Ran across Pat on The Tonight Show from '93, vid quality not super great but it's 19 years old and from VHS...more to come as finding. Hope you all like.
Pat can really sing anything well! Best vocal range ever! Hall of Fame, where are ya! So much energy and emotion and perfection on the notes. Pat fan forever!
When talk shows were people, their talents, their lives discussed by the king of late night. I remember watching Carson as a young boy, and being so tired for school the next day. But what an exposure to talent without compare. Very fond memories of the Carson Show. And to have Pat on the show, a genuine talent and personality. Ah the 80s.
Wow as I watched this, I TOTALLY remembered it from when it aired. In fact, I was in Salt Lake City (but why I was there escapes me LOL) and I thought Pat was well suited to this style. And Johnny, well...sigh. Late Night Television will NEVR be the same. Thank you for posting this.
The drummer with her that night was John Rossi, a Rhode Island native who was the drummer for the great band Roomful of Blues. He played with them for 30 years and, sadly, recently passed away. A great blues and dance band artist. He will be missed
Damn it, Pat can really sing anything and kick ass. Bravo girlfriend , just just a class act!! I'm one of ur #1fans! I named my first born son after ur hubby,😚!! Just saying! Luv U girl!
the plane seat story was funny , the respect for johnny was more like " don't get me mad or you'll never be on my show" situation i bet , pat is funny & one of the best voices on earth !!
just watched it again. dam scared of my rant a year ago. sorry. just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing this incredible piece of music history with us.
This is a great min. For someone is so, so cool! 👍.. and the best of life too her and Neil .G . And bands ., from a very laid back person for Music ! ..🌺🌺🌺🌺✨✨👋🏻
Help Pat Benetar once appeared on the tonight show ( probably her first appearance ) where Johnny showed off her vocal power ( she is the smallest registered Opera singer ever) and she sang without audio boost from the stage as Johnny walked all the way to the top of the seats with a microphone so you could hear her power !!! In those days the Tonight Show was recorded on VHS and Beta and the video from the show has been lost. If anyone has it - please Post it!
OMG Thank you so much for posting this! I have her Arsenio Hall Show appearance from that era on tape somewhere in a box deep in my closet but I had never seen this before
Thanks for the date correction, we shall see if they strike it. If so than oh well, think they should allow old footage. Uploaded a different one last night and it got blocked immediately.
i had this on my channel and they just gave me a strike on my account for it. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. This footage is actually from 1991. i wish they would just let people post this stuff. it's not like they ever have this footage for sale for Christ sake.
Tremendous singer who can sing just about anything. Blues, opera, pop, broadway. More than just a rocker chick.
Pat can really sing anything well! Best vocal range ever! Hall of Fame, where are ya! So much energy and emotion and perfection on the notes. Pat fan forever!
She needs to be inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
She’s classically trained.
She can sing anything, yes. Metal. Blues. Broadway show tunes. Opera. Anything at all.
Pat is such a sweet nice humble woman
Pat really is one of a kind, and Neil- hopefully they will always be remembered
Great stuff
Johnny rocks. Pat rocks RIP MR CARSON
Classy Woman. Neil is no joke either!!
FINALLY an induction nod from the Rock Hall.......Pray she makes it in this year.....no one deserves it more!
More of a honor to be ignored by; more prestige associated with _not_ being recognized by the silly ''Rock & Roll Hall of Shame''
@@manofiske3318: Exactly! The RNR HOF is a joke.

Jazz, Rock, and Blues. Pat and Neil cover it all. So happy I got to see them.

I know this is not a popular opinion, but this album, True Love, is my absolute favorite PB recording.

RIP John Rossi czcams.com/video/ARpm730l78w/video.html
This album was rreally good. Wish they'd do another like it. She could pretty much sing the phone book, but def made to sing da bluuues!
That seems very unlikely in light of the dismal commercial failure of _True Love._
