      A pressure washer and a son or daughter 12-35 years of age feeding wire into the slurry with spool wheel works way way faster and with less hassle . 1-10th the time . The slurry will skeet dirt onto your lawn wich you go back after and rake into place but for the most part the soil resettles on top of the wire without much extra effort run your feed ramp on the wire wheeler about 1.5'' below the slurry and run it backwards so you don't fill the feed hole with slurry muck . It works without needing to rent wire digging tools and it works fast when you get your angle to spray correct. You can do it alone if your talented.

      Hello, I have a question for you in your personal opinion how would you set this up? I have a small yard roughly 25 x 15 ft and a 4 ft fence that my dog jumps. Where would you set the flags the distance from the fence to where I put the flags? And what number would I set my boundary? So he hears the beat before he jumps the fence? I hope this makes sense. Any help in this matter I would really appreciate thank you.

    That whole system made no sense to me. It doesn't stop loose dogs from coming in your yard and causing trouble. The time I installed the invisible fence I used a cable plow on my skid steer. To go under sidewalks and asphalt I used the 1/2 PVC and water to get it in. The inductive loop/twisted pair system used for traffic signals is based on the same principle although it measures current changes based on magnetic fields. It is impressive that your area looks so much better then here, you even have open fields near your home. It has been over 50 years since we had those.

    • @dianacarr5515
      @dianacarr5515 Před 6 měsíci

      I think if I understand your question correctly ...
      First - you must to have a complete loop (so you begin at unit, go around yard and come back into the unit in the second connector)
      The twisted wire cancels the signal so there is no shock, so places like gates and walkways.
      So when he exits the garage, each wire will go a different direction.
      My question is ...
      Once we start making our way around the property, how do we ... with one single wire ... twist the wire for gates etc that we want them to be able to pass through?
      Can you just backtrack and lay a triple twist?
      I know all the fences recommend no breaks or splices .... so curious how that works?
      i

    We back up to woods. What are your thoughts if I go two or three feet into the edge of the woods, but not bury the wire? Do you think a 16 gauge would be okay or should I use a 14 gauge. Also do you think I can just leave the wire on the ground or maybe use some lawn staples to pin the wire down.
    We live in northeast Ohio we do have bad winter weather. Along with deer, moles, squirrels and chipmunks.
    Thank you for your helpful video! Now I’m sure my daughter and I can install this fence ourselves!

      I think 16 gauge would be fine. Hope everything goes good for you. I think I would at least use some lawn staples. Thanks for watching

    Underground fences do NOT work!! They do not protect your dog from other dogs wondering around. Your dog can run through the underground fence and then they can't get back.

    Yikes! I certainly wouldn't want to be cutting in-to my concrete driveway! Nothing like introducing water (or ice) in-to the concrete, which we all know ice expands, causing cracking.
    Suggestion!!!! Never saw-cut your driveway for an installation like this, unless you already plan to replace your driveway within the next few years! That's just Stupid!

    • @DIYJIM
      @DIYJIM  Před rokem

      Thanks for watching, if my driveway was concrete I would saw cut it anyway so it would crack where I want it to. If you pour one large slab of concrete with no saw cuts you will have cracks were you do not want. Thanks for watching anyway. My black top driveway I seal every other year.
