Nice and honest review, save your money , yes it looks cool, my opinion is it’s Let down by its high price, poor range, glitchy app, there are numerous cheaper more reliable better alternatives already on the market, it’s a big no from me.

Best reviewer out there. I watch a lot of the drone reviewers and the top guys are good but they seem to be a bit bias at times. You tell the truth, good or bad. You also show the stuff that I want to know about, like range, speed, RTH, stability, and transmission quality. Good job once again👍🏻

Wow a drone with great potential, but not quite there yet. I suspect they will fix the bugs and upgrade the camera. Until the image quality and performance meets or exceeds my Phantom 4 pro v2, gotta give this a thumbs down for now. A really risky business venture when the trend is for a more portable drone plus as it is now it can't compete with the inspire series. Would really like to see this thing improve, but I bet the investors in this company are a bit nervous. IMHO you are still the top drone reviewer on u tube. Keep up the good work.
The thing that's gets me is why put out a half baked cake, it is not ready why didn't thy hold. Must need money.
@@andrewap77 Yup you nailed it. Seems like at times autel and dji have also put out drones with issues, but eventually they did a good job of making them right.
Was wondering if you had done a range test. Some others have reported extreme short range in the class of toy drones and I would like to see a definitive test of this aspect . Looks like a fine drone with lots of potential when it is fully debugged.

Great review Dustin. Xdinamics needs more work on the drone software. I own Typhoon H. Switches on the control panel are more efficient to use compared to the second touch screen. It is only my opinion. Thanks for the review!
That’s some serious tech put into that drone. It does seem like a bit too much to handle. Would definitely like to see what X Dynamics brings into the market for 2020. Especially something that competes directly with the Mavic Mini.
Good job, and very informative. Doesn't seem quite "Ready for Primetime" as far as some of the glitches you discovered. I really don't like it when manufacturers fail to do their "due diligence" and perform adequate beta testing on their own, then release a product which isn't ready (as this one seems to be). Perhaps after this video, they will contact you with some updates. The FPV performance is pretty poor, especially with the UAV pointed your way. Sure is a 'big bird' .. kind of reminds me of that big XK X500 clunker, although this one looks much better. I don't know, for $2500 is seems to have a way to go before it becomes a good value. On the positive side, the 4K onboard video was pretty decent, so there is that. Thanks for the look. We'll be watching for future updates. Glad I got my EVO last year .. still the only 4K 60 FPS UAV out there. Cheers!

The Evolve just doesn't hold up to the hype. I thought it would be better than that. I saw it on another CZcams channel and it seemed like such a cool drone but thanks to your thorough review, I can see a lot of glitches and problems and for that price it should not be half-baked like this. Thank you for the review Dustin. You are the mad scientist of drones LOL.

Why in the world would anyone spend $2500 on this? It's way too buggy to have been pushed onto the market. My Bebop 2 has better return to home accuracy than this, hell my Disco has better return to home accuracy! Losing FPV at 1380 ft? If i want that I'll fly my Phantom 3 standard! Overall I'm not very impressed with this drone,XDynamics has alot of work to do to make this worth it's price tag. Thanks Dustin for being impartial and honest,great video. I look forward to the range test but am not expecting big numbers.
Dustin, I'm thinking of downsizing to a smaller drone such as Spark. I don't think this is a typical review for you but would you consider doing a "Is it still worth it/the best of the current market." type of review?
I've been thinking about it but I try to stay away from "best of" stuff because it starts to show bias and opinions and I like to stick to honest facts. I may start doing some though 👍

For that kind of a price you would think out of the box ready with no trouble with anything.
It's a pretty sharp looking drone however not really impressed. I was waiting till it came out and was thinking of maybe getting it but now way to many issues and really pricey. will wait to see any other updates you post but I'm leaning to a no on this bird! Great review Dustin [ as usual ]. This thing is way way overprice and only offers mediocre performance. I am extremely satisfied with my Mavic 1 thank you.
Give me the Mavic zoom or the underdog the Parrot bebop power or the Parrot Anafi anyday.
Ok...truth..I'm disappointed Dustin. I'm glad i purchased another mavic pro. Also... now with the dji update.... you can utilize dual controllers on the mavic pro. I just so happen to have two controllers...😎 good show though m8! Thank you... you're the bestest!

Still looks good...... Camera isn't bad at all and the gimbal works pretty well.
But as a finished premium drone it has way too many minor issues and at least one major issue and in that price range there are better drones. Pity
I guess this one is more for like a wedding or picture session, not much range. However the video and options for video are impressive. Seems like this would be great for a production and video photography business. Great review.
I do think that's mainly what it's marketed for. Closer range, mainly as a manual professional option you can mount better cameras on. I just have to test EVERYTHING of coarse 😂🍻

If the Evolve cost $1000 I'd be impressed, but it costs 2.5k! Not of interest for me, for a big, stable and safe camera bird I'm still more than happy with my Xiaomi Mi 4k, which gets 20 minute-plus flight times--the first Evolve battery was only 13 minutes! Does it even have any obstacle avoidance sensors? 🤔
I agree, I prefer my Xiaomi Mi 4K and DJI P4 and they're around $1700-2000 less :/ shocking price for a drone that has issues with the application, little obstacle avoidance etc
Yep, the Evolve is not fish and not meat as we say. To large for a consumer drone and probably not good enough for cinematic productions. It created a heck of attention and its heavy and dangerous for other people as hell when it falls down or gets wild. Drones like the Anafi, mavic, Xiaomi and even the Hubsan Zino can do similar things in my mind even in wind which was the advantage of the larger drones in the past but the super lightweight, silent and small anafi for example is even good when there is some wind and you dont create any attention, you cant even hear it in 50m distance, those things are key in my mind.

Thanks for the review. Is it possible that the Evolve tracks the controller like Yuneec drones do and puts a "safe circle" around the control to prevent it from coming too close to the pilot? I thought I read that the Evolve does have that feature which would account for the 10 foot RTH offset. I thought it was a dynamic RTH where it RTH'd to the controller rather than the actual take off point.
For the money the Evolve is definitely not worth it. Even if it had no bugs, glitches and even had a 4 mile range, the fact that it doesn't have a 1 inch sensor on the camera let alone a 4K 60FPS camera really makes me look away.
The specs for controller (ground station) on xdynamics website do say there is a built in GPS but there was no follow function I could find or any other function that seems to use the controller gps at this time. Perhaps in an update.
Can't help but wonder how there are a few videos showing these same issues with this drone and then there is one popular CZcams channel showing nothing but rainbows and sunshine with this drone. The things that make you go HMMMMM. Such a good looking drone. I hope they can get it worked out soon.

The picture quality looks awesome. Seems to fly very well. But that's about it. There are others that do that as well and better; for a lot less $$$$

Too noisy too expensive too bulky bad range not enough flight time no obstacle avoidance dodgy app....All in all just not quite DJI . I’ll stick with my M2P😁 It’s a shame, I’m sure we’re all waiting for the next big thing, it’s just not this.

Nice camera, nice controller, everything else has been done better at a fraction of the price.
I think that the remote rather than innovative, is a sample of what other manufacturers could offer at a more reasonable price. On the other hand, the drone looks very good, but it is very large and the camera does not impress. Hopefully one day a flight platform will arrive on the market that offers what we all want: Stability, scalability and reasonable price. By the way Dustin, have you seen the GDU Saga?

even in 2017 this is not very impressive
i wouldnt say outdatet but impractical, for a consumer drone you dont need this large formfactor, smaller drones are able to do anything this drone can do, even in stronger wind which was the benefit for larger drones in the past. For cinematic productions this drone will be to cheap and small, thats the problem of those drones i think. Its to large for the consumer market and lacking image quality for the Pro's. I always had DJI stuff in the past but currently i would buy the parrot anafi because its that small, lightweight, silent and still good in the wind and thats what matter to me the most these days. Dont create to much attention, dont be a risk for people and the Anafi is like 350g? In the end with a drone like the Evolve you wont have it with you all the time and you dont want to fly it lets say on vacation because people feel angered by it etc... I would even say the Anafi created better videos.
@@danbarb9728 Well, for me this should be called a consumer drone. The camera is nothing special, signal transmission okay but not really professional. There are no benefits using this drone or any today modern drone. Sure my opinion but come on, the price is ridiculous.

I may have been spoiled by my Anafi but the Evolve won't work for me in the suburban area where I do most of my flying. The Anafi is super quiet. By the time it's 30 feet away you don't hear it. I could still hear the Evolve at over 200 feet, too much of an attention getter for me. I like the controller features but not at this price.

Never have. Only a few small race drones that went out of signal range.

Thanks for this review, and as usual you tell it like its. But for the price of this Drone it has way to many bugs out of the box. In my opinion it is far from primtime even at have the cost it is not worth it.....Back to the the drawing board.

Great looking drone, however, it is quite slow and isn't very accurate with GPS, which caused drifting, and imprecise return to home. I will stick with my custom-made drone which gets 45minutes of battery life, and 50miles per hour top speed. Great video though as always!😁

This seems to be a company that focused on all the wrong things... yeah the drone looks cool, yeah the controller is cool...but... for $2500.. this is too buggy. They need to focus on the core things ( like stability and range).

Hey brother hope all is well know you we're hopefully not anymore going thru a rough time with them curbside trash. Becides this virus going around!! But I have a question? What drone should I buy? I want quality and distance!! They are showing the zino pro 2 flies further than the Platinum which is a huge price difference. I love DJI'S quality and it's an American platform the Husban Zino Pro 2 I think it's a China platform I mean out of the box best drone plus DJI PLATINUM parts are in the US so faster easier to get. But nobody's compared them to each other all I have seen is it side by side with the Mavic Air with Range helper that's it. Now with the range helper and the Platinum I don't know. So a few questions boss!!

Love the style of this and who doesn’t need more carbon fiber in their life, but if DJI released a drone at this price point with such poor functionality and average video quality it would be universally slated. Competition is always welcome and needed to keep the industry growing but it does seem all the attention was paid to the aesthetics rather than usability in this case. Another fantastic video dude!

I’ve seen a few reviews on this but yours is the most in depth. Cool drone, the big selling point though is the controller. If they can get the software working better it’s going to go from being a good drone to a great drone but like you said it needs some work. They need to drop the price a little too. Right now it’s priced in between a Phantom 4 Pro and an Inspire. Size wise it is right in between but not as far as value. Great review as always. I hope they are working on some updates. 🤙
