    Delta 3200 is my favorite medium format film stock. Delta 3200 still needs a little light . I rate it at 1600 ISO and develop at 1600 too. I use HC110 dilution B, or Ilfotec DDX. It's a wonderful film.
    You can also shoot HP5 at 1600 ISO as an option.

      The film chart shows that the Ilfotec DDX suits the Delta 3200 film more than the HC110, but XTOL and D-79 are better. I'm not sure if it works with Ilford, but T-Max dev could enhance the shadow detail. Kodak has a detailed chart for that. Just my suggest.

    You've got some really great shots in there, Adam. How slow do you attempt your handhold shots?

    • @adammissedfocus
      @adammissedfocus  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Thanks that really means alot! For this video I mainly shot on a tripod, except for I think two photos or one. The lowest I would attempt handheld is 1/15. But I do not recommend that.

    Beautiful photos Adam! Can I ask if you meter the highlights or shadows? I am new to film photography and scared to take photos at night because I dont know how to meter the scene. Any tips are highly appreciated.

    • @adammissedfocus
      @adammissedfocus  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Thanks! Glad you enjoyed them. Sure thing! I usually meter for the shadows, try to find the darkest part in the scene and meter for that. Sometimes I want more of a moody photo with silhouettes. Then I meter for the midtones or highlight. But 9 times out of 10 I meter for the shadows. I also recommend using your phone to meter at night, I find it to be more reliable. Also a must is a tripod and a shutter release cable in order to avoid a blurry photo. The last thing would be to look out for reciprocity failure, but that's a long subject and best to google it. Hope this somewhat helps.

    I remember this getting re-released , it was so hyped when they brought it back
    I was always confused since its mentioned at 1000 speed film, if you do shoot it at 3200, does the lab knows its 1,000 or do you have to ask them to pull or push the film?
    the lovelytechnicality , or overthinkinglol

    • @adammissedfocus
      @adammissedfocus  Před 7 měsíci

      I’m pretty sure that most labs know cause it’s been out for a while and it’s a popular film stock. So I don’t think you need to Mention it. But I still do mention it just In case 😅

    Superb photos. For specific reasons, I have to shoot this film for a commission but in 135 format... Will it be acceptable in terms of grain? I normally use this film on 120 cameras, but perhaps by setting myself to 1000 iso I'll reduce it for a 35... If you have any advice, that would be great!

    • @adammissedfocus
      @adammissedfocus  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hi! I personally have never shot Delta 3200 in 35mm, but seeing as tho it’s a smaller format the grain will be more visible than the photos in this video. I would probably rate it at 1600. It’s still a high iso film, so you won’t get “smooth” images like portra even if you rate it at a 1000, but it’s not a bad look in my opinion. I don’t mind the grain, I would lean into the look.

    I like low light photography however I never know how slow to make the shutter. How did you know in that one shot I was 1/8 sec ?

    • @adammissedfocus
      @adammissedfocus  Před 8 měsíci

      You mean the first photo of the roll? I used a light meter app on my phone (always prefer to use my phone when shooting at night). I knew I wanted more things in focus so I think I chose F Stop 8. I then just pointed the lightmeter at the darkest area and went off with what the app showed me. In general at night I meter for the shadows. Hope this helps.

    Was the film developed at 1600 too?

    • @adammissedfocus
      @adammissedfocus  Před 4 měsíci

      Hey! No, it was developed normally. I just shot it at 1600 without mentioning it to the lab.
