Hope everyone's doing great there's been a recent update regarding Blheli_32 software, the project has been closed down by owner due to some regulatory reasons thus Blheli_32 ESCs will no longer be available from Skystars and same may happen with other brands as well ....

So what is the point going beyond 24khz other than the O3 issues some are having with smaller builds? The lesser braking ability is often what causes poor propwash handling.

I bought your 8s 1570kv 2207 its ace, can you do a 7inch 8s motor with spilt bell, about 1000kv i recon and cheers buddy nice work!

It's great to discuss these things individually but an overall quads performance is based on the sum of all the factors. I've had builds that had severe desync issues on Betaflight and there was no ESC/FC settings that improved performance. Then I switched to a KISS Ultra FC and the desyncs stop completely. The only difference being the FC and firmware. Also, thrust linearization used to have some effect on performance and was recommended if you using 48khz and up. Is that still a factor?

You didn't mention the effect of PWM frequency on gyro noise I've found that 24khz is more likely to cause gyro noise than higher frequencies. Of course, that depends on the ESC, FC, and motor combination. So it's not always about top end performance; sometimes one has to be more pragmatic to get a quad working properly. People need do a motor throttle sweep in BF Configurator to see if there is a point where the gyro freaks out using 24khz PWM. Then try 36khz or 48Khz PWM to see if the noise goes away. And let's not forget how PWM frequency affects the O3 Air Unit.

Just want to comment about rampup power, that setting also affects the motor at 0 RPM, it sets how much power is dumped into a single winding during the 'startup' phase of the motor before it starts commutating. Using the 100kgmm^2 flywheel from a dead stop is a good test for this.

It's all component dependent. You can't lump everything together because it has the same esc protocol.

Hi Cris I would like to ask you a question, even if I set the preset for the AOS UL7 and raised some parameters such as the master multiplier that you recommended, I end up with a drone that runs much better than before but my engines are always hot, not they are hot but they are just hot and this worries me a bit, what should I do to remove this problem? I also hear a whistling in the motors that cannot be removed but is this normal on such large drones? Let me start by saying that I have never had a 7 ".l, it mounts brotherhobby avenger v3 2812 1115kv engines, hqprop 7x4x3 propellers, holibro kakute h7v1 stack, O3 video system and Tbs crossfire diversity radio system, it mounts a 5300mah lipo 6s and has a gopro mini 11 as an action cam. Chris, My defender 25 does not have a single static 100 Hz Biquad filter from the factory, should I enable it? Also what is the cure for - when I am taking off, I have an image delay after arming and into the first 2-3 seconds of the flight (defender 25 o3 air unit)

Chris, I’m pretty distraught and don’t know what happened. I have the AOS 5v5 frame with the supernova motors and not 10 sec into my first flight it dropped out of the sky and I found that two motors were burnt up. I used your tune in this video. This is my first build and it’s left me pretty low. Any thoughts? I would SO appreciate your help.

Nice frame but mine came with incorrect stand off for top of camera cage. Both sections in the heat sealed bag had the same size vertical stand offs for the carbon plates 😕

Love your content Chris! But this one isn't up my alley. I can read product specs myself. The added value of your channel is the incredibly well designed and executed testing of components - and this video unfortunately delivers none of that. We should not take manufacturers specifications as granted, and it would have been really cool to test some things. A rather long time ago, a channel called Drone Mesh did ESC (noise) testing, that was really useful. Unfortunately he doesn't do that anymore

How it looks in the goggles is all I care about, not recordings. I want the go pro look and feel live in the goggles not static and interference.

This is 2 years old and I am not sure if anyone will read this. However I have three AOS T3 quads in different configuration. I asked Chris about tuning because I was having issue with at least one of them. It bobbles a lot. Chris suggested lighter props which I bought. It helps but not the one that bobbles. Then I noticed I was running props in on that particular quad. After changing rotation direction of the motors I am now flying props out on the quad and it is behaving much better.

Any one know the PWM Frequency of the ESC?

Just a suggestion what I kind of miss is what to do for a test flight... to get the gyro data. And maybe do this in the future with one of your friends/ patreons to start of with a less of a good build/quad. and take it step by step how to tune it to fly really good. For example for myself I run into this problem trying to tune a 2.5 inch qav frame wich is a whoop and needs to run in pretty warm weather.. can't use the hot motors. I do as allways enjoy the content and the way you explain it.
