    My girls bought me one for father's day. I lined out into a 60W powered 1x12 I had just to see what it would do and it absolutely killed... took it a step further and threw a delay and reverb in between and really killed. So far the peak of my crazy with this little tone monster occurred when I took it to rehearsal and ran it direct through a cab emulator all night... and it more than held it's own against my normal rig. Hands down best value out there!

    If you open the amp, there is 2 LED diode that act has a clipping. If you disable these 2 LED diode, it will increase your volume even louder then what you did. They have videos on CZcams that shows you how to do this and also change your speaker to 8 inch speaker in the Vox amp instead of the 6.5 inch, there is video on this. Good luck and sounds awesome. We used to do this in the 60's by putting larger speaker and it does increase your volume and lot better sound and tone.

      Thats true, make a LED mod and Cap mod. Than you have kinda AC30 sound, but much cheaper...

    The little Vox sounds really good on its own, actually. And it has an 8 ohm speaker. This was interesting, thanks.

    I followed your lead and created a monster sound. I have the Marshall MG100HCFX head and two 4×12 cabs. The head is underwhelming to say the least. I parked the head and ran my Vox AC15 through one cab. For the 2nd cab I first tried the Marshall VS30R and VS15R. Neither really impressed me - great clean sound but the crunch was very, uh, turdish. I hooked up my little Vox Pathfinder 10 and was knocked out. I run the two Vox-driven 4×12's together with an MXR Distortion + fed into an MXR Stereo Chorus the sound freakin' rules. Thanks for the tip. May the Schwartz be with you.

      Loud enough to compete with drums?

    • @lespauldisciple3349
      @lespauldisciple3349 Před 5 lety +1

      It's a fairly loud little concoction but it would depend on the drummer. John Bonham? No. Mitch Mitchell? Yes.

    With a mic near the grille and a room mic mixed together, that little amp would sound great on its own. Impressive.

    This is great!
    I saw another video, where if you disconnect the two led lights from the inside, the tone really cleans up and boosts the amp quite a bit !

    Amazing little amp ... I just received a brand new one one in the mail and am waiting to get the Neutrik socket to use extension speakers as you show in this video .... thanks :) It's nice to hear a guy who can really play doing a demo of what the amp can do ;)

    @voxpathfinder15r Před 6 lety +4

    That's probably a 16 ohm cabinet. And that Vox speaker I am pretty sure is a 5 ohm speaker. It would be over twice as loud if the impedance was better matched.

  • @sunlounger29
    @sunlounger29 Před 6 lety +3

    The pathfinder 15r has a dedicated speaker out and reverb in case someone is interested in this setup. I use it with a 1x12 cabinet.

    • @DonTheGuitarGuy
      @DonTheGuitarGuy Před 2 lety +2

      Damn, I've had the 15r for years now and always wondered if I could only use another speaker I would take it out to jams and gigs because it sounds so good, then I read your comment and went looking, sure enough, the damn things were hidden upside down on back cover haa. Getting old and blind I guess. Always used it as my practice amp at home low vol. to jam along to fiqure out songs. Thanks man and Craig! And yes, I took the 2 red led's out and it def opened up the clarirty.

    Definitely not the loudest but it is among the best at this price point. If you want the loudest get a Stage Right 5 watt tube amp. The only thing you'll want is an EQ pedal and/or an extension cabinet. The Stage Right already has the extension jack.

    Instead of unpluging the speaker leads could you just hook up the line out to the cab

    • @Bleats_Sinodai

      You would have very little volume, since the Line Out is supposed to go onto a mixing board or something similar. It is not meant to drive a speaker!
      You could always get somebody who knows electronics to install a "speaker out" jack for you in the amp.
