    Yet another great video. Ive been using Sealer black a lot recently as i paint on aluminium panels which are white, but I prefer painting on a dark surface. After a little playing with reduction they flow great through my e4 LPH80 and man is the finish tough. I use erasing and scratching techniques with Wicked over the top and do not need to intercoat over the black. It just holds up by itself. Killer product.

    Imo one of the best products to come from Createx. I sprayed my van bonnet with it last year, later that day we had thunder storms and our summer was over and I couldn't put a protection coat over the sealer so it sat like that threw the winter i also have seagulls nesting on my house so obviously my van got covered in seagulls scrap as I don't have a garage, anyhoo when I washed the crap off my van a year later the lacquer on the rest of the van had reacted to the bird poop where as the bonnet cleaned up like i'd just painted it that day, like I say a great product..

    I currently use Stynylrez because it’s a water based primer. It covers well and levels itself. Biggest complaint is it clumps up even in the bottle and causes all kinds of issues in the airbrush. Do the Autobourne sealers clump up easily?
    Watching your videos makes me wonder if it’s time to switch primers.

      Thin more using 4011 Reducer, not 4012) ~ 20% per volume for an LPH-80 with a 1.2mm (E4) tip. For larger projects, AutoBorne 6013 Silver Sealer is better applied with a full-sized gun with a 1.3mm or 1.4mm tip, but the 1.2mm LPH-80 works, just may need an extra coat or two due to 20% reduction. Thank you.

      Yes, 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear can be added to AutoBorne Sealer, although for plastics its not really required. If you do make a mix, try AutoBorne Sealer 3:1 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear, thin 10% -15% 4011 Reducer. Apply with a 1.3mm/1.4mm tip-size. Thank you.

    What would you recommend for doing a fiberglass helmet in teal? I want a vibrant teal, but I also plan on doing a teal flake with it. First time trying this, but I want to achieve my vision.

      @CreatexColors  Před 2 lety +2

      If using 4666 candy2o Tealiscious, a sealer base of 6013 Silver Sealer will work well. If applying Wicked w309 Pearl Teal, a sealer base of either 6001 Sealer White or 6001 Sealer White tinted with 6009 Process Blue will work; mix Sealer White 2:1 Sealer Process Blue. 6010 Sealer Green could also be used with the Sealer White & Process Blue mix for a more teal looking sealer base. Just make sure the sealer base is a lighter value then the teal color applied over it. Thank you.

    Hey Chris, I've been painting Gundam models using my hp-cs and createx products. I've been trying to prime my pieces (after washing them and sanding them decently well with 600 grit) using the sealers, but they seem to be very fragile or not adhere well. I taped a piece after a day and it pulled the sealer off, and in other cases even handling the piece scrapped some sealer off. What do you think I'm doing wrong? I'm a huge fan of the Createx products, these videos you make are great, thanks Chris

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  Před 2 lety +2

      Scuff with 320-grit or a red coarse pad, and make sure to clean after with a solvent-based degreaser. The HP-CS is a 0.35mm tip? Please note as instructed in the video and tech sheets, the smallest tip-size recommended for spraying AutoBorne Sealer is a 0.5mm tip. Thinning AutoBorne Sealer so it sprays through a 0.35mm tip requires too much reducer for proper adhesion of the Sealer. If needing to use a 0.35mm tip, you may wish to try Wicked Opaque Colors as the primer. Thank you.

    Question…..I have both Silver Sealer and 6001 White Sealer. I paint fishing lures (hard plastic). They are typically coated first with opaque white to make the subsequent colors more vivid. One of the problems we run into is the baits may get scratched when adding a mesh mask over the top. If White Sealer is this tough, is there any reason I should not be using it?
    Also I’ve added Candy2O to silver sealer to get very vivid metallics. Any reason to not do this?

      Kinda, as fluorescent colors are very translucent. Make a test panel or two to determine the result. Best will be extending the fluorescent with 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear; try mixing 1:1. My airbrush doesn't seem to put out as much paint as the .5mm you used in the video, looked a bit larger than mine. but at any rate If I reduce the paint a little to much its beads up on my substrate, if I go thicker the airbrush quickly starts to become clogged and spray erratically at best. I'm spraying around 35psi and using 2 drops of your 5607 retarder in about 8ml of paint. yes very small models so I don't need to mix more than that. Depending on the condition of the helmet, i.e. new vs. having surface imperfections that need to be filled will determine whether to apply a surfacer / build-primer after scuffing with 320-grit / a coarse, red pad. If applying a build-primer, we do not recommend rattle can primers. Apply AutoBorne Sealer after scuffing the helmet surface or primer in the case its applied; the primer should be scuffed 400 - 600 grit before applying AutoBorne Sealer.
