Do you have anything to add?
Nothing too important, because it's just about condensation, but it bothers a lot of people to here it is: Less temperature fluctuations/gradients = less condensation
Regarding condensation on the glass: I saw a video where someone used Rain-X to clean the glass (inside) before making the terrarium. Have you tried this? I’m curious if there would be chemicals/wax or anything in it that might be detrimental to the plants. (As a side note, it works great on my windshield lol).
How to tell if my condensation is high or normal? and why would fittonia dies in a closed terrarium (stems & leaves) got too wet and died in a matter of two days.
Any suggestion for algae outbreak?
I havent watched or tried this yet... but I have to say your background provides a great starting point to tell me you are a very reliable source 😅
Thanks for the great video. will be very useful for beginners like me
thx for your video and your tips 🤗 i love your works, good job
Very informative and clearly explained. Great video!
Thanks Delia
Hi, Thanks for sharing! Great video. I set up a closed moss terrarium with a rectangle fish tank 450X300X300mm. There is always condensation on the glass which I will wipe away every other day. However, it seems that the moss, especially those sited in the center of the tank are not getting enough moisture from the closed environment. I mist the moss about 3-4 times a week to keep it green. Since there is no drainage my concern is whether there will be too much water accumulated eventually. The only way excess water is currently removed is by wiping away the condensation on the glass. Thanks.
Loved the bit at the end where you went through older project. Do you have a full video of these?
Excelent! Thanks for share.
How often would you recommend top dressing with vermicast? Thank you for your videos!
Good stuff Ben , thank you .
Thanks!
Hello! Thank you for your wonderful terrarium making videos. I am wondering what your thoughts are on using birch wood in an enclosed terrarium?
This answered sooo many questions. Thanks for sharing as always your voice is soothing and great information. Thanks Cindy 😊✌
Love love love these videos. I just built my first terrarium after binging on your videos :)
What is that plant that looks like a mini-palm, in the terrarium you were talking about condensation.
By any chance could you make a small video on it? We would love to see it 😊
hi, what kind of led lamps do you use on your shelves?
You are tooo kind
Hello! I love your videos! I was wondering if a yellow light would do as well as the white? Tnxx and keep on the good work
You should do a video on terrariums with small openings. I cant seem to fin any tips on how these are built. Tweezers? Do you use seed instead of actual plants? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Hi. Thank you so much for this and your other videos. I’m a huge fan of terrariums but, I guess because it looks so easy to build one, if not keeping them alive and thriving, unfortunately I’ve never slowed down long enough to learn how to build one correctly. Therefore, it was obviously all down hill from there. The fact that your videos are not only informative, but interesting and enjoyable to listen to contributed greatly to slowing me down, so thanks. This might be a silly question, but I tend to overthink things far too much and I really want to make this work for me (and the terrarium of course). When you say “sealed” container, do you mean airtight? Or, just a basic container with a lid on top? I’ll continue to look through your videos for more information about this and other questions I have, but I’d love to be able to start a new one relatively soon and I’m really committed to doing it right from beginning to end. Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words, Beth! Sealed just means with a lid, it doesn't necessarily mean airtight. I think airflow is important to terrarium health and a totally airtight container isn't a good thing.
🙏🏽 thanks. You do a fine job. Wishing you the best for growing your channel.
my livingroom window is north facinf in the Netherlands, so is my garden. and I happen to love all things moss, hosta, fens and such (shady garden too, esp in winter) as a result my house is also humid and mould likes to grow even if Iventilate my house, so I wonder if that nasty black stuff in the house will thrive in my pots or jars toom been here for 2 years, been battling the stuff
comprehensive care for an open terrarium please. thanks!
Hi! I don''t actually make open terrariums but it would be very similar to caring for a regular houseplant. The only difference is that the terrarium won't have drainage holes
تو فوق العاده ای مرد.
So with adding nutrient soil to your terrarium, does this eventually get build up? Like will you have to do a dirt extraction?
What do you do if your moss has gone out of control? I feel like I need to trim it back, but I don't know the best way to do this for moss
Is it okay to use wrb light on terrarium set up with colored plants other than green?
So I have a Closed terrarium with some worms, isopods, and Snails in it. The critters seem to be doing fine. Just a few plants, which are a little bundle of grass and some moss which also seem to be doing fine. It's super humid and hot where I am so they only receive artificial light. It's been well for about 2 - 3 months but I've noticed the other day my water is low. How concerned should I be? And would it be okay to simply pop it open for a bit a lnd refill it??? Any helpful advice is very much appreciated
do you have a link to the light strips on the shevles ?
Just out of curiosity do you need moss when creating a terrarium? I am about to begin my first one and just wanted to be sure.
Are those ikea display cabinets?
Any warm white led light bulb? No specific watts or lumens?
Can i use tap water conditioner?
Nice video. Is condensation related to watering ? Does fog and more condensation mean you have over watered.
Also, my terrarium always have condensation. (Full day and night) Are there times of day condensation should be absent or I am over watering ??
Some channel say - condensation should be only in early morning and evening
Condensation occurs when the outside temperature is cooler than the inside of the terrarium. The terrarium acts as a greenhouse does and heat builds up inside, especially if sat by a sunny window. When the warm, humid air inside the terrarium comes into contact with the cooler glass sides , it condenses. There is little that can be done to avoid that. The more ventilation you have, the less this will occur (as you better balance internal and external temps and excess humidity can escape) but the humidity inside will reduce, negatively impacting plants that require high humidity the more you increase ventilation.

Moss grows in the pot with my Siberian pine houseplant on its own. I didn't put it there and I don't overwater it. It just grows. Funny. Maybe some symbiotic relationship.
