    Finis Mitchell is pronounced 'fee-nus" and lived in Rock Springs. He and his wife operated a fishing camp out of Big Sandy in the '30's and 40's and are responsible for stocking many of the lakes with trout.
    Mitchell Peak, across Jackass Pass from Warbonnet, is named after him for all of his contributions to the range. He climbed most of the peaks in the Winds. Mitchell Peak was the only officially named geographic feature after a living person.
    There is a long 5.9 on the North Face of Mitchell which is pretty good.
    Royal Robbins did the first traverse of the Cirque of the Towers.

    I agree with Keith! Mountains are best enjoyed with only the sound of the wind, the clinking of hardware, and the human voice. Leave the music at home.

    when you rappel from the top, do you just use natural features or leaving slings when there are no rap rings ?

    • @tylerkarow
      @tylerkarow  Před 4 lety +1

      It totally depends. In the cirque we exclusively used slings that were left over from previous parties and added some cord to one or two anchors.
