    As someone that has taught themselves videography, and have watched 36700 videos on lighting alone, your explanation, set up, tone, models, advice, and pretty much everything was spot on. Sidenote, currently 2020.

    This channel is so good that a lot of times I find myself thinking how it is possible for all of you to dedicate your valuable time to teach us all these amazing things. It's mind blowing.

      Another lighting technique that I want to know which is similar is how to create low light scenes without creating camera grain.

    • @aceofclubskid
      @aceofclubskid Před 7 lety +1

      They covered this concept a little bit in their "direction of light" video. An important element is lighting just the bare essentials of what you want to be seen, but keeping the majority of the scene dark. Using Silhouettes or edge lighting tends to be very effective! It also usually helps to keep your ISO low, and if possible open up your lens to a lower aperture. Take a look at where the lights are coming from, and what they illuminate in some popular movies, that will help a lot!

    Hey, can you compare diferent lights quality, in terms of colour rendering. I wander what is real difference between eg: cheep work lights, regular bulb, sunlight, fluorescent, kinoflo and Arri. Can you achieve the same results wit diferent light sources, using Gels, white balance and color grading etc. or the light source and color rendering quality realy makes the difference.

    • @llauoylliklliwi970
      @llauoylliklliwi970 Před 6 lety

      Randall Martin the difference between them is the amount of photons witz different wavelength aka. Red green blue (rgb). A normal bulb is very calm and warm, so it is more yellow/redish an not strong. In light red and green is yellow. In general a light bulb has more green and red and is lower, the sunlight in the summer is more blueish and a flurouscent light has equal amounts of rgb. I think a color chart/spectograph (idk the actual name of them) of these things would help you a lot.

    • @JamesPyle
      @JamesPyle Před 6 lety

      The only type of light capable of reproducing a hundred percent of the color spectrum is incandescent or halogen lighting. even the most expensive modern LEDs or fluorescence are typically only in the 90% range of color rendering ability. Case closed.....
