    You deserved to have that whinge-fest after cycling that many miles in 2 days..haha epic effort! Hoping to do the Badger myself this summer, any tips, other than don't sleep in a bivi..kit that was essential &kit that was superfluous!? Well done buddy!👍

      Thanks!
      I have another video on the channel with all the kit I took, and talk a bit there on what was needed and what wasn't.
      One thing I would recommend though is a waterproof case for your phone, and if you're planning on stopping at camp, midge repellent is essential!

    Just a casual weekend ride then

    Looked unreal, but what an effort! Not just an average guy. đŸ‘ŠđŸ»
    Sick video. Worth the wait!! đŸ€™đŸ»

    Nice one Adam that was a heroic effort. Need to go have a look myself - the scenery was stunning!

      You can't beat Scotland for scenery and epic cycling, if you get the chance I'd highly recommend a trip up!

    I remember going down relatively fast on the steep bit at min 5:56 thinking "OH SHIT". Suddenly dropper posts on gravel bikes made sense after that.
    Great effort! đŸ’Ș

      Yeah a dropper would be great here, I couldn't even hang over the back of the saddle as I had a large saddle bag with my sleeping bag in it. Walking was definitely the right choice for me!

      @Al_Fresco Pƙed rokem +1

      @@AdamRussellCycling yeah I know what you mean. That's where I discovered that strapping a small bag over the saddle bag wasn't a good idea as my ass got stuck trying to push it out of the way đŸ€ŁđŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł

      I did it in May last year, had a choice of gravel bike (with 50c's) or HT - took the HT as camping and much prefer the ability of the HT on rough descents. Both have droppers (using a Wolf Tooth Valais to reduce the drop).

    • @Al_Fresco
      @Al_Fresco Pƙed rokem

      @@br5380 the issue with the dropper (which my gravel bike doesn't have anyway) is that it's not compatible with some large saddle bags.
      I did it on 40mm tyres and it was "fun" 😁
      I have a little video on my page too. How were the midges in May?

    Solid effort that, Adam. Was great riding with you for a bit (I was one of the other late starters). Looks like your experience was very similar to ours. Rannoch Moor on the Saturday night was wild, eh!? Great video. Thanks for putting it together.

      I'd like to go back to Rannoch Moor one day just to see what it looks like in the daylight 😅

    Well done, good effort 👍 If you do it again it's well worth staying at Loch Ossian youth hostel, and eating at Corrour Station House. I'm guessing this probably wasn't allowed for the race. As well as adding a fair bit of comfort, these places are also a great experiences in themselves.

      I'll definitely be bringing the bike back to Scotland, if not this year then certainly in 2025 as I have some big plans that year, watch this space!

    A couple of pointers - it's the Highlands, no need to buy water nor TBH to need to carry more than 500-750ml at any one time. If you're bothered, use a filter (light & cheap).
    Inverness to Fort A, has a LOT of climbing - not to be underestimated.
    Recommend the Turkish restaurant in FA, a 3 course lunch (and beer) from them got me almost to Ossian 🙂

      Good tips! I'm still glad I took as much water as I did just because I didn't know exactly where I'd be able to refill, and would rather be over hydrated than under. You're right though that there are plenty of streams etc to refill at
