Wow, what a crazy journey it’s been! Thank you to Josh for being such an incredible collaborative partner and brother (yes we are actual brothers) and thanks to all of you for your amazing support over the years. This is a big change after six years on the Brothers Green Eats channel and it didn’t feel right to just move on without sharing a little bit about what I’ve been going through over the last few years as well as the changes that are coming to this channel. I’ll be releasing one video a day for the next week on the subject of change and transition and then I’ll be back to food content on Monday (I swear).

    Wednesday - Video 3

On the one hand, I do see why people don't feel the need for a 5-part series of videos explaining why Brother's Green is disbanding: most are here primarily for the food videos and that's what they want.
However, viewers sometimes forget that Mike and Josh are also REAL PEOPLE, struggling with real life challenges. A 5 minute video just briefly touching on the bullet points of the breakup would feel like it is not doing justice to Mike, Josh and Brothers Green because it is something they struggled with personally behind the scenes WHILE they kept pumping out content over the past year(s). It might have been a bit chaotic and random at times, but that was also the beauty of it as we saw the dynamics between two brothers trying to collaborate and continue building something that was beautiful and worked for many years, but we were also witnessing a very relatable and inevitable facet of life unfolding where two people grow apart, struggle with accepting this and ultimately deciding to go their separate ways.
Mike and Josh are the authentic part of CZcams that I enjoy watching, and if they want to share their stories of their personal journey (cooking-related or not) I'm here for that (cooking techniques and life lessons, what more can a girl ask for!?). They are showing us a part of them that is usually reserved for close friends and family: exposing their vulnerability and sharing their personal struggles with millions of people on CZcams. This is not easy. So, before you guys start sharing your (negative) opinion and feeling entitled that they should 'stick to the cooking videos cuz that's what I wanna watch', think about the real people who are creating these videos that you watch on CZcams and have some compassion with their personal journeys.
Thank you, Josh and Mike for being true to yourselves and taking this big step and most of all, letting us be privy to this journey. I look forward to seeing how you both grow in your own ways! ❤️

I hope both brothers will have nice upcoming experiences, and hopefully people will be mature enough to understand that as viewers they are not entitled to anything. You watch if you like it and if not then watch some other video or head to another channel and opt for one of their videos that specific day the content here wasn’t a good fit.

Ryan Perrin well said. There seems to be an awful lot of discussion about preferring one style of content over the other and it’s unnecessarily divisive.
While I have always appreciated Mike’s cooking chops, quality and penchant for learning, if the purpose of TBH was to INSPIRE LOVE FOR COOKING then for me it has been Josh’s optimistic attitude and “if you had fun cooking it it was worth it” approach - Cooking Technique VS Cooking Philosophy.
This whole process has made me feel like I have to choose between these guys and it’s pretty clear to me who I’d rather hangout with.
Sorry, man but the last few rounds of content are riddled with Mike taking passive aggressive judgements at his brothers approach. He blends it in with generic compliments but it’s paper thin.
Maybe it’s because my brother and I are similar ages apart and I can relate to Josh as I am the older sibling and have the more gregarious personality between us.

With Amazon killing off our industry I have hung on for dear life and created small studio kitchen in the back of our store to do youtube videos about my true passion since I was a kid which was cooking. We are at the end of our rope and can no longer hold off the inevitable with our business having to close down soon. I am forced to adapt and put everything I got into our channel and doing uber eats and other deliveries on the side to pay my bills. I feel sad reading some of the comments here... I understand people come for the food, but Mike and Josh are people too. Two brothers doing this for years and years under the scrutiny of millions of people. It takes a lot of physical, mental and emotional capacity to do so and endure.
I followed you from Hungry and was ecstatic to find out you brothers had your own channel. I was in college and your videos mean a lot to me, taught me so many things. I noticed how different the two of you were, and watched you brothers change, grow and interact and react differently over the years.
I started to really realise you guys are people when there's marriage and you guys started living apart, doing your own thing, then Josh made his healing videos and talked about his journey and now this. Both of you are probably a few years older than me so it freaked me out a little how stark changes could be in life. It's like looking in a mirror of the future of what it might be for me. I mean, to embrace real life, observe how relationships change, getting out of comfort zones, battling our inner selves and things like that.
I applaud you brothers' courage in facing all this. If talking it out into a multi episode series is what you guys need to be better and stay strong, then please do so.
I wish you brothers a beautiful journey ahead. Stay safe, healthy and always strive for your happiness. Much love ♥.

Started some experiments yesterday with cooking a cheese burger and some home fries in the air fryer thanks to your inspiration. I cook a lot using the oven. There's an Italian Bertazzoni stove /convection oven in my Kitchen and getting parts and repairs during a pandemic has been super slow going. While I certainly enjoyed Josh's cooking, particularly his very creative "eat on X amount a day" series... and while I've subscribed to his channel to see what he's up to on occasion, of the two of you, I jive better with your instructional style. I loved the in-depth stuff like bone broth, fermentation, and 'fridge curing and particularly the recent "a week of food prep" (sorry can't remember the exact title). You do a start-to-finish, thorough exploration whereas Josh is kinda all over the place. What I liked of his the most was done more in your style i.e. the "how I ate on $3.00 a day" thing. Very start to finish. Since you two split videos with his move, your vids I tend to have a notebook for and very few of his make it into the notebook. I'm not saying I want you to "emulate" your brother, but I would like to see you do a "eat on $21 a week" challenge or "on the price of coffee a day" challenge *like* he did simply because I would be interested in how you, with your viewpoint, would handle such a challenge. I lived where you live once upon a time so I yeah, I started following Brothers Green about a year before I left. I still miss the availability as opposed to the "chain supermarket" I have here but still, that's what i'd like to see from you--budget conscious stuff-- because too much "budget" food starts with 2/$1 box mac & cheese on youtube (and elsewhere) and I am about "real food" and because I find your aesthetic jives better with me.. plus I know you'll do the start to finishness of it. Particularly incorporating different ethnic spicing and flavors. (Where I live now, If I want indian food I have to cook it myself-- I SO miss the Village). I'm explaining it badly but I hope you get what I mean. I'm looking forward to seeing where you go from here.
