Never disappoints! Zachary Levi (Shazam!, American Underdog) joins me this week to catch up on how heâs holding up mentally and what the process of shooting a football biopic over the last couple years was like with American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story.
Zach delves very deep into what it means to love oneself and how that not only affects our own lives but others as well.
We discuss relationships with our mothers, the imminent return of Chuck, and the difference between love and like.

No matter what Zachary Levi does, or how big he gets, i still think of him as "Chuck". One of the coolest shows ever. Super wise dude too. Smart, insightful.
Chuck is dopeđ hope they make that movie
Zachary Levi is Dax Sheppards less cool cousin lol
More worried about his fsce redgment then his material or substance
Heâll always be Arcade Gannon to me lol!
@@MrNncon Dax is the more typical cool guy, where Zach is the nerd cool. But outside of that, agreed. He just seems like a straight up good, fun dude
So many great guests over the years but Zachary Levi might be the best. Heâs like listening to a therapist talk. Heâs so knowledgeable and helpful. Please have him on more. Iâd go so far as to say he should be a co-host.
Zach is awesome for medical psychology... Such a positive force. We need more Zachs in this world.
Iâd go see Zach Levi movies even if I thought his roles were trash because he is truly what every person with opportunity and talent should be: humble and honest. Just true emotions and feelings on display. Big, big fan.
Chuck is most best underrated show
I love how Zachary Levi understands depression
I am so in love with this man!!! He is absolutely beautiful, inside and out!!! đ„°
Yes for Chuck movies. Zachary Levi is awesome. Love to see more of him. The man behind the actor. I look forward to Shazam 2.
I saw American Underdog on Christmas Day, and Zach did a great job playing Kurt Warner. I was crying near the end.
Same! I cried half the movie I feel đ what a wholesome heartwarming movie!
Michael is so underrated as an interviewer and host. Great interview and show. So many good points on both sides of the chairs. Great therapy session for me and I'm sure for most people watching and listening. Also very entertaining. Looking forward to the next one.
completely agree. Makes me realize how fake the talk show interviews like Fallon and Kimmel are. Really enjoy the celebrity interviews on this podcast as we actually get to know them as a person.
Great interview and very eye opening. Thanks, Michael and Zachary !!!
Zachary, Michael... two persons that make this world a better place with their big hearts... đ
Seeing the grey in Zachary Levi's hair combined with him being a good actor makes me think he would be a good Reed Richards in Fantastic 4.
I understand that⊠but also FOR ME⊠seeing the gray in his hair, and seeing more gray in mine--coupled together with new and younger MUSIC/Entertainment artist (Juice WRLD as an example RIP- and seeing them come and go), and having diabetes for over a decade-- makes me feel OLD. đ Not sure if Iâm completely okay with that feelin yet. đ
Yes!!!
I've heard that people want to see John Krazinski as Reed and Emily Blunt as Sue Storm... some people think Zach and John could be brothers, so Zach as Reed makes sense too! đđ (either would be great, IMO)
I have so much love for Zach Levi and his outlook on life and how open he is about his depression and anxiety. He helps me remember there are still good people in the world. Thank you Michael for having him on your podcast. đđđŒđ»đżđŠ
Short version: I've been a fan of Zachary Levi's work, and now I'm a fan of *him*.
I haven't seen everything he's ever done, but I loved 'Chuck' and I thought he was excellent in 'Shazam.'
He looked like he was really in touch with his inner child as Shazam, and his character looked like he was having so much fun; it was a joy for me to watch.
Zachary's smile is infectious; Thank you, Zachary, for letting us get a glimpse inside of you.
he also voiced flynn rider in tangled
This is such a treat. Love when Zachary Levi is on. He speaks such truth always.
That was the best episode by far. I went through so many memories and emotions throughout the episode, from my dad and mom, to just the inner voices in my head saying exactly what he was saying. I'll be sharing a link to this on my Facebook account and I can only hope to get to a place in myself that Mr. Levi has gotten too. I'm really excited for the upcoming year of episodes...đ
âFEELING in love and actual PRACTICED love are two very different thingsâ
I was just taken to church and therapy and I donât know what to do about it. Such a good episode.
Love this candid conversation, kudos to Zachary! Michael kudos to you too!
Zachary Levi made me stop what I was doing to make my bed. Seriously. More "Chuck?" Dude, I'm in!
Thank you Zach for being such a voice on mental health. As someone who struggles with it everyday. Thank you for speaking on it and being a voice! Thank you man.
Zachary is what made me want to listen to this podcast. What an insightful, genuine and super vulnerable gentlemen. Thank you Rosey for this platform, and Zach.. you are such a gift. Thank you for sharing your journey đ
Levis episodes always hit different. Love that guy, love you too for opening up this form for people to just be real about life!
What a kick ass way to start the New Year!! Love Zachary and the work he does for mental health awarenessđđ». You two always have such deep and powerful conversations. Thank you Rosey ⊠Have a great week everyone! đ

They need to do a Chuck tv reunion because that show was so much fun with amazing guest stars and recurring stars.
I'm not religious, but I appreciate his views on religion. It's positive without being judgmental. Mercy without arbitrary punishments.
Wow Zachary Levi is quite the man. An enjoyable and thought provoking interview.
You could say...he's a five star man.
Without a doubt one of the most profound interviews I have ever listened to. Loved Zach since day one of Chuck and Michael your series is just amazing.
When I saw that you had Zachary Levi as this week's guest, I knew I was in for a great interview with a great guest. His faith is inspiring. He's unapologetic in his faith and that's refreshing too.
I love this about him too!! ait is really inspiring!
unapologetic in his faith = Uses faith as excuse for immorality
@@creasefold1986 did you even listen to this episode? He literally is the opposite and spoke about it blatantly. I'm atheist and not a fan of religion in general, but he is absolutely one of the most genuine and least hypocritical religious person I think I've ever seen
@@JoshMooreCodes He worships the god of the bible, that same god sanctions slavery and gives rules on how to make a slave one for life. He may be the nicest guy ever but he glorifies hideous inhuman acts, even passively.
Yesssss!!! I love love love when Zach is on! His episodes are always so insightful and honest and I absolutely adore your friendship and connection. Perfect way to start another wonderful year of IOU! Love you, Rosey đ
â€ïž
I feel like Zach called me out several times. đ His energy is infectious, what a man. He's right though, I need to start working on loving myself and to start addressing these issues.
I love Zach so much. It always helps me mentally when he's on. Thank you.
This weekâs episode was POWERFUL! Zac definitely opened up and he had so many great insights. It is definitely important to be awake to things. This episode definitely stays with the listener. Michael thank you for bringing us great episodes week after week.
Some beautiful poetry spoken by Levi here, loved hearing what he had to say about self-love and forgiveness. A lot of it touched on a current phase I am in, so it really hit home.
I love it when Zack comes on! his passion for mental heath awareness is admirable & heâs a genuinely wonderful humble human being! we need more people like Zack on this earth!
Rosey you are a great host & interviewer! â€ïž you have a talent for making your guests feel at ease, your show feels like home! looking forward to more đ€© #InsideOfYouPodcast
HAPPY HAPPY 2022! đ„łđđ»
ANOTHER Zach Levi Episode? Bro, you're too good to us...
Met Zachary in 2019 at my local ComicCon and he was the nicest, coolest dude
Zach is always such a good guy to have on the show. so real and down to earth and someone who just wants everyone to be happy. very cool dude
This was such an awesome interview. Gave me a new appreciation of Zach Levi. He came across as a wonderful person. Thanks Michael for having him on.
Loved Zach Levi on "Chuck". In seeing interviews afterward, he seems super down to earth and normal. Bottom line, will definitely see anything he has a role in.
Zachary, thank you for being so candid and open. I'm going through some things with my mom and teaching myself to forgive her. She's been through her own trauma and I have to remind myself of that. It's hard though. God Bless, Zachary and Michael. This was a wonderful episode.
The gratitude thing really hit me.i have always gotten more out of the person's gratitude after an act of kindness than the actual act itself. I respect the hell out of the act but the reaction of the person on the receiving end, is what brings the tears to my eyes
What a way to kick off 2022! I absolutely love you two together. Really hope we can still do the live show with you two sometime soon.
That last 30 mins is why we share these with everyone we know and love. Zach is so amazing.
Zach is one of the few good guys in Hollywood.
I Would love a Chuck movie. I loved that show
Now Zachary back. I love when you bring these big timers back again and again. To hear their thoughts, as they evolve, the new things they learn, the things we all need to hear. #chuckforever Thanks Rosey for always making our Tuesdays great. â€ïž Much love!
Team Chuck!
Zachary Levi is very inspiring. I really enjoy him as a guess.
I have and will continue to pray for Zach. Sometimes I go back and watch Chuck or see an interview or podcast of Zach and remember to pray for him. We all need each other to pray for the best in each others' lives.
Fuckin' love this guy. How real he is. How compassionate and self-aware. I love that he's still fighting for more Chuck, and I can't wait till it finally happens.
Zachary Levi is SUCH an amazing person, funny and kind. truly one of the best "celebrity-meeting" experiences i've ever had.
6:37 âTrying to get in shape.â Dude, youâre already shredded. Wish I was where you are at.
Love this guy! Still waiting on the chuck movie!!
Thank you. Michael, for inviting Zac again and I love the idea of having him back in the studio with you more often. :-)
Eugene, chuck, shazam... Love him in all these characters â€ïžđ. Love this interview
Chuck fan here, ok so Rosenbaum will be a main villain in "Chuck vs To be determined" Envisioning Gal Gadot in some roll as a nemesis to Yvonne's Sarah Walker. (I hear Gal will be cameo-ing in Shazam 2 so Zach should be able to book her for the Chuck movie) Could you imagine a throw down with Yvonne vs Gal it is gold!!!
Zach full on preaching to Michael. Love it! đđŒđđŒđđŒ
A lovely episode with Zachary levi, he is such a beautiful soul. I love your show đ
Damn Zach can sure talk. I really appreciate that this episode was about a lot of mental health rather than just stories from sets.
Hits me right in the heart. I love when the two of you talk. â€ïž
I've got nothing to say more than that I love Zachary Levi. You're alright too Rosie.
I adore Zachary Levi and I'm so thankful to have found this wonderful podcast by you Michael! I hope more and more people find this channel. Will be sharing will everyone.
Michael, thank you for creating a space where beautiful, positive, loving and REAL conversation can be had. This was very moving and was exactly what I have been needing. Thank you. And thank Zach for being so open and giving. I appreciate you both!
Thanks for this episode. Zachary Levi is always an awesome and bright spot on this show. Really admire his outlook, and what a cry on my way to work!
This made me like Zach even more đ„°
I just watched âAmerican Underdogâ thanks to this interview. I really enjoyed the film.
I felt Zac was very brave speaking about the things that he did. I wish him well on his continued journey.
This episode really resonated with me. I have ADHD along with depression and anxiety and didn't get a diagnosis as an adult until last year at the age of 37. It really opened my eyes to all the problems I've had in my life and that I needed help and medication in order to start healing and becoming a healthy person. I started taking Wellbutrin and Concerta and the difference in my life is absolutely incredible. Since I've started taking medication, I wake up early every morning, I exercise, I meditate, I eat three meals a day, I read, I keep my apartment clean and organized. To many people this just seems normal, but for me it is something I have literally never experienced until starting medication. And feeling normal and positive feels far better than anything I have ever felt in the past.
So thank you Michael and Zachary for being open and honest about your own mental health struggles and for encouraging others that have mental health struggles similar to myself to see a doctor and getting medicated, and telling people that there is no shame in medication. It means so much to me to hear people that I grew up watching in high school and young adulthood go through the same struggles that I do, and that there is nothing wrong with being the person I am and getting the help I need.
Thank you for the podcast, and please continue being honest and authentic about your mental health, because it really does make a difference.
Now that's what a MAN ON FIRE FOR GOD looks like!!! I love his outlook on life, he is a shining example of how it should be done. Peace and love y'all đ€
Wow! Nice start of 22 Rosey đ€©
Zach is such a good guy, loved this episode! All the love, best podcast out there â€ïž
Zachary needs a podcast of his own. I could listen to his wisdom all day.
So true. He might actually become as popular as Joe Rogan. Purely comparing numbers not the content. He can bring CHUCK cast occasionally to talk about as well. đ
terrific episode! Thank you so much Michael and Zach for being so knowledgable and open! Much love
I've been on meds since I was 17 I'm now 30 i appreciate zacs words I'm not a religious man myself but can respect his perspective: ) stay safe
Thank you Zack for your pure honesty! So refreshing to see someone be so open about his journey. Thank you Michael for being an awesome interviewer and listening and letting Zack open up! â€ïž
Chuck in the house awesome. Zachary Levi as Billy Batson/Shazam is the perfect casting. He represents the audience and the fans. It's sad that Fandral based of Errol Flynn because of his boyish charm got killed off in Thor: Ragnorak but had it not been for that we wouldn't have Shazam today.
My fav duo!!! Hope youâre well, rosie!!
Damn. Zach dropping a lot of truth about self love and mental health. I'm not religious at all, I identify as an agnostic metaphisic, and he nailed it.
In grief therapy I wrote a letter to my my too, when i review my life timeline with Moms, so much to forgive and to ask forgiveness, helped so much. Love ya Zach!!
Your amazing Zack đđŸ
Oh Zach â€ïžđ€. Thank you for sharing so much⊠your ability to forgive is⊠admirable. Thank you Rosie for providing a platform to express these emotions. Loves to you both!
So excited for this one. Iâm a huge fan of Zac Levi.
Bolth of you guys have given so much to your fans over the years I as a fan am so thankful for you and your great effort to entertain us.. God is with you my friends ..
This was a great interview, it makes me think of a quote:
Make a list of things that stress you.
Check off the those things you can't control.
Now focus on the things you can control.
Oh, man! So excited if they do new Chuck. I LOVE the show! My nephew who is now 18 loves it, too! We both have seen every single episode. Thanks for all the discussion today. I am a religious person but have been struggling with pandemic anxiety. You've helped me today. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Man... Was not expecting Billy Batson to give me the talk I seriously needed. Amazed at how open he is
What a powerful podcast! đȘđ»
Thank you, Michael, for inviting Zachary and for being open for these important topics!
Zachary, thank you for sharing your story and being so open and vulnerable đđ»
I'm also on that journey and you encouraged me to follow my path đ«
Looking forward to the next dialogue with you two! â€
"I believe I farted in front of you" -- "You did" -- "I apologize"
Oh man i'm in tears
The best thing to find on this Tuesday! Just listened to Zachary's from last year in the past week and this is such a nice surprise! :)
The concepts of humanizing/dehumanizing ourselves is powerful. It's even more powerful when applied to our parents. I really like what Zach said about that. We are all traumatized children raised by traumatized children. My parents were traumatized children and they did the best they could raising me. I am a traumatized child and I did the best I could raising my children. My children are traumatized children and they will do the best they can raising my grandchildren.
I think that being able to recognize and accept this is the first step toward healing this kind of trauma.
Fuck I love Zachary, thank you for your open heart. My relationship through my mom is contextualized by listening to you. Please comeback on this pod again and again. Or do a monthly pod just for the wisdom. I love you, I love you, I love you man. From the bottom of my heart.
Michael, I have always been such a fan of yours, and my older sister is a huge fan of Zachary's. On a personal note, my family and I are having a hard time right now. I am being treated for depression, so I know how it is. My sister and I are in the middle of a "Chuck" marathon, and we have been laughing so hard and having so much fun watching the show. Point is, if Zach starts feeling low or bad about himself, I'd like him to know that he has made thousands of people laugh, my sister and me included. Tell him thanks. He's helping me get through a hard time.
Thank you for this conversation. I am truly grateful for your story, and sharing. â€ïž
Lex and Chuck?! I am so happy!
If you could have Zac on your show every month, I'd always watch it. He's always an amazing guest.
This episode was heavy. Nice to know Zach is actually nice the way he posts, a lot of the things he said are things I agree with and live by. He just pushes himself to be a better person and grow and that's beautiful.
Wow, I loved Zachary's religious side, I never expected that.
Thanks for this episode. Great start for the New Year. Zachary Levi is amazing and inspiring. I always look forward to hearing him.
Great interview!!! Thank you Michael for letting Zach open up like he did. I feel truly touched. Please have him on again; it was one of the most genuine interviews I have ever heard.
The annual Zac Levi episode! Canât wait to listen to this. We just had Tom Welling and now I believe weâll need a Stephen Amell episode to get our Inside of You trifecta. âșïž
Edited: I watched and Levi is my absolute favorite guest. Heâs enlightening, inspiring, and so captivating to watch. Love this man & his friendship with Rosey!
thanks for such an incredible podcast..all 3 previous podcasts with Zachary levi was good but this one is just the most incredible one. will save this one..listening to this itself is the start of a healing process..God bless him, his soul!
hope the world gets to hear this!
Love Chuck. I watched with my husband (he hadnât seen) and I wanted to watch it all again before the last episode even finished.
I love Zachary Leviâs understanding and articulation about depression, loving yourself and just being alive. I have suffered from depression and low self esteem pretty much my whole life and this has spoken to me more than any doctor or therapist ever has.
As a type 1 diabetic Iâve used that analogy of why is needing insulin for the rest of my life ok but antidepressants for my clinical depression isnât and it actually helped my mother in law understand why I still need the pills.
Listened to part of this episode on my way to work. Michael I wish you the best with your New Years resolutions. Zac always opens up. I look forward to finishing this one. Inside of you Tuesday is back!
