    How I would use Te in a sentence: It is important to eat healthy because it will lower your risk of heart disease, it will improve your energy, and it will increase weight loss.

    • @esilya
      @esilya Před rokem +1

      the only problem is i start to think about these topics. like why reducing the risk of heart disease is important? bc they dont "want" to die. isnt that a feeling? living looks like feeling oriented all by itself. idk maybe T users will say our kind will be more developed with me living and contributing etc. but still isnt that just a instinct to live, i dont know. im wondering what do you (T users) think about this?

    • @juliana-bu6yf
      @juliana-bu6yf Před rokem +3

      @@esilya not wanting to die is more of a subconscious intent rather than simply a "feeling" itself. it's not entirely something that a person thinks about when they have practical objectives to achieve on a daily.
      "living looks like feeling-oriented all by itself"
      - i don't entirely agree nor do i disagree. "living" is an extremely loaded term as everyone has different perspectives on "life". i wouldn't say it's feeling-oriented nor is it logic-oriented because life in itself is built on humans' usage of both feeling and logic. everyone uses it because that's just how the brain functions.

    • @juliana-bu6yf
      @juliana-bu6yf Před rokem

      hm, yes although your sentence does contain empirical evidences that support your claim, it still depends on the intent.
      why do you want to eat healthy? because you want to experience the joys of life? because you have intellectual pursuits to explore? because you have practical objectives to achieve?
      i wouldn't say that the sentence isn't Te, in fact, i wouldn't label it as any function because i think that it's supposed to be relative to the subconscious intent.

    ENTJ here. The simplest way to describe Te: it's the gathering and sharing of logical information and then organising based on that information. In other words, I'm either sharing factual or procedural information to others and providing explanations, or I'm asking others questions and gathering this information from them. What are the steps we need to take? How do we do this? What does this term mean? Etc.
    Te seeks to clarify, take complex information and simplify, share logical/procedural information with the group and find the best ways to do things. Knowledge is power.

    It's funny, I have a nasty habit of over-explaining because my Ni is so abstract and my Te really wants to express it as accurately as possible. I will actually explore ways to describe my Ni right there in front of you so I'm less trying to drill my point into you (as people often suspect) and more trying to find the right words to do my Ni justice.

      I use Fi over Te. I grew up around females so my feminine functions developed first. I would always feel very insecure and unless I felt good about the work I was producing I wouldn’t like it because I required perfection. When I did hesitantly move forward on a school assignment I did extremely well and got accolades out of it. Now I know as a 29 year old person if I want to accomplish something I need to be ok with imperfections because an entire drawing done poorly looks better than turning around on your first mistake and not completing it at all.

      ENFP here, I hate people using "I feel" in the workplace. 😅 It just gets messy, I can not criticize or challenge your opinion which is based on "I feel" because you are going to take it too personally. For example: We are moving the morning meetings from 8:45 to 8:30 because it feels better, we should start earlier. No, damn it, you use "I feel it" when you choose a restaurant or coffee shop (it is/it feels so nice to sit next to the window), but if you are moving a damn meeting, then do it because of practical reasons: starting earlier because we need more time to discuss, colleagues are busy and can not come in time, etc.

    Te really values the logic and the reasons (some sought-after consequences) behind any action/decision. You should be able to explain the why behind a decision/action without using emotional language (e.g. like, hate, love…). This activates a T over an F function.
    Te wants to know what we need to do, which requires knowing what it is that we are trying to make work. To answer the latter, we should know: What are the right outputs? What inputs are necessary to get the right outputs? How can we get the right inputs?
    For something to work:
    - It is well integrated into the systems it interracts with.
    - It is maximized in terms of energy.
    - It is maximized in terms of time.
    How something can be made work is a question answered by knowledge accumulated through past experience or implementation of book or mentor knowledge.
    Take your best shot at it. With Te, there’s no failure. It’s triangulation so that we learn and next time we can do it better.

      I did the same, but it was a country whose culture I like and my partner was from the same country. While the decision was based on Fi, which is my biggest motivation, I would not have succeeded in integrating into this new country if I hadn't used my Te: looking how to get a job, learning the language, dialects, religion, etc...
      I wish I used more Te when I was younger tbh... 😖Especially when it comes to my school and class choices. But looking back I am aware that I just couldn't do that because my circumstances were constantly reminding me and triggering my Fi values and feelings (family expectations for example). It was later that Te challenged my Fi values and I managed to change some that were harmful to me. 😁
      Psychotherapy can really help us people with the dominant/auxiliary Fi, to develop that healthy Fi-Te relationship which is essential for any kind of progress or success.

    Fe! God, Fe is so hard for an intj, especially for an intj in a workplace full of feelers and sensors! I'm constantly working on it, trying to be aware of what other people want, how they might react, how they would feel, how they would expect me to feel (which most of the time i don't know). And then i have to act on those feelings based on what is the RIGHT thing for me to do (and not what the best thing for me to do, which is more likely what my Te would tell me to do). And on top of that, the actions must be in Se.

    Appreciate the input. Gotta say I have a really unhealthy relationship with Te usage at times. Ti hero with relatively high IQ and a wrong environment leads to that function being horribly underdeveloped.
    If I'm thinking about something I'm good at I'll ask for input or even think about others perspective (as you describe here) far too late (if I don't just give up on it). That leads to an even stronger Ti if you overcome the difficulty, but ultimately using a bit Te in some places is pretty much required. Unfortunately I got by with Ti so long until the hurdles are nearly insurmountable, and need to step back and practice Te on smaller issues first, which is really frustrating for someone like me.

    Yes! My blindspot. I definitely take extra and inefficient spins around the block when the radio is on lol I love to cruise in the car. It gets my day started right lol
    I like defining terms in one word to better understand them especially for trickster functions. Helps alot. For now I'm liking the words efficiency for Te and vibe for Fe.
    Also for trickster functions I've noticed that "overwhelming " is the emotion given by that slot. My infp sister is overwhelmed by loud noise for ex. She turns the TV to a whisper.
    For my Te trickster, I had the same thoughts you described about socializing in h.s. but for research. I remember the teachers would say they were preparing us for college and the research papers we'd have to write and I would think...oh man I'm not gonna make it lol I thought college and formatting were synonymous lol citations etc. Recently I tried to make a budget for things I wanted to get, I kept putting my head down and closing my eyes to focus and use Ti in my head. I tried to put all the inputs in excel and felt overwhelmed when I had to price things lol That's when I connected the dots to trickster being overwhelming.
    Last thing on this fascinating function: I like learning, as an infj, from ntjs because they break things down to a simplicity and efficiency of understanding that, like you said makes things easy. Music theory I'm learning from an intj. Super efficient. Ti grabs it very quickly but Te trickster wouldn't organize it to that level. Thankfully there are Te saviors to package everything so nicely. So life hack 101 for any INFJs out there, try and learn or find an xNTJ produced product on the topic of interest as they will organize it very well for you!

    Wow, this is what i need. You don’t know how much you help me for this one. This is so useful in so many levels. You saved me from my rabit hole future decision making I might take in the future. I think most of my problems as an INFP comes from neglecting my Te.
    If I will use my Si and go back in the past, most of my problems comes from not asking my Te! I know that its down there. I just dont know how to use it or will I say it’s not strong enough.
    I have instances in group work related that people sometimes gets frustrated at me for not telling my thoughts and opinions through brainstorming and just tell it after we failed or I will stop them in the middle and say it in an awkward and abruptly way lol, cause i can’t take it anymore.
    There were like, WHY YOU DIDNT SAY ANYTHING BEFORE? OR YOU SHOULD SAY YOUR THOUGHTS NEXT TIME CAUSE YOU HAVE GOOD SOLUTIONS THAT MIGHT SAVE US TIME. WHY YOU DIDNT FIGHT FOR IT IF YOU KNOW YOUR RIGHT?
    I was like 😭😭😭😭😭😭.
    I’m not sure if I’m developing my Te now that I’m in my mid 20’s because now I can differentiate the Fi and Te because of MBTI. When I’m deciding I don’t usually now think of my Fi viewpoints but also ask my Te.
    WHAT I NEED to better to solve this problem faster ( this is probably the Te murmuring on my background ) VS WHAT I WANT( This is the Fi and my tower of values that you need to pass).
    Now I have the tendency to get this both on my system and ask myself for a winwin solution.
    I will tap my Ne to help me, HOW WILL I GET MY NEEDS EFFICIENTLY WITHOUT COMPRIMISING MY Fi. And then Ne will generate so many things, sometimes it works and most of the time I will go in the rabbit hole of procrastinating and then nothing will happen, instead of just following my Te at the moment lols.
    And in this video, you said What will be the best solution in this situation according to what the world wants and needs blown my mind hahaha. I admire the Te on Intj in a sense that sometimes when I’m on meeting, I will think, how will the Intj or entj say this and I will just throw my te on the front and let it talk hahaha.
    PS: I forbid myself to use the word ‘feel’ and replace it with ‘think’ on my comment to exercise my Te lol it feels weird hahaha.

    Doing design for a living, I would suggest that even someone with very good Te will probably not get the "maximum" efficiency on the first attempt at anything. Te, in general, is flexible by nature, so coming up with options and iterative versions is part of the process. Make a reasonable first pass at an idea, even if it is not "good" or complete or in any way final. Then, establish a measurable "Baseline" for this Version 1.0, with whatever metrics you think are most important. Then, continuously try to improve these metrics, and add new ways of measuring what you are doing, as you go. Thinking in terms of *continuous improvement* is a method for long-term success.

    Woah...
    I have a question. Would it be a Te thing to have to have logical reasons for emotions?
    I use the phrase 'does it work?' so frequently... Does it work for me? For others? I don't care how creative the solution as long as it works. Although I prioritise the quickest and most repeatable solutions... Each solution must be tailored accordingly to the present circumstances.
    For instance, one of my friends got a dog. Im allergic to dogs, but knowing her and how much she talked about wanting a dog, I knew it was inevitable. However I did think she would wait until her backyard was properly dog proofed but eh.
    I got mad a bit because now it was more inconvenient going to her house and it already takes a long time to get there, but it didn't take that long to determine I was just annoyed because I didn't know how allergic I would be to the dog and that now making plans with her would be more difficult as it's a puppy and must accompany her everywhere.
    So after I figured out the issues I was like, I still want to be her friend so like let's meet at the dog friendly beach (outside so less allergic) and we went from there and things are fine.
    But her friends? They just have no clue how to interact with her anymore and I don't understand how it can be that hard. Like, talking is a thing...
    They gave a bunch of crappy reasons why they are having issues and I can tell there is some other emotionally based issue but have no idea what so I'm just going to proceed as usual on my end and hope it sorts itself out...

Got me thinking that Te somehow naturally shifts to an Fe when INTJs starts or attempts to be more emotionally expressive, or shall i say 'thankful' for things, I guess?. Feels odd though. @clintwestwood4545 Před 4 lety +4

      LiJo Don’t quote me on this, but i believe it’s because the ENTP has the opposite functions as us, while the ESFP has reverse functions! So where INTJ has Ni first, ENTP has Ne first. INTJ has Te, while ENTP has Ti! (So I/E swap on the functions). I’m just not sure which one is what: reverse (ESFP) or opposite (ENTP) lolol

    I have a question. Often, I figure out the most efficient ways to accomplish tasks on my own, but explaining my reasons to other people is challenging. Is Te mostly used to explain things to others, or is it used to achieve personal efficiency? My understanding is that it differs from Ti in that Ti is much more exacting, perfectionistic, and mathematical. But, Te cuts corners in order to get the job done quickly and effectively.

    • @InternetLiJo
      @InternetLiJo  Před 4 lety +1

      Yeah this is hard to explain because both Ti and Te want it to work efficiently and effectively for them. However Te users generally have an easy time explaining the why behind a reason for doing something. It’s more than just explaining though, it’s pinging to the outside world to always assess integration, outside of just the self.

    • @forKyrene
      @forKyrene Před 4 lety +2

      Cutting corners is such an Ni thing to do... 😁
      It's definitely not entirely for explaining things. Like Lindsay said it's hard to explain. Let's see...
      With both Te and Ti, it involves assessment and evaluation of the the external condition based on logical reasons while using the least amount of resources until a possible solution or output is achieved.
      However, Te requires that as many perspectives as possible are assessed and evaluated until all possible loopholes can be plugged in, resulting in an almost-always best solution. However, since most of the energy was used in assessing many perspectives, attention to the details were put second priority.
      Ti, on the other hand, would not necessarily look at all perspectives, but instead would latch on a possible solution and then methodically deep dive into its details. So although you get a more detailed solution, it's sometimes not really the best solution.
      I guess, to put it simply, Te considers breadth, while Ti prioritizes depth in it's reasoning and decision making.
      I might've made it more abstract there, but its how i use my Te and how I see Ti works. I'll let my Ni brood on it until I can come up of the best possible concrete sensory example for you.

    Entp here trying to become the ubermensch
    Weirdly I took a functions test and I got
    Ti Ni Ne Fe
    Seems half entp half infj and some suggestions of intp/istp.
    My Te seems weak at times but not non-existent, but I do believe it needs to be worked on. 5w6 makes it so that my Ti overwhelms my Ne, making me closer to an intp, but with a strong Ni as well.
    Ti and Ni seems to be a weird combination and I think that developing my Te more I can become much more efficient in many realms of endeavor. In such case I partially develop my se by going to the gym, my Te by brainstorming the usefulness of a fact or what must be done, my Ti by rationalizing reasons behind things and how they possibly can change an outcome(coupled with Ni to know whether something is inevitable or not).
    My Ne and Ni always fire up and so does my Ti. My Fe sometimes but runs out after an interaction I have 0 interests in common.
    In conclusion.. this rant probably made me more knowledgeable of myself and also led me to have more questions about myself.

    So how's this for using Te. In order to save $20, I decided not to take Uber to church but to get on the bus. That meant getting up a couple of hours earlier. That also meant making sure I had my coffee, breakfast, and even a lunch packed in advance becauseI was also going to take the bus home. Everything was all set. I got out the door. I almost was at the bus stop, and then I realized I did not have my phone. So that miss step alone means I'm back to square one and I'm taking the Uber to church. ( Continuing with my plan to take the bus with me I would be late for church and for helping out at church, which was unacceptable in my mind) I've learned from the mistake so that I can execute this better next time.
