Crazy fact: Luke Rockhold has never seen a UFC judges' scorecard. Whether he's finishing his opponents or getting finished, his fights are great.
Gaethje is the only other fighter I can think of at the top of the game that can say that.
The only times he went to a decision were in Strikeforce, against Jacare Souza and Tim Kennedy. Both fights he won.

He's only two fights in, but Michael Chandler. With his next fight being Gaethje I expect that to carry on lol.

That was actually a huge point by Rockhold that Usman and Izzy could have stood up with Francis and possibly changed everything. Smartest thing I think I have ever heard him say, and it seemed to really get Ariel thinking.

I've seen alot of Rockhold Interviews over the Years. And in almost all of them he was trying too hard, which made him come across awkward, arrogant and/or cringey. But this was the opposite...he was real honest and funny. Great Interview!

Middleweight will be so much more fun with Luke Rockhold back in the picture. I hope he wins, he’s a tough match up for everyone in the division.
He’s very very skilled but if he doesn’t keep his hands up, he ain’t stand a chance with a sniper like Izzy.
He's getting old though, he'll be 37 this year and well past his prime. I can't see him fighting for the title ever again, but he can pick up some wins in the top 15-10 before calling it a career. Man needs to keep his hands to protect his chin though, otherwise he'll get chinned again.

37 is not old at 185+. If he all of a sudden adopted top flight boxing defense he could easily dominate the division up to 40-42. He has a great grappling base (arguably the best in * MMA * at 185). Israel will always be the better striker due to their respective paths, but Rockhold is the most well rounded in the division, he just had a bad run against super soldiers of god, polish bears, and a Drunk Irishman from Manchester that he looked past. The mentally stable Rockhold that beat down Weidman (even with really bad staph that he needed surgery for) is a different animal.

I like Luke. He's a character. And he's had quite a few embarrassing stinkers in his career, and mostly of late since he was top of the world. But you have to hand it to him, he keeps having a go at it.
He's never had a boring fight though, win or lose he entertains the fans.

Met Luke in O’ahu back in 2016 at a club, believe it or not he’s actually not that awkward in person and actually pretty chill. Me and my friends came up and got pictures and he bought us a round of drinks. Hope he comes back and gets a W

Adesanya and Usman don’t sign paychecks. They don’t get to decide how much a fighter makes. While it’s nice for fighters to support one another, at the end of the day, Dana White and the people in charge decide how much a fighter makes. I understand fighters want to get paid but they need to understand that if they want to make millions, they need to sell PPVs and tickets. It’s business 101.

If mma got the Ali act like boxing, we'd get two big fights a year, and the best will get paid, but guys like Luke will make even less and disappear into obscurity. There is no middle class in boxing, and promoters won't waste any time or money hyping up mediocre fighters like UFC. A guy of Luke's caliber in boxing would have zero voice. Nobody would know him, and he'd still be fighting in smokers.

Rockhold needs to go for a takedown, his top game and ground and pound are so underrated. I don’t think he can take punches like uriah hall and sean will throw a pace on him. Strickland got wrestled by usman at 70 so that avenue is probably still there for rockhold

He has a good chance and if I remember correctly a huge factor in him losing against Jan was the hard hit he took at the last second of the round because he probably just let his guard down like Wonder Boy against Pettis.

I think he's hated because he was always disrespecting his opponents skill sets. He said of Bisping, Romero and Blackowics that none of them were on his level, he could beat them anywhere and then got KO'd by all of them. He came across as to arrogant and cocky and that he was so much better than everyone else. At lest that's my perspective from what I have heard form others
