried and took the phone to my mom. After she yelled into the phone, the person never called. Child predator is real. I have a little sister and have told her, whenever creepy people approached you, run to the nearest store and ask them to call the police.
same..my uncle too...but when his action knew by my big family..my aunt begging and crying not to report his crime to police..so we'll pretend that thing never happend

TW/ sexual assault: i faced a similar experience and i can really relate to this... in this day & age i’m surprised society is still narrow minded about sexual assault and how badly it can affect your mental health. if you have never experienced it before, you will never be able to understand the mental scarring at that time when it happened. your mind goes blank and your body just kinda froze. you are scared. when you are scared everything just goes on mute. hence you just can’t “shout”.... if you’re gonna comment ‘youre probably wearing a skirt’. i was wearing jeans.

The circumstances of many Gen X and Y folks in Asia are almost similar, regardless of their income groups and where they live: having to live with parents who constantly compare you with other siblings/cousins/relatives who are doing well academically and in white-collar sectors and living under mental stresses from dealing with cultural and religious expectations.
That's because they have tasted poverty and never wanted their child to go through what they went through. They know what's it like to go hungry or not eat for a day because they don't have enough money, something gen X and gen Y people in Singapore have never experienced.

I am not a hater, I just a very observant ppl.. ppl who so act out crazily because of jealousy. Too bad, they use their limited energy and time to pacify their jealousy.. those ppl not going to have their happy ending. I had my jealousy issue when I was early 20s.. I somehow attend some program and the coach ask me burn the paper I wrote about my jealousy issue..omg overnight I nvr felt jealousy anymore. I think my parents and aunts always short change me, I am freaking jealous with my younger brother. It’s nurture since young and it’s not helping me and others..I am shocked ppl curse a pregnant 🤰 woman.. karma hit hard soon

As human beings, we tend to judge based on what we SEE but this should not be the case anymore. There's more to someone than how they look or dress. You never know that the person beside you on the bus or train could be a CEO or lost a family member or experienced bullying. Hit me hard about favoritism by parents, I was the favorite, but all my siblings (9) were equally treated. How I wished i have more children (got daughter only and married).
at least u got a child. 🙂 My friend, got married for 4 year miscarriage and got into depression. Then another one spend thousands on treatment Ivf to get a child but so far no success when eventually she got depressed because she get cancer. Anyway I hope the best for you and may you have a lot of children like you wish.
