why kaohsiung is my favorite city in taiwan and one of my favorites in the world:
1. best climate in taiwan (tropical climate)
2. located at the sea with many beaches
3. not too big and not small
4. good public transportation
Pierre was the best travel buddy ever, loved Taiwan and its people
One thing I love in Kaohsiung is that they have large and beautiful park where you can do running, biking. It's so clean and refreshing.

I had lived at kaohsiung for a few years. This video make me miss kaohsiung so much. And about the night market, i recommend my favorite night market which is close to kaohsiung area MRT. There are delicious food and cheap shopping. Should visit there if you guys plan to visit Kaohsiung.

The Lotus Lake area is lovely to spend a day and taking photos in the area. There are some very cheap glass beads jewelry for sale around the temple area. And loads of souvenirs and traditional items to be found in the area. Definitely worth a visit. There are many little hop on hop off buses which leave from the station area to the Lotus Lake area and it cost very little money. Really enjoyed walking around the Love River area. Really interesting and very relaxing city. Directly behind the Kaohsiung Main Station is a clothing market area which is very cheap. One crosses over the rail tracks with a bridge (on the right side when standing in front of the station) and turn left after crossing over. Super shopping area there with colorful umbrella roof from one end of the street to the other end which makes for great photos.

There are about 100 km of biking trail in this city. You can even bring the bike on the ferry boat to the ChiJin island. There is a biking and running trail around the lake shown on the video. The bike rental is only about $3 per day.
