      They have a mini Kiss arcade game maybe you can get it and would love to see you review it.

    These were the best two cabs in terms of all the little details. Kick plate, lock bar, metal control panel, wear and tear on Frenzy, etc.. just beautiful pieces of art for us arcade nuts :)

    These NWT cabs just keep getting better and better with each release. The Frenzy cab in particular has some great distressed elements, peeling paint, flickering marquee, damage to the sides, etc. It has the look of a long since forgotten game still limping on in a dark and dusty corner. Awesome stuff 👍👍.

      They really do seem to make a new improvement with each and every release they have. They even have the flickering marquee effect on this Berzerk cabinet when you choose to play Frenzy

      Agreed, New Wave Toys is such a great company when it comes to executing the fine details of what makes a game special

    CoolToy,
    A bit of a rocky start for me with this one, but it all turned out great in the end. I was SO HAPPY that New Wave Toys decided to make this machine. One of my all time favorite arcade machines. I was kind of disappointed at first as I could only coin in on the game with the mini coins as I couldn't find the traditional places used to do this on the coin doors (as an aside, coining in with the mini coins also worked on their Ghosts 'n Goblins and Ghouls 'n Ghosts machines as well). I then had to crack open the manual and it said to hit the coin return button to coin in. I found the area on the front that was labeled coin return, but it wouldn't depress or add a credit. I then tried to open the coin door to retrieve my coins as it seemed to be the only way to coin in, but I couldn't open the coin door. I looked in the manual and it said the coin door doesn't open. WHAT???!!! So I reached out to New Wave Toys support for help. It took them awhile to get back with me, but when they did, they let me know the manual was wrong and the coin door did open. I had to use a small pair of pliers and really force it open, but it eventually opened. They then explained to me that the coin return was actually a different button, not the one labeled Coin Return. As soon as I pressed that button, I was able to coin in that way.
    I feel that Berzerk didn't receive the quality control it needed for this release, but at least everything is working now. Oh, and I love that the flickering marquee if you change it to play Frenzy. Nice touch :)
    I hope New Wave Toys can learn from the mistakes made with their Berzerk. These replicas are getting up there in price and I expect the same quality.
    Have a great one!

      The flicker when playing Frenzy on the marquee is really neat. My wife walked past me when I was playing it and said, “looks like your machine is broke” I told her it’s meant to do that, she “that’s really weird” and walked away 😆
      I have a hell of a time opening their coin doors myself. Bent back many fingernails over the years trying to pry those things open. I’ve finally wisened up enough to give up and just use tweezers and save myself the headache.

      Come on it was not quality control. It was you.

    As I watched this video tonight I was reminded of The Joker in the OG Batman movie musing "Where does he get those wonderful toys?" You sir, have the coolest stuff and named your channel appropriately.

    One thing I noticed was that when they upgraded to the metal control panel they lost rise on the buttons and as a result they seem very flat.

    PS: Great Review and just fyi, I believe they actually started allowing the coins to be inserted for credits on the Ghosts n Goblins and Ghouls n Ghosts cabs. I'll have to check but I believe they were the first cabs to allow those inserted for credits.

      I don't believe I actually said this was the first machine to allow coin op to add credits, I believe I just mentioned this was a feature of the newer Replicade machines, because yes the GnG machines did it first.

    My main gripe is that it's 1/6 as opposed to 1/4 of Numskull so the screen size is smaller..about 3.5 or 4 as opposed to 5" on the Numskull's.

      Hope you enjoy it! Did you go with the Frenzy or Berzerk cabinet on your order?

    • @TiltingT
      @TiltingT Před 3 měsíci +2

      @cooltoy I went with Berzerk.. I didn't care for the "used/beat up" look of the Frenzy and felt it wouldn't fit in my lineup as all of my other NWT cabs look like brand new cabs

    • @cooltoy
      @cooltoy  Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@TiltingT that’s the best choice in my opinion

      no need for it in these mini arcade games.

    I hope Atari puts both of these game in the next update for the Atari 50 Anniversary Celebration or at least add them to the pathetic Berzerk: Recharged. I’m not paying $200+ for a micro cabinet that’s hard to see or play.

    Wasn't impressed with this cabinet to be honest. Doesn't feel as solid as my dragons lair and space ace cabs. Why the volume and power on the top and not at the back. Also my HDMI out doesn't work. Nothing in menu to change sound from cab to HDMI. Ive tested 3 cables that all work on my other cabs. Unfortunately i wont be purchasing any other releases and would of liked a dragons lair 2 or gauntlet cab.
