(Tips: Check the student’s understanding after every exercise.
Use the chatbox to explain unknown words/ write down corrections. Use simple explanations, as well as an example sentence for each word the student asks you about.
Encourage the student to reply to questions with full sentences.
Praise the student often and tell them how good their skills are. Don’t forget to correct their mistakes, but do it positively and type down the corrections.)

@@AbiGJ mali mali po sagot ko sa tanong ng student. sa exercise 1 nag ask po sya sa meaning ng isang word like yung "conflict" sa sample sentence. tapos tingin agad ako sa online dictionary. na copy ko yung meaning tapos irrelevant yung sample ko dapat pala related sa sentence itself. kaso nabigay ko na sample sentence is related ay sa title ng article mismo.
@@AbiGJ sabi nila okay naman daw ako kase pinaghandaan ko daw po talaga yung suot ko at konting ayos tapos on time po ako dun sa mismong Q&A and friendly daw approach ko po kaya binigyan nila daw po ulit ako ng chance.

I'd just like to ask whether the student has the chance to skip Exercise 1? Prior to my mock demo, I studied and watched multiple videos from other Engoo tutors then I encountered one vid that said the student can skip the 1st exercise. So that's what I did, I asked the "student" if she wanted to skip Exercise 1 but it turns out that "students should not be given a choice to skip an exercise", as I was informed after. Is this true? Or is this true only for beginning tutors?

About the TIN, yes teach, No.1 talaga na requirement and TIN. Kahit di na young ID, kahit young from 1905 ba yon, or 1901, basta young form to prove na nag file ka ng TIN. You will be given 30 days max to process, before ka po mag activate as tutor.

Wow!! So happy for you teach.. You're one step ahead. Thanks for the info. Yes, it's bell bird. Di pa yan mag start ang demo agad. May casual conversation muna kayo with the evaluator. They will ask if you have questions, so prepare ka nalang ng questions about Engoo. Then, mag signal na sila na pwede ka na mag start sa demo if ready ka na. Also, some applicants shared that, sa 15 mins, mag start muna sa Daily News, then bago pa matapos ang 15 mins, i pa proceed ka na sa Free Convo. In general, they can have sudden changes in the demo, so better be ready for that. After your demo may result na yan agad kung pass, fail or for re demo ka. Hoping for the best in your application. Unfortunately I failed the demo lesson. I was not prepared. We did not have the training diritso kami sa demo. Nagka technical problems pa aq.😔 sobrang kinabahan aq. Kaya dapat kapag aapply ready talaga.

Hi, teach! I just received a pass with my Language Test and can schedule my demo! 🥰 Your videos have been a very big help to me. I just wanted to ask, for the demo lesson, is it 15 minutes each for the material and free convo or do we squeeze both of those into 15 minutes?
First of all, congratulations and glad to hear my vids helped you po. As for your question, usually 15 mins each po or depende din po sa evaluator. Be ready nalang po for each scenario. The important thing is na follow mo po ang lesson flow. You can check the flow in my description from one of my mock demos. God bless and best of luck.
It was way different with my actual demo lesson, so I was kind of surprised. The demo for daily news and free convo was squeezed in 20 minutes. But the tips you shared were also mentioned by my evaluator so I'll be seeing her again in my 2nd chance demo.
@@chrishanselStaAna My demo was different too. The evaluator didn't give me a prior notice to what the lesson will be and she acted like an actual student who I have to ask in order to find out which material I will be conducting. We did daily news for 15 mins and that was it.

Hi, no need to go back to step 1. Just continue the lesson flow. As for the lesson notes, no need coz there's also no option where to put that except for actual classes. 😅. Hoping for the best in your demo. Take note of my tips at the end of this demo practice video.

Hi, again Miss Chloe. Some evaluators really utilized the 30 mins each class period, one for Daily News and one for Free Conversation, but some they make it 15 mins for each, respectively. As for timer, there's no timer in the classroom platform during the demo but during the actual classes, there is.

What would you do if you are unable to attend scheduled class? Is sending an advance advice acceptable? Are you allowed to take a break for a number days?
Hi, Josh. Yes, sending an advance advice is acceptable and thus you can cancel the class "with notice" which means lesser penalty. As for the breaks, yes it is allowed. As long you can manage to have at least 1 class per month, then your account is still active. I only have 4 hours total classes for a couple of months now but I was able to have plot and have a class last night which will be my first couple of classes for this month😅

Hello teach! Is it alright to use google/dictionary while having a mock demo lesson just in case I don't know how to explain the meaning of a certain word?
Yes, you may refer to a dictionary. But when you use tp explain, make sure you paraphrase it or use simple words with examples

Yes, may small talk pa po the first time the evaluator entered the room. Just to confirm your identity and internet connection. Then the evaluator will exit and when he/she comes back it will be in a status of a student. That's the time you will start the demo process.
Hello. I just watched your video and it was extremely helpful. I did my Demo yesterday, but had some issues so I was granted a second chance. I have some questions: I was so nervous that I can't seem to remember how I entered the Demo class. Can you please tell me how to enter the Demo class? How do I highlight the words mispronounced from the screen? When the tutor gave the definition for words, did they use the dictionary on the screen? or did she use her own knowledge? How can I practice with you?
Hi. So sorry to hear what happened to ur first demo. To enter the room, just click the link they gave in the e-mail. The link is actually the Bellbird, the name of the platform.
To highlight the word, simply highlight it like highlighting in Windows Word.
It's highly recommended to use your own words in defining. You can use a dictionary from google by opening another window just for reference. But make to define words as simple as possible and with your own example.

What if the student asks the meaning of a word you're not sure of?
Will you get the material to review before the demo?
Please advice
Usually, you'll only know the material 5 mins before the class or most of the time during the class. If you don't know the meaning, you can discreetly open a dictionary on another website, like Cambridge dictionary. They can't see what you open on another website. Then don't give a meaning word by word from the dictionary. Paraphrase it in relation to the use of it in the lesson material. Also, give another example sentence.

Hi. Good question. I didn't notice this. Thanks for pointing out. Reading the meaning of the word is necessary BUT, if the student would like to skip it, you can skip it. ALWAYS ask the student what and how he wants the lesson to go.

I think I included the spiel in the description box so that you can copy it. The important things in the demo is that 1. You follow all the steps from Intro to Wrap Up 2. Time management 3. Define meaning using your own words (never use dictionary words) 4. Familiarize yourself with the Classroom platform (you can search Bell bird, it's free like Skype but no need to download). And in case you won't pass, they will give you a second chance for re-demo.

Yes po, you can open other tabs outside of Engoo classroom website. Di po nila makikita yon. You use your own timer lang po. You can google a timer, marami po free na timer sa google. :)

Hi, teach. Yan ang cons ko ang TPR, nakasanayan ko na kasi from previous ESL company. Di po dapat may TPR, yong slight lang dapat pwede din wala na talaga. More on Japanese kasi ang students, sa Japanese culture, awkward sa kanila ang TPR, it's distracting for them as well. Dapat steady ka lang talaga parang statue. 😅

1. If if I click ni student ang Daily News article, then makikita mo din yon sa screen. Usually ganun. Pero if not. Search mo lang sa "Materials" then "Daily News" then search mo sa search bar yong title ng article. (may video ako about paano makita ang Lesson materials, hanapin mo lang sa mga video ko. Title "lesson materials in Engoo). Pwede mo gawin kahit di ka pa hired kasi open source lang ang Bell bird ( Engoo's classroom media).
2. The link provided is just the bell bird link, you don't start immediately. May small talk muna with the evaluator. Just to verify your identity and check your internet connection. Also you can ask questions. Better grab that opportunity to ask.

sa bellbird, wala pong recording. Pero during actual classes, automatic recorded po. Pwede ko po kayo mag record gamit po separate application like "LOOM" or "OBS". Loom nalang po madali lang gamitin. i download nyo lang po xa. then follow mo lang instruction

Hi, yes po. I'm still an active tutor of Engoo. A lot of students are in Engoo. It doesn't matter. As long as you are 18 years or above and you pass the Language test and teaching demo. Then secure a TIN, to get started in Engoo.

Hi, sis Jerah. Basically it's 15 mins kada isa, pero minsan pag makita ng evaluator na keri mo na ang daily news, kahit di pa 15 mins, ipa proceed ka na nya sa Free conversation, kaya be ready nalang din. Continue mo lang ang steps, no need na bumalik sa introduction ulit.

What happened was we consumed the whole 15 minutes sa daily news lang (greater even, pero hindi na siya sinali sa feedback ng recruiter po)s Nagulat din ako kasi yung daily news po na binasa namin hindi po beginner na level, intermediate agad. 😭 Hindi na rin po kami nag free conversation.

@@angeliverzosa7917 yes, they will and it's a big minus points. If you badly need a dictionary, better use an outside website. You can open a new window, it'll will not be seen by the student. As an advice, you should use your own words when defining and give at least one example using it.

Hi, MJ. That's a very good question. If you are not familiar, then you can google or look in Cambridge dictionary, di nakikita ng student ang mga windows or tabs ino-open mo. Palusot kalang na, like "Oh that's a good question" or "I see, so the meaning of _____ is" try to talk slowly, buy some time while searching for the word. If di talaga kaya, pwedeng pwede lang sabihin na, di ka maxado familiar and you want to double-check the meaning of it. Hope that helps and see you around.

@@joytan9037 no worries. Ang COR, SD, ledger ay need lang po if mag aavail kayo ng tax exemption. For now, if gusto mo na po ma activate as tutor, pwedeng TIN po muna i comply nyo. Pero yon, may 10% tax. Pero kung gusto mo na at kaya mo ng mag avail ng tax exemption, pwede din mahaba at medyo time consuming nga lang. Kaya later na ako nag process, nag start na ako mag turo para din makapag ipon.
