Thanks for the support! 🎸
Thank you, Marshall! This thing rocks. (not surprising). Thanks for having me on board! 😃
MAY Mr. Marshall ROCK in peace, the father of LOUD! \m/

@@wesleyc.4937 SHAKE it!
This is the perfect balanced Marshall amp for home or small gigs. That is definitely at the top of my list to be acquired. Well done for bringing and demonstrating this and, Marshall… Just Thank You for existing (and innovating)! \m/
I think it's great that a major amp maker finally made a left-handed amp.
Shane, it's no surprise Marshall would send you all that equipment to demo. Your reviews are excellent! Everybody who's follows you knows that.
Thanks, Paul! Much appreciated.
These Studio models are awesome! Taking an extremely loud amp and making it usable for home use is brilliant! You make it sound so amazing mate!!!😎😎😎🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Marshall deserve to sell a ton of these amps, valves not dead! Love it❤
That's what I keep thinking, despite the Tonemaster, Fractal Audio, Kemper, modellers, various brands keep making valve/tube amps ..and people keep buying them
This amp captures perfectly the classic tones that created the British blues invasion. I love how it cleans up from the guitar…it sounds incredible! Great work mate!
Thanks, Ric! Your video will be up in the next two days. Enjoy your time in England! 😎
A Marshall and a guitar in your hands is musical nirvana Ric!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸
LUCKY he got a LEFT handed model too! They don't make many! \m/
Dr Ric’s vid popped up last night, must have been a special preview!
Wow, I was really impressed on the tones you got out of it, sounds really good. Thanks for the demo Shane, you’re a killer player
A huge thank you to Marshall for letting me a part of this release and sending this out all the way from the UK! This amp is a lot of fun, and I love the 5-watt/20-watt option! Plug in, turn it up, and enjoy! What an amp.🤘Check it out below.

Awesome! Do you get to keep it?
@@mikedfurman Yes. It'll be featured in more videos coming up.
@@intheblues Lookn fwd to that. 👍
@@intheblues Fantastic!!
Finally! A Marshall amp that has the sound I've been searching for. Definitely on the short list!
Man thats a killer amp!! You're so lucky to get your hands on one, especially in Aus. Big props to Marshall.
Man, I feel honoured they asked me to contribute to this release. It's such a great amp. Many thanks.
This is some of your best playing yet imo, love the tones from this thing
Channel jumping is the way to go on this amp. What an 'eye-catchy' piece of old school amp with some new 'smarts' technology. The sounds are great, particularly with single-coils strat. Good review. And how lucky are you getting to test all this good gear! 😀👌
This thing is simply killer and you did a great demo as usual Shane. I'm really glad that Marshall sent you this amp. I love the look and the sound of this amp.
Thanks for the kind words mate. I put a lot of work into my videos (and this one in particular to showcase what it can do). Cheers :)
Great Review. I bought this amp recently and am blown away by the sheer versatility of amazing tones. Once again Marshall's studio series simply rocks.
Great job as always. That is a great amplifier and my favorite Marshall over-all. I want one!
Oh man that is so sweet playing
Excellent demo and review Shane ... sounds fantastic !!!
Thanks, Todd! I hope you're well.
Beat demo yet I’ve seen today and really shows the variety of tones but also shows the classic sounds - capturing some Allman bros, Clapton and Greeny.
Sounds phenomenal Shane! Very versatile and all around beautiful sounding amp. Great playing as always sir. Cheers 🍻
Sounds like a great little amp setup. Awesome tones.
I feel every tone on every guitar demoed was really great, but I was totally enamored with the first part of the Strat demo (clean/edge of break up, neck pickup I think) and ALL of the Tele demo-that killed!!
Shane - you are a top-of-the-line demo guy and a monster player. And congratulations on personally being chosen by Marshall to be part of this new gear demo. Cheers, man!! (New Hampshire USA)
Thanks for the kind words mate! Rock on :)
Great tones across the board!!!
Ok first of all…WOW!
I love that you used two different guitars carrying out different duties! That tonal separation hit nicely! Your Strat clean was so seriously amazing! That has to be one of the absolute best cleans I have ever heard!
WOw! How cool is that! Thanks Shane
That amp sounds fantastic!! Classic Marshall tone, that we all know and love!!
Prob the BEST of the S20 range so far!
Wow, this sounds really good! Great demo.
Thanks!
Best tones I’ve heard in any demos of this amp!
Thank you. 🙏
Ah man love that they did this one of my new favorite wishlist items a jtm45 was always way too loud hope u get this gifted Shane
Killer tones all the way. Beautiful demo, Shane! Cheers!
Those tones are fantastic.....wow.
That Keisel is stunning. Absolutely love these JTM MKIIs
Love what I’ve seen of this amp, of course these guys could make first act gear sound great. I’ll be enjoying what I have, but these are very tempting. Nice demo!
Shane. I have watched so many reviews on this head and matching Cab and I have to say up to watching this I was flipping back and forth every 5 minutes in my choice between this and the other studio head they have (the Plexi style one)
But this review has made my mind up now. Thank you for such a cool review Way too many others don’t do enough review with good solid rhythm parts to get a real feel for the tone.
Keep up your amazing clips and fantastic playing
Mal- in Ireland.
Thanks for the kind words Mal, I am glad it's helpful mate. Thanks again.
Thanks for providing the Freedom Units conversion on the weights.
That amps sounds great and looks killer. I love the old school look.
'Freedom units'?
This sounds SO GOOD!
Killer demo thanks. Cheers 🍻
Damn it Shane!!! I want that amp!!! Also, that Kiesel is gorgeous!!!!! Awesome vid!!!!
Thank you, Scott. I have the Kiesel video in editing right now. I have to agree it's a beast of a guitar! Thanks so much mate. This amp was a lot of fun. It covers so much ground musically.
Excellent review!
Sounds amazing. I wish Marshall would make their English made products more competitive for the American consumer. $1,800 is too steep for a 20watt amplifier.
Same for us though, we pay through the nose for Mesa amps, when they can be had...
Call me a cynic but the American consumer can do much better than Marshall.
If you are in the US get a Friedman you lucky bugger
@@waynedoherty7758 saving up for a Runt 50!
Shane, you really did play tones that my ears love. Thank you so much for your efforts here. The JTM45 is my favorite sounding amp. I have had 3 new JTM 45's and sadly all 3 developed problems within a week. I am hesitant in purchasing a 4th. JTM 45 as I fear the worst. I can't face a life without the JTM 45 tone! So now, at present I am living my life every day searching for that tone. I'm not just saying that, as everyday I try getting the JTM tone from one or another of my guitar amplifiers. I even run myn Fender '59 Bassman Ltd. through my Marshall Full Stack of (2) 412 speaker cabs. You have come really really close to making my ears happy. Perhaps a new Marshall Studio JTM MKll 20H is in my future. It's already in my "cart" on a couple of popular sites. In a few day's from tonight, if I don't purchase a new Marshall Studio JTM MKll 20 Watt Head, then that can only mean that I have decided on the Original, the JTM 45 2245 for another go.
To be really honest I still think only the JTM 45 / 2245 will give me the tone I crave. But then again, in all practicality I should at least try the Studio JTM MKll head. If I find that it is what I crave then I saved myself $1,200. If it's not then I can return it and know that at least I did try. Then of course I have only one route to go and that is another new purchase of the Marshall JTM 45/2245 amp. I am determined to enjoy the remaining years I have left to live upon our earth.
One final consideration is I don't know how to bias a JTM 45/2245, so in the next few days I shall seek information on how to bias the Studio JTM MKll head. If it's a process that I am familiar with (I have the Origin 50 H) and a couple of DSL40C combo amps and I understand how to bias these amps. The Fender '59 Bassman Ltd. is so easy to bias, for what' that's worth.

You Sir have just sold one of these… fantastic review, thank you.
You're going to love it Mark! Rock on mate :)
Wow, what an amp and cab! If I didn't already have a Studio Vintage 20H, I might get one of these! Great demo, Shane.
It's a monster of an amp! Thanks for the comments :)
Opening Jam sounded great. Amazing for a "clean" signal.
Cheers mate!
The best advertisement for this amp is your wonderful content 😊 smile
Nice review as always…and finally the Studio series in a combo with a 12” speaker…
Sounds phenomenal 👍🏼
Oh man that is amazing. Now I want a marshall more than ever!
🎆✨🎉🎊 Happy New Year Dude - Keep the Videos coming - My annual Birthday guitar in August might be this
Marshall Studio JTM MKII Amplifier ⚡and matching 2x12 cabinet in stead of another Les Paul. I'll do that another time. . . Adding a Bugera PS1 Power Attenuator will be needed as well. Thanks Again. . .
Thanks, Jim. All the best for 2024 mate and I hope you get your hands on this amp, it's pretty wild! The 5-watt mode is still pretty loud on this one so the attentuator will be a big help. Rock on mate.
That sounded really good Shane. I think they did a good job on this one. Have a great day brother ☮️❤️
It sounds great! Perhaps a bit more than what I need for home use.
I have a 2009 JTM45 reissue, I run it through a captor X into a 1960ax cab, and It's probably my favourite of all the amps I own.
I must say, even though pretty much all my pedals sound great into the front of it, I am a little envious of the effect loop on the studio version.
It looks killer too, I'm glad they went with the early aesthetics rather than taking the lazy route and making it look the same as the SV20.
So, being a Strat guy, that clasic Marshall tone with a Stratocaster is a match made in heaven. 😇 I, too, have a Blues Deluxe as my primary amp. But the Marshall 20w amp head lineup has my attention! Thanks for the awesome demo.👍
Great review. Amazing amp!
Nick! I hope you're doing well mate! Many thanks for the kind words.
Hey Nicko, LONG time no hear from dude!
@@DMSProduktions hey man! I’ve is good just busy! Hope all is well with you mate!
@@NickintheStates Yeah, been thru a few ups'n'downs the past few years with several bereavements etc!
These sound amazing
Was not what I was expecting you to play through the JTM Shane! Very late Dire Straits feel there (On Every Street). Although it seemed to really shine with the single coil strat.
I got to admit, the JTM and matching cabinet look cool AF and sounds just as good 🤘
My eyes are watering from the retail price on them though 😂🤣
I'm a bit surprised with the speaker choice of creambacks. I would have thought they'd go more vintage with greenbacks? Not that they sound bad by any means. With the creambacks rated at 65Wea, even a single greenback is 25W and two would give it 50W handling - more than enough for the 20W head.
Hey Shane, very cool Review 😉👍 Thanks!
Wow. What an incredible intro. Perfect song. And out of the box 📦.
Thanks for the kind words! :)
Very Cool, Thankyou. Awesome Looking and Sounding Amp. So many features. I have a Marshall MG15MSii Mini Stack Amp which is amazing and I love it, but always want a Marshall Tube Amp, this could be it. Thankyou for the comprehensive honest review. Cheers
Yes definitely one of the best Strat tones. All around a great amp and cab.
As great as these new JTM's sound you have to also give credit to the M65 creambacks. Every demo I've seen so far has the matching 2x12 cabinet with them. I was pleasantly surprised that they went with them. I figured they'd go with greenbacks since this is just a 20 watt head. The M65 has become my favorite Celestion speaker. I use it for everything including metal. It cleans up nice and chugs like a V30 without the annoying upper mid spike.
Sounds bonkers good 🇬🇧🇬🇧 what a tone !! Glad your showing off the best of British mate …. Top demo as always 💪
Thanks mate! Many thanks. This video was a lot of fun to make. The amp sounds huge in the room :)
That is awesome. It gets all Marshall filthy when needed, but I loved the lower volume creamy blues tone too
guitars or amps .....your reviews are the best !!!!!!! Thank You !!!
I need to try one of these!
This is great!
How good would it be to see a tone comparison from the studio JTM in this video and the studio vintage SV20 plexi !
Absolutely, I'm dying for someone to do that comparison.
The fact you can quit smile that wonderful smile testifies Marshall does it RIGHT! The price tag of $1,749.99 (just for the head) means I will never smile like that.
I believe it's under $1000 -outside Australia
Always brilliant to see and hear a proper British built Marshall 👍
Oh yeah, dude, those are some hot tones! Totally suits your playing style, mate, sounds amazing.
Thanks, Ben! It's a killer rig and I love the 2x12 vertical cab. These are so much easier to move around than the sideways ones.
Fantastic!
Some knock-off "Clapton knobs" would look great on that.
Yes the Strat sounds incredible though it !!! 😎👌
Best sounding amp ive heard you play
I’ve had the privilege of playing this amp mate! 100% agree with you…for blues/rock, the tone & dynamic response of this amp is the best I’ve played ever! I highly recommend that you try it out!
Incredible
Great tones, particularly the Strat off-clean tone really does. I really liked the SV20 before this. But the aggressive voicing had me leaning more toward the EHX Sovtek Mig 50 re-issue. Which was cheaper too. But now, the price of those have risen, and Marshall have released this and it costs about the same. I don't need the 50W, 20W is plenty, so now I'm leaning toward the warmer tones of this. Think it would be a really nice contrast / complement to my Vox AC15. 5W mode is super useful too. Even a really basic reactive attentuator like the Buguera could reign it that little bit more for quiter practice. And yeah, a less sensitive 1x12" for home, with an efficient 2x12 for live makes it great for both.
Even before hearing it the specs scream versatility... The addition of a loop is very helpful.
Just got the combo to replace my orange AD30. It’s incredible 👌🏻👌🏻
What happened to the orange??
It’s currently not functioning on Chanel 1. Is super weak. There’s no one local that does amp repair. I need to send it off really
I was on the fence until you played "Start me up."
You son of a b**** I'm in.
Amazing: Marshall going back to the beginning LOOK !!!! I remember seeing this Marshall LOOK in a music shop in Naples, Italy
back in 68. It was so strange to see the name Marshall on something of the past that did not fit. Now Marshall has returned.
If only the full size ones could get the same looks, right?!
A really nice rig - they still know how to do it 🙂
Really nice.Thx for posting this.
Let me just say you got a subscribe from a Lefty the moment i saw it. Great work, amazing amp and continue to make content
What a ripper. It sounded great, decisions, decisions...🤘
Nice. I’m lucky enough to own a vintage Marshall stack. If I didn’t this would be a strong candidate.
Great tones Shane. Wonder if the build quality is decent.
Almost sounded like Brian Eno 'Here Come The Warm Jets' at the beginning there
Ah! I'll have to check that out I don't know that one. :)
Great review !! As usual.
I bought the combo has creamback 12
I have a 2x12 with creamback and a low end speaker.
Want to move JTM cream from combo to this 2x12.
For variety what’s another 12” that I could put in the JTM combo that you think would be different but a good match???
TIA
Beautiful looking Amp! Sounds great too. Although, that's always subjective until you actually play one for yourself. I'll be looking to get plugged into one of these! Wonder what the USD $ damages are on something like this?
They aren't cheap, but it's made in the UK. Check the links to Sweetwater I posted in the description.
I can see why Marshall wants you to demo this. I bought a DSL40CR solely because of your video on it.
Wow... cool amp... back to the roots...
What Patch Cable are u using ?
Greets Chris from Germany
Hi Shane, thank you for the demo, the JTM looks great sounds really good with the strat tele and humbucker guitars. I would have liked a footswitchable efx loop rather than a button on the back. We can't always have roadies and techs jumping up on stage to push the button if going via a wet dry wet mix :) Take care Professor and big hi to Dr Ric and Brian.
Hi Shane I hope you’re doing well. How much does knocking it down to 5W affect volume? Would that be appropriate for small venues or would you still use the 20W and just keep the volume knob low?
It sounds great but I wonder how much of that is the effect of volume. Even at 5 watt setting, that still must be very loud.
I'd like to see a comparison between this and the PRS HDRX 20. The HDRX is about $1000 cheaper.
Love the sounds! Wish it wasn’t around $3k usd for the whole setup, but that’s just the way it is I guess
Beautifull stuff, looked up the combo price...Will have to do with my DSL-1 for a bit longer 😅
What’s the different between this and the SV20 apart from a reskin?
OH yeah I have a JCM2000 made in UK, and an Origin made in Vietnam, but I've been eyeing these since they were announced every time I see a demo, makes me wish I wasn't buying a house right now! LOL. Oh well after all that's done this looks like something I'll be picking up!
Mate, sounds so THROATY! Esp with a hb equipped guitar!
My Ashton BT does a similar type of sound on its crunch channel!
I think THIS S20 model tops the Vintage Plexi model & the S Modern/JCM800 model hands down!
GOOD to see it has an fx loop also!
GOOD for adding some rev to the amp!
IS this a loaner or a keeper? DOES the Marshall distro want it back or it's yours?
Great demo Shane!
I am holding onto it. I put a disclaimer in the video and had text on screen right at the start. :) It'll be showing up in future videos.
@@intheblues Cool! I thinks you're gonna make sweet sweet musical love to THAT amp mate!
AND you can try it with different speaker combos & see what you get OUT of that head!
Honestly, that is the BEST sounding of these Studio 20 models Marshall have released thus far!
They're ALL good esp the Plexi model, but this predecessor model the JTM, sounds NEXT level!
IF I were in the market for another amp, THIS is the Marshall Studio I'd go for!
Rockin'! \m/
Just ordered a SV20H Vintage 😊
It sounds great. You should see if Sky Music has a Studio Vintage head you can borrow for a comparison vid.
The semi cleans were great... effects loop won't hurt either...
4ohms are gd (if you can play 100db+ these days) nice sounding amp but.👍
