Telefon Tel Aviv may have been one of them. I just checked out the video for A Younger Version Of Myself. They definitely have some interesting sounds going on. I enjoyed it. It was good to hear that your revisit into their music was a good one. I have listened to quite a few albums that did not jump out at me on the first few listens. But for some reason years later they clicked. >< I have not listened to Mississippi J Hurt in ages. Another fine suggestion. That original pressing has got to be hard to find. Most of the iconic blues artists sections in the Boston area used record shops are usually empty. The only ones I have been seeing are the newer represses. Which is great for anyone like myself who cannot find the originals. I should have bought them when they were still selling for under ten dollars. {smile} Have a great weekend Dan. it seems wild I could ever successfully reach anyone with a suggestion, but that's the power of this community! / one of my favorite Tel Aviv tracks is 'The Birds' with its catchy, simple vocal above its vivid instrumental. I have used it as an alarm tone / I was surprised to find 'Today!' for that price, nowadays. couldn't leave it ... / a couple of months ago I really thought I might not do these videos anymore, but I welcome the change of heart. you help with that Rob, thank you!
Hey Dan, that Geo Benson CTI album is one I've never seen before, but being on CTI it's probably decent. Does it have Van Gelder in the Dead Wax? Mississippi John is really hard to come by too. Nice albums.
It does have VG! I have seen and brought home so many Benson albums over the years, still have several good ones in the collection, but that one seemed new to me somehow. Thanks Eddie!
