Yeah.Absolutely unforgettable voice and personality! I never could get enough of Karen. I still can't stop smiling when she sings or laughing at her great wit and funny faces.Miss her so much!
Thanks for sharing this video. From some years on, up to 2021. There is a staff who installs and checks up sound and instruments. Artists come to rehearse and wait for the show to start. Back in the 70s, Carpenters had a very small staff and almost installed, checked, and rehearsed hours before the show. At the end of it, they had a lot of work to do, after meeting with fans.
I was just 8yrs old then when she died...but I heard a lot of her songs to my sisters ang my mom...But now I sang all her songs to Karaoke...my favourite CARPENTER. you are TRULLY A SUPERSTAR.
Interesting to see Karen set up and adjust her own drum kit. Reminds us of of how much touring artists had to do out there on the road back then. It's not like they just stepped out of a limo and hit the stage. They had to put in endless work to make these gigs come off "seamless."
"Karim Bennett" You so-articulately said what I have been thinking. These behind-the-scenes videos are so important to know that so much goes on behind a performance. It can be easy to forget. I was very young when the Carpenters made the music scene. I remember them but also I was so young that I now recall not being sure if they were husband and wife, or brother and sister. It is hard to believe that this footage was from the 1970s. Karen looks energetic focused on the music and no sign of illness.
I so agree that her smile lit up the entire stage!😃😃💐💐💐 And I think that she was really good with a little children🧸🎎💛! I believe Karen Carpenter would have been great with children!🎎🧸💛❤️😊!! In fact, Karen Carpenter was popular before I was born and when I was a child. I only wish I could have known her. 💛🌹💛🌹💛🌹💛🌹💛🌹💛🌹
Nice video. I have to say that in all of the video's I've ever seen of the carpenters Karen's appearance seems perfectly normal. Never has she appeared overweight or chubby even in some of the early stuff. I wish she could have understood just how normal and beautiful she was. Clearly her anorexia nervosa effected her perception of herself. Hopefully we've made progress in treating this terrible disorder for those affected by it today.

I wish they had realized back then how empowering it was to have Karen behind the drums. Yeah, she was great out in front, but she was in her element at the drum set! I wish I had see more of this in the 70s, but they had already pushed her in front by the time I saw them on TV.
