  • Finally reworking the other arrangement from the courtyard. We are also checking in on the first pot to see how the succulents are adjusting to the warmer days. Remember, when working with cuttings in the summer to provide some type of shade for the best results. Heat can be detrimental to succulent cuttings so prop up an umbrella and watch them flourish.

Those fantastic red pots with the red door- fantastic. I learned from you here to be brave and bold and instinctive packing amazing succulent cuttings in dry soil (if you don't have them callous over first), and that they will shrink a little as they focus on forming water seeking roots and use up water stored in their leaves. Also to shade new arrangements some until they've had months to establish. Also didn't know my aeoniums might turn into little balled up leaf clusters in the heat when they go dormant, but that you can keep watering them until they go dormant. Being new to aeoniums if they folded up I would've thought they were dead and put them in my garden of death if not tossed them. Plus I would have felt terrible that I'd screwed up and killed them. Whew. Thanks.

I live in Dallas TX and this year we have got monsoon like rain I used succulent and cactus mix with extra perlite and sand to make sure containers are draining properly and drying in a short period of time . Because if I learned anything about succulents and cacti is that they love water but not staying soggy or moist for extended periods of time. You want that mix to dry with in a 24 hour that the goal I strived for. Laura please correct me if I'm wrong ? Lol Thank for the video Laura and happy to see your family is healthy and happy !
