lol talk about the character for haste, quite a lot of thief's animation with characters are Chinese words
-The word appeared when using Flash jump for both Shadower and Nightlord means fly [飛] (Its different for dual blade, which is interesting enough since dual blade is the only explorer thief that doesnt take job advancement from dark lord
- The 5 words appeared when using Savage Blow means sky[天], flow[流], blood[血], slash[斬], and kill[殺]
-the word appeared when using Shuriken Burst means fire [炎]
-the word appeared when using Gust Charm means wind [风]
-not sure, but the word in the middle of Frailty Curse might be [恼] which means annoyance

i assume they just used the default translation for the words and the translation team didn't touch haste, flash jump etc.
The jr neckis thing always bothered me. I remember me and my friends scoured every map we could find back in the day trying to find adult neckis. We even got stuck in a few places and had to get rescued by higher level players.
Necki is totally gonna be a level 350 boss someday with 1 Quintillion hp.
On Commerci trade ship, there's a fake "dead pixel" drawn in the background, around the eye level of character, in middle of the ship.
I actually knew most of the in-game weird stuff

About sitting on the bench in towns,
If you press down key, sit function key, and jump key together perfectly, you can sit on nothing at the platform below the bench.

3:00 - There are actually adult Neckis! They're just in Mu Lung for some reason.
The Red/Blue Flower Serpents drop etc items called Necki Flower and Necki Swimming Cap, respectively :D
I'll contribute some of my own useless Maplestory info based on my own experience and knowledge.
- There used to be a hidden map in the swamps of Kerning City, top left of the ropes upon climbing, where you could find Zombie Lupins.
- In Henesys Market, where the ground lowers to the left of the ladder of the general store, if you walk off the edge, jump down, and turn around, you will fall down through the map.
- There was a man who was murdered over an in-game marriage in Maplestory. (Mentioned in one of the old Guinness World Records books from before 2010).
- Upon Luminous's release in KMS, there was a bug that caused you to stay level 200 even after completing the tutorial.
- You can't pick a different skin tone upon character creation in KMS.
- Zakum's minion spawn animations has illuminati symbols
- If you press a hotkey for a Giant Potion at the same time as that of a chair, the chair will grow too. This also works if you press Giant Potion at the same time as a Boss Transformation potion; I've become a colossal Von Leon before.
- This next one is really unknown, and I've never been able to find information on it ever, but it scared the living shit out of me for a week, and it's all completely true. I still remember it clearly from almost a decade ago (call it bullshit if you want, but I still have the vision of what I saw and heard):
( - ) There used to be an NPC in Omega Sector at the doors to the silo, named Dr. Bing. If you talked to him at a certain sequence and timing, the client would warp in horrific ways. From here on, Ludibrium would play a twisted, reverse form of the background music, and the screen would appear in greyscale. Then, returning to Dr. Bing in Omega Sector and talking to him, would cause unintended dialogue to appear without any buttons for Next, Yes or No. The background music would then suddenly turn into an extremely loud loop of high-pitched, painful screaming. You'd probably have had to shut down the computer to stop it.
There was only 1 person who I've seen this occur through, who was a user of the Maplestory tag on Tumblr. She had a video of the incident that was deleted the next day, and I've never heard anyone else talk about it. Nexon has removed Dr. Bing the NPC, too, after the changes to Omega Sector during the implementation of the M-Force storyline (yet they kept all the other idle NPCs that are still in Omega Sector).
The fact I remember when the pirate explorer class was released makes me feel old.. I even remember when Cygnus knights could only max out at 120
FangBlade was (and idk if he still is) married to Starlightzz, the second level 200 in Bera. I was outside the wedding hall when it was happening! Good times.

The potion trick in ropes was used in Orbis ship to avoid teleporting to the lower outside part of ship, and to gain access to the lower level of the inside ship deck. It was, and is still consistent (and infinitely useable) if you unequip pets and use pet food as the spamming potion, since it can't be consumed without pet, but it will try to be consumed, well, when being consumed :D

With all these new updates and everything to min max these days this is one of the best videos of maplestory recently, both nostalgic and really relaxing to watch. On the other hand I remember back in the days when my friend got the “I’m a lucky guy” medal but he sold it for a ton of meso. I didn’t know the medal was that rare actually before watching this, only knew it was only very few obtained.

Also, some people think Evan doesn't count since he's Freud's successor and Eunwol (aka Shade's korean name) is the actual E in MAPLE. Freud . . . well, guys, put F in the chat. He's the only hero not alive in modern day Maple.

@@GM.Nobody Haha, yeah that works too. Although I think the Explorer names spelling out S-T-O-R-Y makes a tiny bit more sense XD.
But then, there is a loophole to that one too. Technically the player's name is Kao, because of Vanishing Journey and the Amnesic Priest questline in the Temple of Time and all that. Then it would be S-T-O-R-K lmao. So I guess, yeah, maybe Freud being the "STORY" does make sense.
If you wear the sauna robe while in the sauna your natural hp/mp recovery will be multiplied by 1.5. Sitting on a chair or bench (an actual one on the map, not a chair item) that will also increase natural recovery by 1.5. If you have a skill that improves hp/mp recovery, doing the above two things will multiply them.
So if you had the warriors improve hp recovery skill, a sauna robe on, and sitting on a bench while in a sauna you'd recover 135 hp every ten seconds.
Or you could just use a potion...
In Maple Europe
Cygnus Knights came to Maple before Pirates were even introduced
so playing Thunder Breaker was the only way to play as a pirate for a couple months
the NUMPAD trick was used a lot for APQ haha

Another useless tidbit: You can Leave Von Leon boss room by interacting with the pillar on the far right side.
In Fox Point Village (Shade tutorial area) there's a gap in the floor of Tumbleweed's house that you can only get through with a flash jump. Stand at a certain spot on the table and flash jump towards the exit portal. If done correctly, you'll fall through the floor.

@@sinnerslight You need to complete Friendstory up to the party where Orchid gives you her phone number, then you need to call her daily between 9 - 10 PM CET (not sure how to convert it to PST), call her for 30 days straight and you'll get the chair!
I suggest setting up and Alarm, it can be easily forgotten :P

There used to be a way to sit on a chair while mounting on the pig. Just need to time it correctly.
You can also make yourself sit on an invisible chair by jumping down from an actual chair (2 platforms)

Not sure if it still works, but you could use pet food instead of potions to avoid teleporting while on ladders. This is how we could walk around the cabin during the ship to orbis

here's one for u that u probably don't know, vellum, drops fafnir eqps, in which fafnir is a dragon without wings in norse mythology which spits poison, so vellum is based off of fafnir the dragon

The birds at Pathfinder town is name after ancient ruins. Fafnir means wolf, so hence the item have a wolf theme. Xenon actually is spelled Nexon backwards. I would love to hear more from this useless info series!
No, Nexon backwards would be Nonex. However, If you swap the X and the first N then You would get Xenon!

Another fun fact is Xenon's english voice actor is the same as Felix from Fe 16 (Three Houses).

hey coppersan! i am really new to the game, i ve never played it before and i just started (im at level 78 rn) , i joined the server Luna, but now some ppl said me that i should ve join reboot because its way better for f2p player.. i dont really know what to do. is playing in Luna way harder than reboot?
No worries! The regular server (not reboot) is easier unless you want to invest long term into maplestory. Only if you want to go really deep in the end game reboot is cheaper to play at. Luna is also more populated
