This is the tool I made to cut the groove to bury my invisible dog fence perimeter wire. I just threw this together to get the job done. I have already modified it in my head but the job is done now.
You should make the video demonstrating the tool, after you make it, rather than the idea for the tool. That would be a lot more valuable to see how it worked.

This would also be a useful tool for burying ground radial wires for a HF (High Frequency) vertical antenna for use on amateur/ham radio.
I would think that an adjustable heavy metal wheel with a sharp edge would work nicely for invisible fence applications.

This allowed me to have a consistent depth all the way around the yard. Well, until my neighbor cut the line putting in a fence.
