- Join Dan and I for our hotel-room awards ceremony where we celebrate our favourite roles in the G&S operas! Here is our list from best to worst. Remember my opinion may really differ from other people's and I love to be surprised with stories of how people have totally smashed roles lower down on the list!

This is an absolute riot! You and Dan are beyond adorable and I am delighted that you have found each other. I feel like you could use this as an audition for standup comedy (or an all-purpose audition that shows how well you know the G&S characters.) Also, holy crap, is that a Mason Pearson hairbrush? That is the only kind I use and have used since I was about 10 years old! Lastly, as a fellow St. Andrews G&S lifetime member, I am thoroughly disappointed that not one of these awards was a jellybean.
Lots of fun! Since you requested it (obviously not at all seriously):
There's the orderer of elements of shows by G&S
Who so many gems has dissed. I've got her on the list.
Her ranks are perfect specimens of arbitrariness.
And they never would be missed! They never would be missed!
Rachel Middle fills her videos with pictures of her cats,
With costumery flamboyant and the most outlandish hats,
With preposterous opinions of Mikado, Pinafore
Iolanthe, Princess Ida, Gondoliers, and Ruddigore,
And a photographic record of her Budapestic tryst.
They'd none of 'em be missed. They'd none of 'em be missed.
This is AMAZING
I'm also giggling at the idea of the birds I sometimes wear in my hair being considered 'hats'
@@forbeartheatre Glad you like it! If you prefer, you can change the line to "With costumery flamboyant, wearing birds instead of hats,"
I have *so much* love for "Budapestic"
That was a fun one!!
Weirdly entertaining!
Among the mikado I am the most like Pitti-Sing (only in D'Oyly Carte and 1973BBC act). She is the most lovable and helpful character in the mikado Put oneself forward for YumYum and Nanki-Poo, help Koko lie in act2, and some cute little details with Koko. I will treat her as the heroine in ACT2.
I love her so much! The scene with the Mikado is one of my very favourites. "Yes, we can wait until then!"
What a super video. And such a dazzling array of awards!!
I know, right? It's a great hairbrush
@@forbeartheatre I agree, the hairbrush is a splendid trophy, but I'm not sure who would really appreciate the aluminium (or aluminum) foil.
Are you kidding? Foil is so uselful! And I happened to go down a massive rabbit hole regarding the spelling of that particular metal recently. Apparently both spellings have been used pretty much from the start- Aluminum was used initially I believe but the other spelling is also considered correct. @@walterxplinge3867
I love the eccentricity. Malcolm
An you played the Council very well!
Immediate off the cuff, snap judgement. The number one traditionally male role is the Lord Chancellor in Iolanthe.
I shouldn't mind a stab at it with my brilliant American naturalism 😊
Wowee! I have played:

Roderic, 89?! Travesty. OUTRAGE!
I mean, Tyler, if we were ranking PORTRAYALS of these roles, your Roderic would, of course, be number one on every list.
