At the heart of Atari 50 are the Interactive Timelines, which combine historical trivia, digital artifacts, over 60 minutes of new interviews, documentary footage, and playable games into one cohesive experience. When you encounter a game in the Timelines, you can immediately play it without losing your place.
The massive selection of over 100 games spans seven different platforms: Arcade, 2600, 5200, 7800, Atari 8-bit computers, and, for the first time ever on modern consoles, Atari Lynx and Jaguar! Play the classics like Tempest 2000, Asteroids, and Yars' Revenge, or dive into some deeper cuts.

The fact that they not only remembered SwordQuest and decided to include it in the collection, but actually went the extra mile to COMPLETE SwordQuest by making Airworld is amazing!

@@jdb2002 To be more elaborate, that's what MAY have happened to them. They don't even know for sure. That's most likely what happened, but it's unknown precisely what happened. The winner of the Crown isn't even known either.
Actually many compilations have had the released SwordQuest titles. Pretty sure Atari Anthology did, Atari Classics Evolved did, Atari Flashback Classics did.

The only retro compilation (or perhaps more accurately "celebration") that I would personally consider to be on this magnitude is probably... Rare Replay. This is a very special package that I think *any* enthusiast of gaming history should absolutely pick up.

I saw this in target the other day thought it was just a collection of Atari games, but now, after watching this trailer, I’ll need to go back and get a copy. I grew up playing these games and would love to see what they look like revamped!
Just know these are the only new games. Most of the collection is emulated arcade and 2600 titles still, with a selection of 5200, 7800, 800, Lynx, and Jaguar titles as well.
It’s $30 now there and Amazon. No idea why digital is still $40

Omg pong is my first ever game that I played on my best friends dad's computer which got me hooked into gaming. We are still besties after 42 years

The fact that atari games is 50 years old now..... something about that is very existential. Surely Video games aren't THAT old.
This collection is beyond worth picking up. So much novelty is packed in this and the presentation is absolutely amazing.
By adding Air World we will no doubt get a sequel to the AVGN Sword Quest episode NODDERS

Also amazing to see Jaguar games on here, Jaguar emulation was always difficult to do, so having officially licensed ports of some of the Jaguar's titles is amazing for preservation!!!

We went through this last night. Super fun!!!!!!! Couch coop op is where its at! 2 player Asteroids had us screaming. Even the fire Truck game where the other player controls the trailer was a great time. Grab a friend from the Gen X era and hold on to the time machine. Now if they would have just made their recent console 16 bit VR/AR, I'd be in heaven.

One of the best colletion video games ever done. DE knocked it out of the park yet again. I wish Nintendo would see how much people lile this and makes something like this with a collection of Nintendo, Super Nintendo and gameboy games. Lets be honest the NOS is not that great. If they were to make something like this it would sell like crazy. Come one Nintendo, yall gonna let Atari have the best game compilation around?

It's kind of Ironic seeing this compilation on a Nintendo console, considering that Atari competed with the company in the 80s and 90s, starting with the 7800 versus the NES. Hopefully, the documentary parts will say something about that.
