    Wonderful little cars - I had 2 - a 1960 coupe and a 1964 Monza Spyder. Adding a sway bar and heavy duty shocks made all the difference.

    I had a 1966 Corsa Convertible in Aztec Bronze, with a White power top. If it hadn’t been my absolute desire to have a Corvette, I’m sure I would still have the Corsa. What a great car!

      Aztec Bronze is my absolute favorite color on these cars. 1966 color only.

    If you ever get it back again, PLEASE let me know! Gorgeous car and I love the story behind the 69s.
    Best plates I have seen on one is SAVE ME lol.
    This is my favorite Chevy color, and this design is timeless. Can't wait to get one when Chevy starts making the E-Vair. It's going to be awesome!

    I've always wanted a Corvair. They're just so different. There's a Corvair this color that drives around town. It's not quite as clean as this one. But it's still nice

    My dad owned numerous corvairs back in the 60's... he is 82 and I think he is going to buy one here soon.. I have great memories as a kid with these.. great cars.. they were ahead of their time..

    69 corvair coupe was my first purchase as a 16 year old in 2006. Loved it, but couldn’t keep it and drive my girlfriend (now wife) around both sets of parents weren’t having it. No seatbelts, airbags and barely enough seats to keep us both in lol. I’m now looking for a replacement.

    There is a book on the '69 Corvair that is fun to read. It lists lots of them by serial number and how they were equipped. The Deloreon car was rear engined as well.

    I had a 1969 500 coupe'. Don't remember the number, but it was built three weeks from the end. No radio, heavy duty three speed, quick steering; it drove more like a truck than a Corvair. At one point, I had five Corvairs.

    She is a beauty ! & has a few really good options like the 140 with the automatic ! The only thing I would change on this is were the tach. is mounted ! It's shame to cover up what allot of people never ordered on the 2nd gen Corvair Monza's & that is the clock ( option ) That's the 1st thing I look for on these late model Monza's ! & yes I do own a 67 Monza Convertible 110 automatic with the optional clock , Thanks for the video on this stout 69 Monza Coupe.

      Agree she’s perfect for someone who is no longer able to drive a manual shift (like me) but was in my late teens when she was manufactured. Just wish I had the cash under the mattress.

      @@robertcoren7318 I'm lucky that I've been into Corvair's for almost most of my life ! & drove one when I was 14 in the early 70's & was hooked since , & I've been a Chevrolet for as long as I can remember , But I didn't buy my 1st Corvair till 1986 to fix up ! Which I still have , & that's a 65 Corsa 180 Turbo & she is done , & I owned 3 others since but sold one of them with much regret that was a 1960 model 700 4 door , & I still own 64 Greenbrier 6 door Deluxe 110 automatic , & the 67 that mentioned earlier . But I so want a late model Monza 4 door hardtop sport sedan ! But have no money under the mattress like You , But I might let the turbo go to get one😉.

    Nader was an A/hole. Porsche & VW was running the same suspension (and continued) as the early Corvair. Never heard any complaints about those!

  • @jimburig7064
    @jimburig7064 Před rokem +1

    I've been a Corvair aficionado a very long time & hold Ralph Nader in high esteem as he is an honorable man who has been a consumer advocate first and foremost. Live. Relax. Don't bash Mr. Nader.

    • @orphancargarage5746
      @orphancargarage5746  Před rokem

      I won't completely disagree. Nader was responsible for a lot of the safety features we now take for granted and if not for advocates like him, may have never have had or as soon. With regard to the Corvair. Yes, the early 60-63 models were not without some issues but given the auto industry at the time, it wasn't too unlike many other cars being sold in the US then. I believe he used the Corvair unfairly as the poster child for everything that's wrong with the industry. After all, GM was a good target. He certainly wouldn't have had much notoriety going after Renault for the Dalphine. Also as we now, GM was cleared of any intentional wrong going by the US Traffic Safety Bureau in the early 70's. By then it was too late..

    Nice car but all 4 are tail light lenses., inner 2 should be backup light lenses, clear center. Also one thin ring where right backup should be, other 3 have wide rings.

      My '69' had different bumpers, earlier models had the fancy vertical additional pieces. And, of course the back-up light lenses as mentioned too.
