Great game for Samsonov
WOW. What a great win for Sammy! He stood on his head tonight & made some key saves for the Buds! Congrats to Samsonov for a great game played! Robertson's goal was great too!
He didn’t face a lot of shots but fantastic game from Samsonov. He had like a half dozen incredible saves.
Officially only 16 shots, but there were six or seven quality ones, and Sammy made a heck of a contribution to this win. Nice to see.
Very solid third period for the Leafs. It took Seattle 13 minutes to get their first shot and they only had 4 in the entire period. Also, it's nice to see Samsonov play well.

@@yelawolf-3063 They usally dont allow many shots but they allow very dangerous ones and screw up big time in their D zone. Its not always about number of shots and you should know that if you watch nhl regularly. 20-25 shots is usually well above enough to win the game. On the other hand Leafs had many 40+ shots games and the lost. Theres shots and shots.

That was a great game overall. Sammy played solid and made big saves. But we have to say every game, although Brodie played well overall, almost very critical mistakes make the game tie. Same for Nylander, high risk low reward plays.
But other than that, good physicality and sticks all around

Hard not to feel good for Samsonov. As a Canucks fan it's nearly impossible to cheer for the Leafs, but it's also hard not to want Samsonov to succeed 😅 Seattle could have easily won that game with less than 20 shots if it wasn't for some stellar saves.
Matthews' goal was art. Also ice to not blow a lead. And i loved that they played Stone Cold Steve Austins musc when they dropped the gloves :D Go Leafs go

Toronto is lucky they won that one, it was a struggle.
It’s a complete 180 with the Kraken since Beniers, Burakovsky and Dunn all went out last Sat. At least Burky is back, but all four line configurations are different from those during the win streak and it shows. No wins since. Frustrating.
Really hate how there has to be a fight after every hit. Can the NHL decide if hitting is allowed or not, im sick of this.

It’s weird because I feel like the Leafs have just simply showed up and shut a game down like this more often this year. But then they’ve also failed to show up or have gotten no goaltending more often as well and here they are fighting for their lives to make the playoffs. Their good games have gotten better and their bad games seem to have gotten worse, but they’re just as inconsistent as ever lol. In short: BRAAAD

I don't understand why Timmins was fined for cross checking. We see way worse cross checks all the time. No doubt it was dirty and I have no issue with it being a fine, but why is the fine for "cross checking" per se?

The played for Keefe’s job. Otherwise they’d have to play under a coach that made them play for 60 mins a game. Hard work.
Very glad to see Sammy get the win. He deserves it. But all this shows is that the leafs can only beat .500 teams. They can’t close out games against elite teams. Not a good look. I’ll be at the game next Saturday, I hope they prove me wrong.
It's also on a back to back night with travel. This is a game they should be losing.
@@jeffreycairns767 after tonight’s game, the Kraken are 19-18-9. In tonights game they where missing some key guys and the flu bug is going through there locker room. Even though it’s the second half of a back-to-back, everyone should have been expecting a W.

Just watched the highlights. Man the leafs defence just gets picked apart. They are not winning anything the way they wander around their own net lost. The highlights indicate a couple massive saves won them this game. Thats great, they need goaltending as any good team does, but the way they play in their own end they need great goaltending more than they should. Teams cant score their way to a cup (regardless of how well their own goalie is playing). Teams with good golaies are generally playing good team defence. This team needs to make a change to the defensive composition and they need to do it soon. To many teams right outside the door and leafs have had an easy schedule to date. That makes me think its going to get really tough after the trade deadline, right about the time this team has always shrunk away. As nice as it is to have fancy shinny things like Marner, Nylander Mathews, they dont need all three. They need to get better at competing when the bounces dont go their way and pucks dont go in the net. Reduce quality chances otherwise they will loose close games like this more than not.
That said I understand you cant just make a trade and get fleeced because your trying to fill a gap. Chances are they dont really get to fix the issue until the offseason.
You only watched the highlights, that's why you're under that impression for this game.
Yes, Sammy needed to make big saves, but that's what goalies are for. Vasilevsky, Bobrovsky, Hill, just to name a few, have given their teams, even when being outplayed, chances of winning games, playoff series and even cups.
That being said, 17 shots is a hell of a low number, and Leafs defense was super competent and good throughout the game.
Again, through Highlights you wouldn't know, but they played really well and those Sammy saves were the only chances they actually got to score throughout the game
