  • Emergency room physician Dr. Sampson Davis joins Megyn Kelly TODAY to demonstrate basic lifesaving skills that could mean the difference between life and death when someone has a heart attack. He shows how to do CPR, how to operate an AED (automated external defibrillator) and use an Epipen injector, and how to do the Heimlich maneuver.

How can important segments like this be only 2 min but a pop/celebrity tribute or scandal segment be longer?!? 🤦🏾‍♀️😒🤯🤨

This isn’t meant to train you. Take a class.
I’m not a fan of segments like this that rush through steps for something that takes 1 or 2 full days to learn and get somewhat comfortable with. They should’ve had a disclaimer or not done it at all.

@@SaikiKFannBothe presenters where almost speaking on top of one another…. she was kind of speaking over him.. it’s half way through the video and i’m none the wiser.
Why bring a guest to explain if you keep talking over him. let him do his thing.

Most of the time when someone has a heart-attack they flatline. This means that their heart stops beating and you say they are dead. When you do cpr and their heart beats again they are alive again. So you could technically die and come back to life…😮

I seen it happen today a man was unresponsive on the side of the road he was even blue with no pulse I called 911 we started cpr soon as I know it his pulse was picking back up and he was getting his pulse back and starting to respond some to paramedics I do believe in miracles if I wouldn’t have stopped he probably would still be laying there

A heart attack and cardiac arrest are two different things. Most heart attack patients are still fully conscious. Yes a heart attack can cause a cardiac arrest but they are different. If you are conscious and having a heart attack a AED or chest compressions will not help you.

What do you call the person who graduates last in their class in Medical School?
"Doctor". Kind of scary to think about, right?
"350,000 people will suffer cardiac arrest this year and 90% will unfortunately lose their life"? Can I get a source on that ridiculously false statistic Doc?
It's also called an Automated External Defibrillator. Not an "Automatic External Device"...
What kind of Doctor is Sampson and what medical school's Affirmative Action program is responsible for his MD? So I know to avoid doctors who went there.

Epinephrine auto injectors (Like the Epi Pen) should be given in the thigh, not the arm. The instructions are on the label.
