  • I knew having a Vizsla was going to be something special, but I didn't know Senna was going to change my life so much for the good!!
Owning a Vizsla is a huge responsibility, a decision that shouldn't be taken lightly and one that should be researched thoroughly. They need a heck of a lot of exercise and constant company. They are nicknamed Velcro Vizsla for a really good reason. Please consider spending a day with a Vizsla to really appreciate what their needs are before committing to one, perhaps try to find out if there is a local Vizz Whizz in your area where you can go and meet multiple vizsla. They are a truly stunning breed and will reward you with the most amazing relationship. This video covers a years of Senna's life and can not reflect what everyday living is like!
    For more information and guidance:

Please also note that the cat is a Bengal and loves to tease, play, chase and bathe with our Vizsla, they are the closest of friends and play together a lot.

I have had three vizslas and they are amazing dog but they are not a dog you can just put in the backyard or a crate. They are extremely active and belong with active families. I only say this because, I love this breed so much and only want families to get them if they are a good fit. They are called the Velcro dog for a reason. I just lost my 15 year old female right after Christmas and she was by my side until the last few minutes when she had a stroke. Their love and loyalty is so strong that they really need families that want a dog to be an intricate part of the family. They are the best dogs I have ever had loyal, gentle, loving, curious great with family but they are very active and just want to be a part of the family and everything you do. If you embrace their needs they will change your life in an amazing way!

These dogs are overflowing with fun and love. My friend had one and I loved him so much I'd make up any excuse to visit. Once I was having a terrible day and he by inutition jumped on me and comforted me for half an hour. What a great dude.

Very sound advice. I've talked more people out of owning one than I have recommended them as a perfect pet. When you bring a Vizsla into your home, you've just acquired more than a dog....you've brought home a whole new lifestyle.

I like the way they can be frenetic then incredibly patient; quick to learn and then trying to find the dog that seems to hide in the water bowl. Brilliant dogs; bonkers but brilliant.

My boy Hector will be 10 in May 2013 and he is just starting to slow down, still full of enthusiasm, but now doesn't want to go as far as he used to, so 2 hour walks will suffice. Senna is gorgeous so many similar characteristics to Hector, toy in mouth under blanket a 33kg lapdog, so tactile devoted loyal and loving.

I had a vizla since i was like 4years old. He passed when i was 19, two days after i came back from university to my hometown for holidays. I hadnt seen him in like 7 months until then and i believe he waited to say goodbye to me. I watch this video and i get super sad, its been two years since then and i dont want to have another dog except a vizsla, but living in a big city i dont think he can be as happy as somewhere with lots of nature :(

I'm sorry this video makes you feel sad Joaquin. I hope you find a way

with them and see how they get on? Never say never.

vizlas are happy with owners who can recognize their intelligence! You can own one in the big city, you just have to lead an active lifestyle, this dog DEMANDS activity and thats whats so special about them to me! Another thing about my babay girl mindy the vizla......she is the fastest thing on 4-legs in my neighborhood! rabbits will fall over from sheer panic once they see a vizla on the horizon trust me!

    • @susanlynn5159
      @susanlynn5159 Před 7 lety +1

Joaquin Esteban Happily, I can tell you from experience that Vizsla's really are versatile! I live in Chicago (not the suburbs:) and my Vizsla was quite happy growing up here. She's blind now (for a little over a year) so not active outdoors anymore, but even still, she can follow the path of whatever critter was in the yard by scent and it looks like she can still see :)
**City life does mean that the owner is responsible for getting the dog out for walks and playing with it. A lot. Incredible but true, the Vizsla tied with another breed for the 10th most popular breed of dog in the city a few years ago. So don't rule it out!!!! Talk to the Vizsla club in your area and get some more info. and don't be afraid to take the plunge. They are so worth it and so adaptable!!!!!

I have had a vizsla my entire life (since I was probably 9 or so). She is my first dog, and the best ever. She is attached mostly to my father and brother, sad for me, but she ALWAYS needs someone around. When we go camping, if anyone leaves she will whine until we are all together again. She even likes to sit in the bathroom with you! We saved ours from a shelter and she has a black nose, so she is partly a mix but is otherwise indistinguishable from a normal vizsla. Thanks Foosa, you're sweet!

We just put our beloved German Shepherd down and it really leaves a hole in you. We are immediately researching this breed and have decided to go for it and have found a female puppy close by. We are leaving in just a little bit to possibly pick her up. I have been reading about 'zoomies' and 'sharkies' and actually got a little nervous about this. But the pros so outweigh the cons as I WANT a dog that 'lives on your head...' :) This video has changed my mind : ) We are very experienced dog owners, have a full acre, fenced and a kitten. We fully intend to go through Puppy Kindergarten and Obedience 1 at least... This should be an interesting next 10 years : )
Thank you so much for this video. It was perfect!

If some one wants a Viszla then there's the number 1 priority to let the dog run like crazy for hours every week because of their weak ankles. I have a Viszla, Maxie, he's been the most adorable and friendly dog i've met, he's getting old though, 13 years old almost. But the amazing part about that is that he still wants to play, he jumps around when he has strength for it and runs around the house and lawn, too bad we can't let him do these things too mutch... Considering getting a Viszla is really what this videos title says, it changes your life because this dog will never let go of your side, an amazing dog with the best personality, allways playful and allways happy.

Cool dog. As far as neurosis goes, this dog is tame compared to an English Springer Spaniel field variety. Dog dove off the roof of a house, was hit by a car, jumped out of a moving car, ate rat poison, a few rags here and there, tons of creek water, chewed rocks, would rather to talked to than petted, listening with an air of superiority. Stole sandwiches and anything he could climb on to, and tried to dominate every dog and person he met. At the end, he refused to die and we had to put him down at the age of 17. He howled until he couldn't any more.

She still does her sprints in large circles, loves cuddling and prods you to stroke her. She's had a rough time as someone put poison out when she was pregnant and we came soo close to losing her but she's a tough cookie and has gotten thru and is healthy but alas no puppies.

My friend’s vizsla is super sweet and loves people, but if it hasn’t ran in over two days, it goes cRAZYYY. If you are thinking on owning a vizsla, make sure that you can give it intense exercise (most preferably running) up to at least over an hour a day, unless you want it jumping on you and your friends in a sleepover with a ball in its mouth (I know from experience) . I’m no dog expert, but if you don’t let your vizsla burn all of it’s energy, it’s gonna be frickin bouncing off the walls.

Quite often people liken them to Rhodesian Ridgeback. Colour is pretty much the only similarity. It is usually people who do not know the breeds that make the comparison. The form and function couldn't be more different.

Senna is gorgeous. She's funny when she plays with your cat :) What is this song called? I love it.

Love the video! Such a sweety :) I have a Vizsla myself and just love her to death. But as one can see in your video you need to be around 24/7, run with them, play with them and comfort them when they snuggle next to you. It's not at all a dog you can leave at home and go to work a whole day... Lots of fun and joy with Senna!

The running at the start of the video - we call this the Viz Whizz - every now and again our Vizsla "Jinx" just wants to run and run and run, weaving in and out of anything that she can find to make it more exciting. Vizslas - if you've the time to exercise them and pay them all the attention they crave and deserve you will have a fantastic friend and companion - they really are the best of breeds
