Hi guys. This looks awesome. My wife and I are going on a cruise in June and St. Marteen is one of our stops. How long did it take you guys to complete this excursion?
Hey Edwin, the excursion is advertised as about 6 hours. Basically from about 7am to 1pm. Depending on how things go, I think 2pm would be the latest. After we finished the excursion and got dropped off back at the port, we had plenty of time to take a taxi to the other side of the island, hang out at the beach for a few hours and get back to get back on the cruise ship. This was our favorite excursion. It is totally worth it. When we go back, we want to do it again it was that good! Hope you have a great time on your cruise!
I have two kids ages 7 and 9..would they let them do this?? What are the weight and height requirements? Thank you!

Hey you guys I LOVE IT and can't wait we're doing The Big 3 on Nov 12 in just a few short weeks on The Pride and our first Journey's cruise ! This will also be our first time doing a zip-line and OMG Excited !!! So I saw you said you could do the tube's twice are the zip-lines all 5 only once ? And was it an issue holding your camera ? I saw on the actual Flying Dutchman website you aren't allowed to hold anything...?
Hey Shelly, I'm so excited for you. It was so amazing! Yes, we did the tubes twice. The regular zip lines that go back and forth across the canyon you only do once. Then for the flying dutchman you only do that once. You aren't allowed to bring a backpack or anything else, but they did let me carry me GoPro Hero 7 Black on a GoPro 3-way grip. Just make sure you have a wrist strap from your grip that goes around your wrist so if you did drop it, you wouldn't lose it. They have lockers there that you have to pay for to store your backpack and anything else you bring.
@@JordanOutside as long as it's still not an issue to take a camera (GoPro my Bf will have and I'll do my small Fuji) I'll be posting video myself once we get home. :-)

What cruise line where you on ? Did you book this threw the cruise line .
Hey William, we were on Carnival Cruise Lines and we booked through them.
theres another excursion without the tube ride....but you still get to do the flying dutchman. Is the tube ride worth the extra money? or not necessary? We will also be going to a water park too
We really enjoyed the tube ride. It goes way faster than we thought it would. If I did this again, I would do the tube ride. With that said, if you are hitting a water park too, you will be getting in similar rides, so I guess it depends on your budget and time.
I booked this excursion. I’m guessing you used a go pro camera?. What accessory did you use to hold it while zip lining?.
Yes, I used my GoPro. I had it on a 3-way stick with a wrist strap so in case I dropped it, I wouldn't lose it.

The first initial drop you feel like your dropping, but then it feels like a normal zip line most of the way down. It was sooo fun!
Hello-we are going in Aug. Can I ask a "post ride" logistics question? Did you go back up after the the Flying Dutchman or stay below? I ask because my son (10) LOVES this stuff--and sorry to say, I have a fear of heights that don't make this zip line the best fit for me. I'd like to think out if he can do this and I can get back done in a different manner that doesn't leave him among strangers. (I've done chair lifts, so not worried about that part). Any additional logistical insight is appreciated!
The Flying Dutchman zipline is last so after we went we stayed below. We did see some people going down on the chairlifts so that might be an option. Go all the way up with your son and then let him take the zipline down and you take the chairlift down. I'm terrified of heights, but I'm so glad I did this one. It was so fun. Have a great trip!

Hi Eduardo, they allowed us to bring our GoPro when we went. Everything else we put in our locker that we rented. I don't know if they have changed that policy since we went, but it was so fun! I would recommend a wrist strap so you don't drop it on the zip lines. Hope that helps. 😀

How long did it take yall to do all this? Looking for stuff to do with my kids and still be able to fit in a walk through town for me.
We did the morning excursion. We finished about 12 pm, but our bus back to the ship didn't leave until 1pm. We got back to the ship around 1:45 pm, which gave us time to hit a beach before we got back on the cruise ship. Hope that helps.
@@JordanOutside thanks for the reply and yes that works have been exactly what I needed to know but I've since found out that they no longer allow cameras on, so I've scratched this one from our list. Anything I'm going to spend about $350 on and then be forced to buy their overpriced pics, no thanks.

@@JordanOutside I can't find anything official on their website but on other videos of this excursion people reported not being able to use them. I asked another youtuber about his video and he did state he had to get special permission to be able to use his camera for his Vlog.
It seems par for the course to me though as many of these operators want you to buy their very overpriced pictures.

Kind of crazy where is your helmet
ha ha, it was so fun. They made us wear helmets on the regular zip lines, but not on the biggest one which seems crazy, but everything went great.
Must be nice. The guy told me I couldn't use my Go Pro and looks like they allowed you all to use your cell phones.
That stinks! All of this footage was taken with my GoPro. They must have changed their policy.
glad you posted this. A lot of attractions won't allow you to film because they want you to buy their overpriced pics. If I can't film I won't go.

Ha ha Jessica, my wife actually wanted hers to go faster but the speed is based on your weight. The heavier people, like me, harness gravity faster 😂
