Would you believe the first time through this ride, I closed my eyes and just listened? The sound of the steam engine and the blowing of an actual steam engine horn. Then with the eyes open, wow. The scenery was great, and it did not matter if the train was going 8 KLM. The men who loaded the coal in the engines were a tough bred. If you think no, go try it. I started from the oldest video on this website and could hardly wait till I reached this one. Thank you for posting this amazing train and ride. Merry Christmas and to all a goodnight.
@iris gallegos It is true. I admire the hard work of all the volunteers on Furksa steam train, it is their dedication and work that keeps this line operational.

Sorry for the 2nd comment. I forgot to write that the steam train itself is gorgeous and beautiful. I also should have written that the sound of the steam engine whistle was fantastic. Not horn.
I just wonder why they even considered building a railway line all the way over the Furka Pass, they had the tunnelling expertise so why did they not just build the base tunnel then and save a horrendous amount of time and effort. That being said, I am glad they did, so I can watch a great journey over the mountain !

I was suppose to film another steam train, but they changed the locomotive for Crocodile because of the open fire ban. And then a friend of mine found out that Furka steam train is running....the landscape is astonishing and the people are very friendly. Greetings from Slovenia.
@Paolo for sure there are more beautiful places around the world. Travelling around I have seen so many amazing places and still there are many, many more...
