It begs the question what actually is intelligence and what makes a person intelligent and another person not so intelligent? How much of being clever is based on having a great memory?🤔 In situations like spelling bees I guess intelligence is determined by how well and how quickly you can work something out. Having an understanding of the ways, formulas and the possibilities people use to spell words but if intellect is measured by understanding and figuring things out then what about the fact the kid couldn't figure out or understand the situation and the person interviewing him?🤔 Granted he's only a kid but this kind of social awkwardness seems to be common with "intellectuals". Somebody who understands Pythagoras theorem but can't work out how to interact with another person on the most basic of level is potentially still classed as a genius yet somebody who thrives in social situations but gets stuck on their six times tables is known as a bimbo or an idiot. fortunately for me I have all of the social awkwardness without even an ounce of an understanding on how to do maths.🙃
