....come back :(
Movies like Aliens and so on just looks better, Still today! CGI cant even compare.
thank you
Cgi movement of living things sticks out to me
This is a fantastic deep dive into why Star Wars is so great ,wnd what is so wrong with it
I guess I'm probably the only person in this comment section that can recognize CGI probably 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time it looks real enough that it could possibly not be CGI, but the scene moves so fast that I know it is CGI. You can have airplanes and helicopters in the air filming each other. You can also have cars on the ground filming each other. I don't know how you're doing a video on CGI, and don't know that. It's been done many times. The easiest way to spot CGI is flaws in physics and sounds. It used to be much easier with reflection issues, shadowing, lighting, etc., but now it's way harder to spot. The ironic thing about CGI is when it comes to realistic scenes, they often do it to save money. Instead of paying extras, blocking off a street, hiring stuntmen, etc. But the end product is less interesting and less people are interested in seeing movies in general because they know it's just a glorified video game. The magic of movies is long gone and yes CGI did contribute to that.
This is a lot like what David Mamet teaches in his book On Directing! If you liked this you should give it a read
Just discovered this show from the dating single mom's Instagram and I have the research it. Thank you for creating this. I'm in my 50s and it's genius. Nicely done
Just saw the show a while ago and thought : How was it made? Good stuff.
In Doctor Strange 1, they made realistic models for Benedict Cumberbatch and other actors, and there is a lot of CG in the movie, even the guy who got inmovilized by an ancient mechanism was CGI
I don't hate it, but I do feel like it's an overused and improperly used. I find CGI great in the background or standalone but when you place something real next to it is where it starts to fail. A person standing next to a CGI explosion and is not affected by the heat one should have can look good but feel fake. Then it really relies on how well the rest of the movie is to suspend my disbelief, even if it's fake who cares if it's entertaining.
Excelente información. Gracias
which movie is in 3.37?
Guys😢season 3?
There should be a mix of good CGI and good practical effects for optimum results
I'd love to voice act on this show XD
Classic movies, like fine music books or food are an acquired taste, when you acquire taste you will enjoy them. Of course going from home cooking to fast food, Ellington to rap, Shakespeare to soaps and Chaplin to bathroom humour has made climbing back to civilization a titanic effort. I'm 73 but I like mainly stuff before my time, ok. the four Scousers were fine tunesmiths and I grew up with them too but from 1200 to the present all art forms have much to offer, and in our time at the touch of a screen!
For me, old movies are like time travel. I love them.
I love this film about black and white movies. But you left out the gorgeous black and white art deco style of the early musicals.
beautiful, this is much appreciated.
This was so helpful! I appreciate the specific examples of when an element may follow in more than one category and involve more department.

thank you for the examples, very helpful
hey why are you not uploading videos from past 4 years your videos are very great and informative
Compare this to 7, 8 and 9. Compare the obvious vision Lucas had. His overzealous info-dumping is the sign of a first draft created by someone who is passionate. It needs to be fixed, but it _can_ be fixed, and there's a lot of love there to fix it. One thing I think that Star Wars does really well, besides just having really good actors, is that it feels like it was written by a writer. I can see a lot of this dialogue being pulled straight from a novel. It's entirely convinced of itself with not a hint of self-consciousness, but it also has depth and is interesting. Like when that one guy is telling Darth Vader that his _precious_ force hasn't seemed to achieved much given how much he hypes it up, and Vader gets offended and remotely throttles him. It's a great bit of writing, but also demonstrates the use of the force, and the personalities of the characters, and the chain of command: Vader may be the most powerful man in the room, but he doesn't necessarily have the most authority in the situation.
It's probably just because I already know the characters, but the scene where he's talking to his friend Biggs (sp?) and they're checking out whatever's happening with binoculars, I think that scene is awesome! It shows characterization, shows the life that's only barely hinted at in the final cut, and it's great to see how Luke acts among his friends. I love when the girl snatches the binoculars while he's in middle of talking, lol. I think that ultimately the right choice was made, but I wonder if they could have found a way to mix in some of this stuff without breaking the flow.
The Sting sucks!
To be honest, many of the "non-conspicuous CGI" you've shown looked quite 'off'. This is the disturbing feeling I get from today's movies - most of the shots are a little 'off' so I always suspect I'm watching an cutscene from a videogame.
Had my first day as PA on a location shoot today and I can confirm that this video is a perfect portrayal, and a wonderful educational piece for anyone that wants to try this out. I was stressed out of my mind, but a lot of these tips helped me have a good first day. Thanks Rocket Jump :)
