Another thing that surprised me when I learned is that Ronin's sword block is by no means a directional shield. When you activate it, ronin is now taking 25% damage no matter what. Any source, any direction, it's reduced.
bruh i only play that fucker and even i didnt know that... i always thought u had to block in the direction its coming from ....
That is correct. You can also accelerate the animation by crouching!

@@konstantinivanov1717yeah. Animation takes a second normally and you mighg need that extra sec when a legion is about to powershot
Extra tip: if ur fighting against someone with a smart pistol, throw a grenade at them, it'll lock onto the grenade and detonate it before it shoots you
Thanks man, I will use it, but isn't it risky if the grenade explodes when it's still close to you?
You can actually reverse the roles and be the one with the smart pistol. If you only got one bullet left, throw a frag at your target and when its close to them shoot it, killing them with one smart pistol shit much faster

Legion tip here:
You can prevent Ronin's arc wave from doing any damage to your gunshield by looking at the direction of the arc wave and then quickly looking upwards at about 60 degree angle while the gunshield is active. This works even if the arc wave hits you and damages you, it still won't affect the gunshield.
You can propably guess how big of a surprise this is to the Ronin that tries to attack you. Bonus points for everyone who can start the power shot animation while looking at the sky and then move the reticle back at Ronin just before firing for extra punish.
Ion's Laser Tripwire is less an actual tripwire and more like an explosive wall that triggers if any enemy passes above it. It will also explode lethally a few seconds after the hard cooldown expires or instantly when Ion deploys a new tripwire; use this in high-traffic zones to catch pilots and titans off-guard.
Random tip of a holo pilot, the holos have a small health bar that will block that small amount of damage from the enemy but not from teammates or yourself, so you could form a holo wall moving or not to engage a player blocking some amount of damage and allowing you to shoot through them. Usually this is probably the least useful tactic for holos as scouting or deceiving is the better option. However up against certain weapons or abilities like Ion's laser shot or Northstar's railgun, it will block the shot preventing an instant kill and allowing you to deal more damage before retreating or dying. Very flipping niche but hey it's a random tip from a holo pilot
Great when in melee range. The enemy pilot will lock onto your holo pilot and be stuck in a long melee animation

idk how popular but you can insta-grab batteries/flags if you exit titan whilst you stand directly above it
If you get out of your titan while crouching (and maybe looking down) you disembark faster
As Scorch, while in a doomed state you use Flame Core and Eject at the same time. Is the perfect last ace when being overwhelmed by multiple titans or getting them trapped in a Flame & Nuke Core corner of DEATH.
Got killed by an Ion using the same strat.
You can also use a Stachel charge to boost yourself forward, but it does require better timing and you dont need to wait
Fun fact about Ronin. You can use that phase dash trick on Blackwater other places. Anywhere you can dash into that has a slope, if you phase and then regular dash almost immediately after, you combine the momentum of both, but the slope redirects it upwards. In Boomtown, opposite (by this I mean you need to go both under the bridge and turn around from the path, not mirrored opposite) the one pathway up onto the bridge in that little pathway in the middle of the map, there's a sloped destroyed wall you can phase dash + dash into to skip walking up the pathway. It's way easier to pull off than the Blackwater one, too, and the height you get is absolutely insane. You can dash again mid-air to really just lay on that extra aerial mobility and literally come down on people from angles they couldn't expect.
Northstar isn't the only titan who can fly, trust me.

The real smart pistol tip is to pull it out and chase people around without shooting.

I thought the whole point of the smart pistol was that is had terrible damage and was only a three shot headshot, hence the gun auto locking head shots
