Then 2 years later, I heard Not in Love on Degrassi and re-listened to this, fell in love. Listened to the album, fell in love. Listened to EVERYTHING ELSE they released ever, fell more in love.

But I wouldn't underestimate her talents as a vocalist but also, especially, as a lyricist. Her writing sets the tone to the kind of imagery and atmosphere that makes their music.
A lot of their songs use distorted effects, but I agree that it's all really, really amazing. Whatever genre Crystal Castles could be classified (electropop, darkwave, witch house), they sure as hell own it. But although I'd still love CC if it were just Ethan and his instrumentals, it'd feel incomplete without Alice, whether she's using her softer side or screaming her fucking head off. But like you said, it's vice versa too. They compliment each other so well, they're musical soul mates.
i just saw them perform at Ultra , was a dream come true! but a week after that i met Ethan and the new singer randomly in the streets of miami i almost fainted we talk a couple of minutes was the best bday gift for my 30th sometimes life gives you these kind of moments that you take forever.
Saw them play at the O2 here in Glasgow years ago. Alice had broke her foot, but they still did thr gig. She still did her best to bounce about the stage like we did on the dance floor. They had Magnetic Man on before them. That was a special night.
