It seems that this "culture" (well, for the most part rappers) cares way more about informants helping federal prosecutors than the drug infestation wrecking their community. Who cares how the prosecutors gain edge over drug gangs? You should be worried about getting the drugs and guns out of your neighborhood. Somebody remind me the last time any rapper discussed this on their podcast.

Well... you're talking about communities overrun with poverty. First of all, I've never seen anyone in the hood who owns a plane or a boat bringing the drugs into the country yet alone the community. Second of all, you're talking about guys growing up with the options of making money, being their own boss, pretty much doing what Big pharma is doing w/o govt protection though...in a poor neighborhood. Third, who's going to open the flood gates of opportunity to give guys better options than what's presented and make it sound better than going to school for years just to slave for someone else...or even start their own successful business w/o having to deal with getting robbed/trying to get a loan from banks that see the color of your skin and deny you before you ask? It sounds good in a comment when you can say things like
"Who's gonna take the drugs and guns off the streets"?
When you don't even look at the other aspects of why...
Or who's going to provide solutions for not living in poverty when you're bombarded with daily programming and influences by media, music, and television telling you money money money.
Your type of thinking sounds good until you're faced with providing an alternative...which Im all for, but getting there takes a group of people who's actually willing and actually care w/o a alternate agenda of filling their own pockets
