2:10:54 - This.... I love this character trait of Lucious. He’e said it and hinted to it a couple times before. Its just a large factor to Lucious? Just.... Trott plays him so well. Lucious is just so fucking awesome when he needs to be.
Yeah, he's aint a champion of a god, a cloned elemental elf, a holder of a genesis relic or has a symbiotic relationship with a ancient being. He just an elf boi. Though his chromatic magic has been commented on a few timee, I wonder if Mark ever has plans to make Lucius more, or if Trott would want that.

Sometimes I forget that Lucius can smash the human heart but then there he mentions in passing that he thinks everyone but him is important like that's just an obvious fact, and it's like. Oh yeah. Cripes.
I believe that Gratz knows what each card is and is trying to make the game seem a lot closer than it is because he gains pleasure from toying with them.

I think he does know but is unhappy with the cards as they are, perhaps the broken one is upright or his second card backed him into a choice where he either had to make the game interesting but left a chance for the PCs to win or easily win taking away some of the excitement. It could've also been the broken one is upright so he's annoyed there is an unavoidable chance for victory for his opponents.
@@Torlonus There is no way the Broken One is upright. It would be certain victory if it was, and unless the Eye of the Storm is severely damaged, it would have shown the upright Broken One.
@@aschurm didn't Hulmes say that it was because the cards were marked, but not in which direction they were pointing so that Gratz knew what he would have gotten if he picked a card?

What an intense game... amazing really. I think Qill's question was decent, but flawed in a way, it implied win the game based on points, when in reality the only card that would actually win them the game would have been the upright broken one, this is why the Demon prince is perfectly willing to give them points by choosing the reversed point cards, because he knows that his last card will be the one that win regardless of what the score is. So a better question maybe would have been "which card can win us the game instantly", because there is only one card that can do this, and it's the upright broken one.
Anyway, that was quite an epic little game, with an amazing cliffhanger. Awesome...

You know I would say the stakes are too high for them to lose but this is dnd, and in dnd the players can *always* lose. But also gratzz doesn’t roll when picking his cards, which means he doesn’t do it randomly, but also he doesn’t seem to have perfect insight into which ones are which? He might have some kind of Eye of the Storm-esque divination power but. The point is, I want to cheat by analyzing the narrative but also it’s free form and too many things can happen! scare

Can't Nova see through soild objects as an invocation. Which would have none of the tell of casting a spell? Playing fair is great too and all but...cheating is always safer, as long as you remember to wear protection.

That card game was frustrating to watch. Having not seen the next episode yet, the game isn't about points. It's about finding the Broken One in the upright position, and Quill had 3 questions and 2 players going ahead of him to find it, which he didn't use.
Obviously though, the Broken One is in the reversed position - otherwise, the question of "which card will win us the game" would have shown him the Broken One instead of the Dark Lord. It would have be a sleight of hand check to un-reverse it.

I mean the Demon prince won't be giving them te ring either way, no matter what, win or lose, the strong make the rules and the Aerois gang will be chased off the planet

Such a rigged game, the rule with the broken one makes so he can always win as its already put if reversed position
I feel it was pretty mean of Mark to even expend a charge from the eye when there clearly wasnt an answer, oh and the annoyance wasn't from him not knowing the cards it was from him not being able to go one below them with how the cards were laid like he did in the first round
Would been better to use the charge on asking about the secret deal as its most likely secret for a reason and could maybe been used as blackmail for him to forfeit
