    i moved to linux/mac after windows 8 and never looked back. windows 10 inconsistency and amount of different looking contexts menus really disgusts me. the fact that multi-billion company cant do the design that enthusiasts and hobbyists do in linux is... wild, to say the least.

      It is insane to see how blatantly inconsistent the design is. Ever since windows 11 was launched, I became a full time Mac user

      @@bull_technology That's good both Mac and Linux are better than Windows at this point.

      @wartortlerulestheworld I like W11. Still prefer the W7 look and feel, but I'm stuck on Windows anyway for multiple reasons. The tools for one, but I hate Linux. Nothing but bad experiences with it, and I don't like Apple as a company.

    I fully agree with you, they’re going down, Windows 7 is the last well designed Windows

    • @bull_technology
      @bull_technology  Před rokem +5

      Indeed. It’s really unfortunate to see such a large OS be so disorganized and inconsistent.

      @@bull_technology the worst thing is that they have Office and for sure they won’t release it for Linux, I guess if they would do that, many people probably would switch to Ubuntu for example.

      @@bull_technologydo you think that Windows 11 is small step up from Windows 10

    • @bull_technology
      @bull_technology  Před rokem +2

      @@konyctg It's one step forward and two steps back in my view. My PC is now running Windows 11, and there are so many issues bleeding through the new look. Not to mention they've really dumbed down the OS and hidden alot of settings and features.

    • @konyctg
      @konyctg Před rokem +1

      @@bull_technology you mean they BABYFIED the look of the entire OS

    I've been daily driving Linux for years, then I had to go back to Windows because of certain professional softwares. My experience coming back was frustrating because I noticed all this inconsistent and unoptimized software shipped by Microsoft. Even the settings app was really slow, especially when there's an update.
    I remember an explanation for it was that Windows updates are compressed because they're so big, so our machine had to decompress it first to install (so big CPU usage). If that's not a sign of a bloated system then I don't know what is.

    • @bull_technology

      It really is a clunky mess. Bloated is the perfect word to describe what Windows has become

    It’s the laziness of the Design team to just put a Windows11-designed app and transport it into an 8 years old OS, without them redesigning.

    I would say the worst Windows was 3.1 (if you could even call it Windows). When compared to the early Mac and the Amiga, 3.1 was a joke. But moving on, Windows 8 was awful. The UI is a joke, and 8.1 is not much better. Windows 7 was great, and then they came out with 8/8.1 wtf. I also don't like 10. Stayed on 7 for a long time after even 10 was released. But strangely, I like W11. They've dropped the tiles and delivered an improved start menu, and the general look and feel has improved. It also better supports the later gen intel CPUs. I agree with your criticism of Windiws 10 and wasted space in the UI. That shocked me when I first saw it. It really grates. I still use control panel on 10 and 11.

      @bull_technology Valve cares more about SteamOS optimisation the main OS makers with 90% market share. It is real unreal.

      Honestly I don't use photo applications on the PC--I have a Mac for photo management and basic edits.
      If it's the editing capability that you're interested in though, Affinity Photo is a very powerful and relatively inexpensive application to use.
      If you're more interested in categorizing and compiling photo albums, older iterations of Windows Photo (such as the Windows 7 era program) are actually pretty well rounded.
