    Very informative video, Lorenzo. If I could make a few suggestions, they would be the following:
    1. For safety sake, you should inform the viewers that, even with the main circuit breaker turned off, the input wires to the main breaker are still hot and should be avoided.
    2. I would use a meter to verify that the circuits are disconnected from power, and that power is still present on the input to the main breaker.
    3. I'm sure your wife would understand if you removed your ring before working on electrical circuits. Again for the sake of safety.

    ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS test for current after turning power off. More people are killed every year with residential voltages than any other in the electrical world. Make sure you have a quality meter to test. SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY

    Thanks appreciate it. An electrician is highly expensive & I def understand safety 1st no doubt, but this is also something I feel that is very simple as long as you follow & check everything very carefully then u shld be capable of doing this urself. Do not get in a rush. Safety is the utmost importance when it comes to dealing w/electricity
    Because like u said in ur video it also is deadly. Thanks again tho. U confirmed what I already knew that I am familiar w/& can't wait to replace this breaker! Hopefully I have the same results as u did lol!

    Thank you sir. I think once I get another tester I'm gonna replace mine. Electricians around me haven't returned my calls. I just want to make sure power is off and 2 multimeters telling me it is will comfort me. I got zapped with high voltage line hidden in grass as a firefighter at a structure fire and almost died. Been paranoid about electricity ever since. I've worked on electricity before but the panel makes me more nervous.

    I know you turned off the main breaker before replacing the breaker, but I noticed you inserted the wire back into the new breaker with the switch “on”. Should the new breaker be switched to the off position before inserting the new wire? Or doesn’t matter, because the main is off? Thank you

    are all 15 amp breakers a single wire ? One of mine keeps going out at less than rated amps and feels mushy when moved back and forth. They get carbon build up that causes resistance and hence overheating that trips it ?

    • @tyrone31877
      @tyrone31877 Před 3 lety +2

      The majority of your breakers in your house will be single wire because they're a single throw breaker. If it's more than one wire, it will be a dual throw breaker. If you look at this video, you'll see his panel has two dual throw breakers on each side of the panel near the top. Hope that helps.

    This guy knows nothing about electrical. You should always call someone who knows.
    It's not called a screw. It's called a terminal. Also code require those to be torqued down to a certain psi.
    You need to know what you're doing. I hate to see people to this. When you kill someone,you'll get it.

    • @foxhound2345
      @foxhound2345 Před 2 lety

      LMAO as an ex-contractor I find that piece of information redundant. If you do not have the basic electrical theory knowledge and at least some experience handling high voltage components you have no business trying to do your own electrical work. So no need to clarify every single detail hire a licensed professional if you don't even know where electricity comes from.

  • @catherinediorr7869
    @catherinediorr7869 Před 2 lety

    This is stupid. Why didn't you show every single step you performed to replace that breaker? To ensure safety. This video 👎👎👎👎👎.

    • @foxhound2345
      @foxhound2345 Před 2 lety +1

      Sigh... this video is intended for people who know what they are doing. You have no business doing your own electrical work if you have no clue about the basic electrical theory and have handled high voltage components before. You in particular should ensure everyone's safety and hire a licensed professional. All the rest of us needed was to see how to remove the breaker, as for anything else you should have the knowledge and expertise. You don't learn how to be an electrician on a 10 minute video online LOL some people are cheap and ungrateful bad combination.
