Congratulations, Chris! It's good to see that your reach in fpv is spreading. Oh, and by the way, if banggood were to clone the AOS frame I hope you make a vibration analysis video on it. Would be a very interesting way to see how much sloppy tolerances, poor carbon, etc. affect flight performance even when given the advantage of the AOS frames' superior vibration isolation. Again, congrats!
73 euro’s in Europa with sending. 84 euro if you buy it from US (incl the shipping coast 18 euro) and send it to Europa. So if you wanna fly A0S in Europa go to BG. Looking forward mine (I got the 5.5

@ChrisRosser Ok, I surrander... I have purchased both AOS 5 and 3.5 🤦♂️😁😁 Now a BIG question on the 3.5... you say that 1404 and 1506 are adviced. I want a 250 g build (caddx vista no cam if not Peanut) for cruising but not lethargic. I'm thinking of the 1506 staying on high KV for 3S lipos to stay
1404 and 1505 are my preferred sizes. Both should be under 250g with Caddx Vista (especially naked vista) and a 650-800mAh 4S or equivalent weight 3S pack.
Here's my thinking: if Banggood can sell the real deal why would they sell a cheaper crappier clone? They would be better off selling the slightly more expensive higher quality product. They make more money and the customer is happier! At least, that's my hope.
@@ChrisRosser I've purchased my AOS5 frame and a replacement arm from CNCmadness. The issue with "clones" is that they are labelled with different names so Bangood isn't going to car about which version they are selling. The perfect example of this is Amazon and Bangood selling the clone of the GepRC MK4 (under a generic brand name). The issue I have with CNCmadness is that on two occasions, the shipping process took a literal month to get to me (no fault of thiers, it was just the method of shipping). Others may be inclined to buy a clone if shipping times are less, and they can use all the build and tuning techniques in your videos to make the knock-off frame fly 90% as good as your original. Also, please remember that Bangood isn't a drone enthusiast company, they are just into selling or merchandising "products" regardless of origin. They can freely sell the original to folks like me who would like to support your work, and to those who just want a frame to buy.
3.5 for mini freestyle aos 5 for session gopros and 5.5 for heavier like hero 7 8 and nine but then use recomendet motors and on the aos 5.5 use 5.5 inchz props
Hey Chris, newbie here, but I am curious why don't you optimize frames using widely available CF rods instead of flat arms. Wouldn't CF rods lead to reduced production costs (less CNC waste), and less worry about fiber weave orientation?
That's awesome Chris! About to order a frame... Is there a drawback going for the AOS 5.5 (instead of the AOS 5) but only carrying Session-sized cameras and keeping the weight low in general? Will it impact agility for freestyle or introduce frame resonances? The reasons I am slightly partial towards the AOS 5.5 are: flight time, authority and future proofing. Are these reasons valid?
I have an aos 5.5 with session 5. I run 1500mah 6s (Great flight times). With a hero 6 I run 1300 mah 6s. There's only 17g difference in weight. I run t-motor f80 pro 2408 1900kv - T-motor Pro2 55a esc.. Both fly fantastic. I really enjoy the extra thrust, so much so, I now run an Armattan Badger with 5.5's too - that one runs x-ing 2208 1800kv's

If you dont live in the USA or Western Europe Banggood is literally your only option for FPV equipment shipped at a reasonable price. I'm listing AOS frames on BG to serve those customers, that is the best option for them. CNCDrones remains the best choice for US buyers at the moment due to their better pricing and availability of spares. US retailers are welcome to stock AOS frames and *I will ensure that BG do not undercut them on price*. No-one is missing out. This is what is best for the global FPV community!
Now that some youtubers and other people have built the AOS 5 and reviewed them with their own likings and dislikings . I feel if we ever (which we should ) have a v2 for the AOS frames . The biggest changes should probably be something a slight bit more conventional in look so that it pleases some of the people who buy frames for their looks but also get more attention to the central region of the quad ( the top and bottom plates ) . Also if you remove the X parts of the arms the quad will look like an old school H quad for the most part which probably flies slightly different than the majority of squished X arm designs . Lastly I dont know if placing the flight controller at a decentralized position affects the flight controls much but that bit might need some testing and verification as I have not seen front mounted FCs ever before this one but some local pilots seem to argue that even if the FC algorithm doesnt change for a decentralized FC the font back flips will feel like swinging about a point outside of the FC ( this might just be prejudice) . But of course before we make any changes to the almost close to perfect flying frame we should see people crash it a lot because one thing we must not forget is that the reason that makes drone pilots more badass is that we dont break easily unlike RC planes and so watching the aftermath of people hitting concrete and other things will help make the design its god like stage that we all began dreaming of when Chris set out to analyze and design frames for us.
