- Adedayo and Abuulwazeez were in the Den to seek for N40 Million funding for their agric e-commerce business, DayDone in exchange for 10% equity. Unfortunately, an unconvincing business model, and an unimpressive pitch were the loopholes that made them leave without a deal.
Lions’ Den Nigeria is a business reality show that gives budding entrepreneurs across Nigeria the chance to pitch their business to 5 successful Nigerian investors, referred to as Lions.
These Lions are looking to give back to the society and help Nigerian fulfil their dreams and ambitions. As such, if they see the potential in the entrepreneurs’ business, idea or products, they will invest in the business, in exchange for some equity in the business. - Zábava
It's a major turn-off when the business is over valuated from the jump. Difficult to believe anything else.
Let me take a moment to commend the voiceover. He is very good.
A lot of Entrepreneurs need guidance. Passion is not enough.
Passion is for hobbies.
Guy is really all over the place, We learn from this to be well prepared and accurate.
I feel a lot of people just go to lions den without properly watching previous Nigerian or foreign lions den, shark tank etc episodes

My thought
You just said the truth. I want to be on the Lion but I need to be very sure of my presentation and numbers, this guys work with numbers. I reinvented a product that is yet to be manufactured in Nigeria and we are already selling. But as we all know money is not everything in business but understanding your numbers.
The fact that we get to watch this for free is a blessing.

I have a feeling Adedayo literally pissed Bolaji off and he just had to go out of investing in the business! They have a potentially good business idea, but little understanding of the logistics and technical know how. And Adedayo needs to understand how to make presentations. No one will invest with you presenting like this! I really wish them the very best!

I honestly don’t think this is a feasible business in Nigeria. Like that man said, it is a dream that sadly might not materialize because there are too many loopholes. How do you store these things, how do you educate farmers on using an app???
Asides the obviously terrible presentation, they probably need to think of something smaller in their locality and wake up from the 20M illusion. In my opinion the lady with the Honey business that asked for #500,000 has a better potential.

Bad presentation. They treated it like a debate. Relying more on delivery (as bad as it turned out to be) rather than the value proposition itself. I honestly believe there is no excuse to come on live tv, before investors without adequate preparation. And their comment at the end was telling. "We'll continue pitching to investors...". They're going to keep looking for investors to convince rather than developing the business idea into something viable.

Actually people invest on potentials. It's very much the basis of startup valuations all over the world. It's a grand bet on the future performance of the company and why venture funds are available to companies without a profitable trajectory as of yet.

The tall guy shd have been the spoke person, he looks more calm than the short guy. Simple question, he go still tell story to prepare the answer. He needs to learn how to answer question. And for anyone going to the Den or shark tank, always go with numbers: revenue and profit. Some idea might seem infeasible but if the revenue and margin are good, investors will jump at those opportunities.
